Hey everyone. Im off to Orlando in august, and im planning on going to see The Royals @ The Rays. Has anyone been to Tropicana?

and if so what did you think of it?

And how can i get a ticket? - will they send it to the UK or can i pick it up at the stadium or what? cheers

Have a nice time! I'd like to go to Florida, but I'm too attracted to New York to be bothered about anywhere else :D!

As for tickets, I've just bought my Red Sox/Yankees tickets for October through the Yankees' website, and they're holding them at will call (basically a ticket collection booth) so I'll pick them up on the day. I'm also going to buy a ticket to see the New York Jets play the 49ers, and I'll be getting my ticket from StubHub US, who offer an electronic delivery service (you'll be sent them in an e-mail to print off however long before the game starts). So there are a couple of options that I know about.

Hey Padres exile, I have just been on the Rays website and its like toffeeyankee says, international buyers have to collect tickets from "will call", with photo ID and the debit/credit card you purchased the tickets with if that's the way you choose to do it. Other teams let you print your ticket at home.

Enjoy your trip, please tell us how you got on when you return.

Been a couple of times - One of the stadiums where tickets are never a problem.

You can frequently get them slightly cheaper via Stubhub.

If you're in Orlando and driving over then I guess Parking at the ground might be the easiest option. There is a free (driver tips) bus from St Petersburg but you've still got parking to pay in St. Petes.

I was there last August - absolutely no need to buy in advance (unless you really need a discount).

Parking at the stadium was easy. The Trop is fine, I think it gets moaned at because of all the roof gantries that get in the way of the ball.

Have a good one and cheer the Royals on for me... B)

thanks everyone for replies. Yeah i thought i could easily get tickets on the day, as they are highly unlikely to sell out (come on its the rays!) but its better to be safe than sorry, i would be devestated if i could go, plus i can choose my seat, so going to pick behind home plate ish but cheap enough yet not too far back.

ill probably pick them up on the day then :-)

Just been looking at the website and i can get what seems like a lower tier behind home plate for $55.00. Sound reasonable? any closer and its about $80-$150. Outfield seats are $10 i think but id rather get a good view for my first ever live baseball game. I know tickets are hardly going to sell out but id rather choose where i want to sit.
