Because I know a lot of us have seen it already or will soon: a place to gush about the movie.

So what did you all think? Personally, I loved it. Especially Cato. Oh, and I cried within the first ten minutes, THAT was lovely.

I didn't really STOP crying. It was so, so, SO good. I thought it did an AMAZING job of explaining to the general public the sort of world of Panem, the way that things happen there. Also, I loved how they included the stuff that happened out of Katniss's point of view (which is always tricky in a novel written in first person) that will help lead the way into books two and three.

I thought Cato and Rue's casting was SPOT ON. I wasn't a huge fan of Josh Hutcherson coming into the movie, and even after seeing it I'm not 100% behind him; I thought, physically, he wasn't quite right - I didn't really believe his strength. I do, however, think that Josh captured Peeta's charm and humour perfectly. We didn't really see enough of Liam Hemsworth to get a good idea of how he captured Gale - I'll reserve my judgement until the second and third film. He's pretty, though. xD

Jennifer Lawrence was perfect. Period. End of sentence. I'm not even going to try to explain why. She just WAS.

The only thing that wasn't exactly as I pictured it was the Cornucopia. Other than that... I have no complaints. At all. Seriously. I was so satisfied with this adaptation, which says a LOT, since I'm usually very, very, very picky - especially with a series I'm so desperately in love with.

I have a Mockingjay pin on my coat and people keep commenting on it. Love. <3

... /shifty. You SAID we could gush, right? xD

THEY DID SO GOOD. The only gripes I really had with it were regarding Peeta - his role was cut down a lot from the books in my opinion. HOWEVER, that was definitely made up for with the President Snow/Seneca Crane scenes. I love that Suzanne Collins was an executive producer because I think that might have helped that.

I still have yet to get used to Josh as Peeta, but he did so well I might be convinced, haha.

I'm pretty sure I cried at every death, really - and the bread scene, and the scene in the car when Peeta started crying, and... I was all around a hot mess, tbh.

It was amazing. The parts that I knew they were taking out -i.e. Madge- didn't even bother me because they definitely added to the dynamic that is supposed to be there. ALSO. Liam Hemsworth was so awesome as Gale - I never shipped Katniss/Gale in the books but I did in the film. And the Capitol? That was... phenomenal. I loved the costumes, the makeup, the control room for the Games. It was just flawless.

//ramble oops, I'll get to my reply soon!

A friend of mine on facebook FLIPPED OUT that they cut Madge- but honestly, it made sense. My biggest critique of the movie is honestly that they kept too much in- the pacing of it was so fast. I would have rather a few more things be cut down/simplified so they could focus more on bigger aspects. If they had kept Madge in, it would have been yet another character to introduce, and instead they got to use it as a Katniss/Prim moment.

I thought that the movie was more or less flawless. Because I read the books when most of the actors had been cast I obviously just sort of pictured them in the roles, I think Josh did and amazing job as Peeta (also may be a bit in love with him but more on that later) but the person I was surprised to be impressed with was the girl who played Prim.

I don't even know- she was responsible for most of my tears at the beginning of the movie.

Actually a lot of people were responsible, but yeah I can't get anything coherent out just yet. Basically, I loved it.

I think I've said plenty of times how I loooooooooooooooooooooved the movie, but I did. So much. My only gripes are spoilers, so I can't really get into them, but I kind of think they might be able to work out in CF.

The casting was PERFECT. Everybody was so right for the roles that I'm not even worried about Finnick or Johanna or any of those. Apparently the casting directors know what the heck they're doing. And I laughed at the Cato and Glimmer in lustness, but only because I'd joked around about Marvel being jealous of them before or something like that.

Also, speaking of the Careers -- I didn't even care that much about them in the book, but there was just so much added to their characters. I loved them all. In some respects, the movie topped the book, only because you could see certain perspectives that you weren't able to see in the book. Like the Snow/Seneca stuff.

Overall, it was just great. Everything I would have hoped.
