Title: Week 10 discussion
Tijani - November 11, 2011 01:40 AM (GMT)
Chargers-Raiders has just started. Matthews is back for us which is a big boost.
I think we will see a few interceptions in this game.
We have just taken the lead with a field goal. It was a good first drive but a bit disappointing to only get 3 points.
Tijani - November 11, 2011 02:28 AM (GMT)
We trail 10-3. We have went 3 and out on our last 3 possessions and we can't stop the Raiders. It's not the best combination.
Tijani - November 11, 2011 03:00 AM (GMT)
We are lucky to only be behind 17-3. We are losing everything at the line of scrimmage since McNeil left the game and we need to get it sorted as Rivers is getting no time to make any passes. He has managed to find Gates/Jackson once in the first half.
Total Yards so far
Oakland 293
San Diego 65
I think that says it all.
Tijani - November 11, 2011 03:17 AM (GMT)
Game on!
That was more like it. A great catch from Brown and we now trail 17-10.
Tijani - November 11, 2011 03:55 AM (GMT)
We finally get a touchdown to make it 24-17. I thought we had it earlier when Brown made an insane catch but the decision was overturned as they reviewed the play. I don't understand why it was overturned but at least we still scored. The referee explained why but I don't really agree with what he said.

After finally getting our first win of the season after winning 31-1 away at Kansas last week I am hoping that we can make it 2-7 at home to the Redskins on Sunday.
That win last week felt like a championship as it means I need not worry about hitting the dreadful 0-16 that we nearly did a few years back.
Adam31 - November 12, 2011 07:48 PM (GMT)
We're 7-1. Unbeaten on the road. Brilliant!
Giants at home Sunday, on sky, so will be sat watching that.
Also Pats-Jets, which is always a cracker. Good week.

I note the Bucs have acquired the services of Albert Haynesworth to try & put a bit of backbone back into there defence against the strong running game of Foster & the Texans!
Will the Chiefs get back on track & make up the half game they are behind on the Raiders in what is becoming a very exciting division?
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 05:35 PM (GMT)
Feeling quite positive about our chances vs the Skins
They seem to be in a bit of a tumble right now and we are on a high and the pressure of getting that win has been lifted a little
Is surely our best chance of winning a home game this year as well, I'd probably be more confident if we were on the road.
I'll take us to win by 10
CubbieDream - November 13, 2011 06:19 PM (GMT)
Hope the Dolphins win today, and obviously the Colts lose. Never thought i would say that but after watching Stanford this season, the Dolphins being in the position to select Luck would be an absolute nightmare. He may bomb but its extremely unlikely, wouldn't mind seeing him in the NFC but i'll take him on the Colts rather than the Dolphins.
Jets/Patriots can go a variety of ways, we are 4-0 at home this year and 2-0 at home v the Patriots under Rex. At the same time you just never know what you are going to get with this offence. I think we can really challenge that Patriots secoundary and we have all seen they are not the same team they have been in the past this year.
Bills are losing, that's a good thing.
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 06:44 PM (GMT)
We had a good start and Bush got his 2nd TD of the season but Moore threw a pick after forcing a throw on a 3rd and 30 after we went backwards when we had decent field position to start the drive
Int was returned to the 10 but we hold them to just a FG
7-3 Dolphins after the 1st quarter
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 07:06 PM (GMT)
We've extended the lead with a Dan Carpenter Chip Shot FG as we fail to score on 3rd and goal from the 2
Davis Intercepts Grossman and gets a nice return so we start this drive with decent field position and schould at least get a FG to push it to a 2 score game
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 07:29 PM (GMT)
10-6 at the Half
Carpenter missed a long field goal going against the wind and the Skins reply with a FG of there own
so both teams have missed a FG
Sparano has top be the mose conservative coach though as once again he declines to try and drive for at least FG, we had the ball at our 20 with 1.20 left and 2 TOs left and we just run the clock down
Yes we start the 3rd with the ball but you've got to at least try, it happens all the time with Sparano
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 08:01 PM (GMT)
both sides counter with a pair of short FGs
Moore fumbled and the Skins got great Field position to start there drive but got inside the 5 but couldn't get it in and its the same story for us
so It's 13-9 as both of us seem able to move the ball but once its in the red zone it falls apart
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 08:21 PM (GMT)
Dansby comes up big and gets a crucial interception of Grossman inside the 10 as the Skins had driven down the field.
11.09 left and we lead 13-9 and have the ball
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 08:32 PM (GMT)
TOUCHDOWN DOLPHINS
Reggie Bush cuts to the outside, cuts back in and back out and in to the EZ for an 18 yard TD run
Points of Turnover is crucial
20-9 Dolphins with 6 Minutes to go
Leemarlin87 - November 13, 2011 09:10 PM (GMT)
Dolphins win 20-9, 1 more then my prediction
Nice to string back to back wins together for the 1st time since the opening 2 weeks of the 2010 season when we started 2-0
Dansby was big today, a couple of batted balls and crucial interception when the Redskins were driving and in the Red Zone.
Moore managed the game well and whilst the stats of 1 Int and 1 Fumble don't look great he really played well in the 2nd half and lead the team down the field fot the crucial TD.
2-7 now and things are looking better at least, Bills next week who seem to have cooled since there hot start so we should fancy our chances in that before the thanksgiving showdown with the Cowboys which will be a big Test.
AlextheBrave - November 14, 2011 11:29 AM (GMT)
Rob Gronkowski, this kid might just be the best young player in the game, an absolute monster who seems to be the complete package.
Leemarlin87 - November 15, 2011 01:21 PM (GMT)
Just got round to watching Pats and Jets game from Sunday, Pats are surely in control of the East now effectively 2 games ahead with the tie-break already sewn up and an easy schedule coming up, they could easily win out from here and finish 13-3.
Jets best shot is going to be once again the wildcard and having to win out on the road again, they've done it the past 2 years but this year they don't look the same team and I wouldn't be surprised if they missed the playoffs altogether.
CubbieDream - November 15, 2011 09:43 PM (GMT)
I wouldnt be surprised if we miss out all together, I have said the same to AC for a while. I honestly think we will finish 8-8 and that is not nearly enough. An 8-8 finish will likely result in Schotty moving on in the summer and some questions being asked about the make-up of the team.
There are a lot of things wrong with the Jets this year, that are being masked by some rather fortunate results. The harmony with the team is not there, we need a new RT straight away. We have no coverage ability with our safeties (Rob Gronkiwski is a good player, but Eric Smith is the worst covering starting safety in the league), and we need an outside rush.
RT/FS/OLB is where we need to look in the off-season. Possibly looking at replacing Plax as well, although he is really starting to improve IMO. Question marks over Sanchez have to be raised, you don't take a QB in the top 5 of the draft for him to be a 'not to lose' guy instead of a 'he can win it for us'. He gets a lot of passes, but this is year 3 and he still has severe limitations.
Lots and lots of issues with this team and i think the Patriots have exposed them twice this year and Baltimore did too. I'm sure others will throughout the year.
