Rules and Guidelines, MUST READ

General Rules

1. If you have an idea for a board that's not up, or for any majors, events, etc., don't be afraid to PM me with your own description to have it added. You never know..someone will want to have something just like you. I may alter it to fit the board, but otherwise your contribution will be duly noted.
   
2. Lets have fun, eh? I'm not a strict nick-pick. All I ask is that you keep the drama between characters and respect each other. NO racism, NO sexism and all that jazz. Between characters is fine, but this is a place for everyone to enjoy. Not your own private playground.
   
3. If you get offended, REPORT THE SITUATION TO ME. I will warn that person, and if it's the same person...I will ban them. It's as simple as that. After your banning, and the same person is getting reported, You will be kicked out of my site. I don't need stuff like that, nor do I want these happy members to be offended or uncomfortable.
   
4. Don't be afraid to ask questions, give comments or suggestions. I love to hear from you, it's the best part of being an admin.
   
5. Be Creative. We don't want a board of just rich, spoiled people who get everything they want or people whose backgrounds were so horrible it's straight from a horror flick.
   
6. You are allowed to have multiple characters. I do it because I get bored too easily with my characters or need to make more to make a plot flow. All I ask is only sign up for ones you can handle. Don't make 10, and leave 5 be for long, long periods of time. There is no limitation on the gender of each character but try to keep it relatively even. If there are 20 females and only 5 males, then there will be a restriction on females until the number even out.
   
7. This board focuses around adults in New York City, considering the main basis is an apartment complex. With that being said, the youngest any character can be on this board is 18 years of age, for that is the youngest someone is considered an adult and can own something in their name. Unless you have a parent on the board, please ask admin before making any characters younger than that.
   
8. Stay active, it annoys me when people sign up for a week and never come back. It makes me sad because I worked really hard. If you don't want to join, don't register. Simple as that.
   
9. This one links to 7. If you join then you have a 1 week grace period. If you just sign up but don't post....I will delete you. If you have to go away...please....PM me (I don't bite), or make a thread in Absences. It only takes 5 minutes at most. Please.
   
10. With that said, each month an activity check will be made. You will have a week to log in and say you are still here. Those that just joined or have put a thread in Absences will be exempt from this check, but only them. Otherwise your account will be deleted and you will have to start over. If you do post in the activity check but continue to not remain active without any notice to either admin, then your account will be deleted two weeks after the activity check. Again, it's pointless to join and not come back.
    
11. The maximum size for Avatars are 100x100. There is a restriction on signatures with the maximum length to be 400. The height is up to you, but please do not make them huge. There are still people using dial up or slower versions of DSL and it makes the board load very slowly and stretch.
    
12. There is a reason there is an accepted sub-board for where you place your profiles. There is to be no rping with a character until your profile is approved, or I say you can. It's mainly an order thing, but also we don't want characters running amuck now do we? Please be reasonable about this.

In Play Rules

1. Don't kill the Characters and bring them to their death. I'm sorry. However, I do accept non-registered characters (NPC's). Please...have fun, but don't get carried away. Ghosts are allowed, but again, are not allowed to kill anyone. Make sure to have their own limitations. If you absolutely have to kill a real character ask that person and the admin first. NPCs are a free-for-all.
   
2. Language is fine-I'm not a stickler. But it gets out of hand in every... single... d**n... sentence.... You will be warned if I keep seeing this rule being abused.
   
3. This board is rated R for language, violence, and sex. That being said, not everyone wants to read that stuff. Please put all sexually explicit posts in the mature board and put warnings in your thread title for other kinds of explicit content. The very possible youngest you can be on this board is 16 granted your profile meets the standards of this board, however you must be 17 in order for your posts to become Mature. If people act too immaturely or take this allowance for granted, the rating will be raised to NC-17 and profile acceptance will become stricter.
   
4. No God-Moding.
   
5. No one liners...I can't tell you how painful it is to see that...while you make a 4 paragraph post. It screams help. Go to a different site that allows one lines, don't do it here. There is a 150 word minimum for posts for this is an intermediate/advance site, but we are willing to make exceptions for beginners, and will help them improve their writing skills. That really isn't very much to write when you think about it. So please, just follow this simple rule and no one gets hurt XD.
   
6. No mary-sues or gary-sues. There’s no fun when there’s perfect characters running around the place. You must have some realistic flaws. But not over the top either.
