Welcome to the Four Crowns, a newly renovated hotel turned apartment complex.

Back in the 1920's, then then Grand Majesty was the talk of the town, the place to be, and the location of many scandalous activities in the speakeasy in the basement. Things seemed to be going well, business booming until 1929 when a mysterious explosion killed a hundred people during a masked ball hosted by the mayor. Some people think it was part of a cover up of a gang at the time, others think the mayor was covering up a scandal and used the explosion to regain the favor of New York City. The case was never solved.

The hotel was rebuilt, but things were never the same and it closed soon after. Year after year, new owners would acquire the building, then something would happen where they had to close before staying even a year. It because known as the haunted hotel, and elaborate stories were concocted to explain the mysterious business failures.

Then, five years ago, the decrepit building was bought, nearly gutted, and completely renovated, turning the hotel into an apartment complex that soon opened a year later. The Grand Majesty was renamed The Four Crowns, and business was good. Then a mysterious gas leak nearly forced the building to close, but the owners wouldn't be discouraged. They had things fixed up and reopened. Tenants moved in and out and for once, the "spirits" seemed to be calm.

Now, in 2009, the Four Crowns is doing better than ever, where management is kind and rent is decent. Some families have chosen to make the complex their permanent home and all seems well. The eve of that mysterious explosion is coming up soon and people are wondering if the past has remained just that.
