If you want to build a RAF GR1 then go for the Revell RAF GR1 kit , very nice .
The latest Hasegawa kit is a GR4 version but at a price of over £30 you could buy 3 Revell kits for that money.
The Hasegawa also has a shape issue with the nose.....its too short .

Really depends which version and which Airforce you are building mate .

Revell kit seconded, although it has a slight shape issue with the radome, but this can easily be sanded to a correct profile.

If you come across a Hasegawa kit on the cheap it is still worth picking up, especially if you combine it with the Flightpath detail set. This has a natty little resin replacement radome that sorts out the problem, also numerous white metal and PE goodies. After that it's just the fin top leading edge that needs a bit of sanding to get the correct shape.

Although it's quite expensive the Flightpath sets are worth considering for any Tornado build, although if using one with a Revell GR kit you will find yourself with an abundance of plastic and white metal ALARMS on your hands. I suppose you could always use some up on an F3 SEAD. think.gif

Agree with all written,my only plus point for the Hasegawa kit is build quality, seems to go together easier than the Revell kit.....BUT price wise and also no problems with detail, the Revell kit will always give you a cracking result. thunb.gif

Andy, might be worth putting a sticky on this one but also adding the answer to "What's the best 1/72 F.3?"

In 1/72 the 1990's Revell kit must win above all else. Hasegawa is often cited as a very close second, but there are major issues with the kit - not just the way-too-short nose, but also the totally incorrect squared-off tail.
Personally I'd go for Italeri as a second-best - it may not have the detail of the Hasegawa (or indeed the Revell by a long way), but it is certainly a better representation of the IDS (and the ECR) than the Hasegawa kit and you can get 3 of them for the price of one Hasegawa!
