Oakland Raiders owner has died this Morning at age 82, cause of death hasn't been released or not that I've seen yet anyway.

Whilst he h\d his enemies I don't think anyone can argue the influence he had on football, helped create the AFL and the Merger with the NFL.

Raiders were one of the most successful teams under his reign until the last decade or so when he did seem to be hanging on to power for too long and was actually a negative on the team.

Still a very Important person in the history of Football and will be missed

A true NFL legend (regardless of all the politics that followed him)

All time great in terms of importance, and I hope the last decade or so is pushed to the back when thinking about his contribution to football.

It's going to be strange to think of the Raiders without Davis.

I can't right now, it's like a member of my family has died. I've said a lot about how he hung on too long, and was lving in the past, but what a past!

Right now all I can think about is all the good times, and all the great things he accomplished, not just for the Raiders, but for the NFL. A true groundbreaker and a man of great vision.

The Raiders are the most iconic franchise in the NFL in my opinion, think of the silver and black and you think of Al Davis
