Welcome to Through the Cascade, an advanced, original, fantasy medieval roleplaying site that centers around the feudal strife between the two kingdoms of Iridia, Zoria and Wyvern, as well as the introduction of a new, evil assortment of creatures, the Dust, who have fallen into Iridia from another dimension. Through the Cascade is violent, it is thrilling, adventurous, chaotic, heartwrenching, and more. Swords will clash, and bosoms will swell; armies will charge against armies.
All things that need to be claimed by your characters, so that we know all those other little details about them. The only mandatory thing in here is the Face Claim list.
Stretching out from Lake Hardd westward, these mountains are the lesser-known and -explored of Iridia, their counterpart being the Mountains Tempest. They are wild and dangerous, and it is assumed that the most dangerous creatures known to man make these mountains their home. Only a small village of fearsome warriors exists out there, and they are rarely visited.
Sprawling from the eastern most point of the Weir Mountains, all the way to the edge of the River Rask, the Arian forest is known for being home to Fae and Vila alike, its bountiful wood known for harboring wild fruit trees and flowers that produce the sweetest nectar. Its foliage in the autumn turns a motley of silvers, reds, and purples.
The infamous Mountains Tempest are subject of awe to all, for they tower high and magnificent on the horizon of Wyvern, being the main characteristic of the kingdom. They reach from North from the mining town of Yore to the base of the River Rask, and eastward to the northern edge of Wyvern. Syrus sits comfortably at its roots.
The north plains are grassy and lush, rolling into the occasional hill and ending abruptly in a cliff at the eastern border of Wyvern, over the Diamond Sea. Home to many little towns and villages, the north plains are easily one of the safest places to live in Iridia.
The River Rask is an immense, forking river that stems from the Ocean Magna to the North plains, and down to the South Plains, while its many tributaries reach as far as the other side of the kingdom. It is the greatest obstacle for the opposing forces of Wyvern, and the finest boat makers dream of making a vessel that can withstand the river's rapids and forceful currents.
The aptly-named golden wood is a magical place often flooded with sunlight through the swaying branches of birch, willow, and oak trees. It is rumored that a unicorn lives within these woods, and therefor it experiences only cool winters, and pleasant summer. The home to many fae.
A dry and arid land, naturally so for being so close to the dustlands, that is quiet and fairly unpopulated for being so hot and dusty. A small town lives a northern point, closer to one of the tributaries of the Gilt River, with a vibrant community of story-tellers and artists.
The Nadeen forest is great and diverse, a good place for nomadic tribes to lie low, and a better place for hunters to find their dinner. It is bountiful and supplies joy to many, from the carpenters who use its wood, to the seamstresses who use a specific leaf silk to make expensive garments for the royals who pay for them. They reach from the capitol, along the western side of Zoria, to the northernmost part of the High Moors.
This marshland became what it is due to increased flooding over many years, and the growth and additions of many tributaries that have wriggled their ways through to reach the larger surrounding rivers. It is damp and swampy, but surprisingly many have adapted and live here.
The area has always been known as the Dustlands -- this is actually how the Dust obtained their name, as the Cascade spat them out onto these very place. It is here to where they are primarily confined, and it is here they have built up a town, which is a haven from the Mortal lands. Few Mortals venture into these dunes anymore.
The western-most sea of Iridia is fairly tropical, its shores lined with coral reefs in which live exotic, vibrant fish. The Melony Islands are a favorite place for pirating excursions, as well a place for diplomatic action.
Iridia's easternmost ocean is quick and cool in temperament, being tropical at the southern points of Zoria, and icy and harsh near Wyvern's edge. The waves that crash against the Frozen Islands grant death to most sailors who attempt to master them.
