My absolutely, positively favorite anime of all time!
I love Ed to say the least. He is my in cartoon form. Short, hot tempered and a smart ass.

I'm kind of sketchy about watching Brotherhood though. I love the original so much, I'm afraid it might ruin it all for me.

What do you mean 'the original'? The first anime wasn't really 'original', as in, very different to the manga.
Brotherhood nearly follows the Manga exactly, though I don't like the dramatic lame supposed-to-be-funny-but-not expressions on the characters, like when Maria Ross had to run away with Barry.
I also like the voice actors/actresses from the first anime. But of course the manga plot is far more superior than the first anime. smile.gif

The characters in FMA aren't as strong to me, but FMA has the best story plot in my opinion.

I honestly don't see why people complain about manga and anime of a series being so different from each other. I don't see what the point is in seeing something in which everything is exactly the same as the manga, and I know how it's gonna end. I think for it to go off in a different direction actually sparks my interest more in the series. The anime is not the manga, they're obviously two different adaptions. Just my opinion. ^__^

I like to respect each version for what it is. The anime and the manga are both very good. The series is one of my faves.

And I love Ed!! <3

I had seen the 'original' Anime on TV a few years ago. It came on after InuYasha on Adult Swim. I was attracted to the opening theme of 'Ready, Steady, Go!' by L'Arc~en~Ciel and started to watch the Anime itself. I adored it and wanted more. I had also bought the Manga and had a blast reading it, but, sadly, it lost me at volume 7...

I have to say that both the Manga and the 'Original' Anime are in my top ten. I haven't seen 'Brotherhood', due to being lazy and not having time, but I bet it'll be awesome.

Yes! I really love L'Arc En Ciel. I think Link (in the FMA movie) was even better than REady Steady Go!

And the first ANime version was very good, so I agree Lady Z.
Just that when most animes cannot keep up with the manga, they start destroying what comes after the original story plot, such like Kuroshitsuji.

And sorry for bumping old topics

I could never get into Kuroshitsuji... I tried to read the manga, but it just didn't do it for me.

As for Laruku, they are still awesome. I have the movie version of LINK on my iTunes... (Came out with the CD 'KISS').

Kuroshitsuji's art is really good in the manga IMO, so that's how I got into the manga. However I lost interest after the third volume. Nothing really makes sense; I don't even know what the plot is.

I hated the Anime because the art was awful (characters) and even more messed up compared to the manga. I hate a particular type of Anime-humour, where the characters just get so annoying and do melodramatic crap. Manga-humor gets into me more

ANYWAY back to topic. I don't know why Brotherhood seems really dull in moments where it is intense in the manga. I didn't even stir as much for the Lust's DEath episode. I think it's because of the new background music they put and the new cast of seiyuus.
