Title: Baseball themed bars in NYC

WMCHRIS - January 20, 2012 09:49 PM (GMT)
Anyone got any suggestions? Know there will be loads of bars that show baseball, but anyone found any that are solely themed around baseball? Am sure there will be a few round Yankee stadium but anyone been to any more generic 'baseball' bars?

Cheers

This place is a like a baseball museum, even the food menu is based around MLB teams.

I've enjoyed a couple of great nights in here watching games with the locals.

Cheers mate, just the type of place I was thinking. Anymore for anymore?

This would be useful for me too.

Anyone know of any bars that show games with the commentary on (specifically the mets). Watching games with no sound drives me mad for some reason!

Just got back from NYC, I did a lot of web-surfing trying to find places other than Foleys (great bar)... with not much success. The site below has some ideas, other than that I would suggest checking out all the Irish bars around Times Square (and ESPN there), and Brooklyn.

For the 1pm game against Texas I was in Stan's Bar outside the stadium at 11:15am.....it was loud and rammed (and 'usually busier') - not my ideal but a good experience. Fenway Park bars were much better.

I went in foleys one night and I think they had commentary on in there on quite low as there's 2 or 3 screens, worth a visit anyway even for a quick one and a look about.

Other than that there are lots of bars around with tv's and when I was there none were that busy so you could just get them to put what game you wanted on I would imagine. Other than that have a look for sports type bars in somewhere like woodside if you fancy a more 'authentic' NY type experience.
