"They better not. I don't want to end up sick....
Especially
now."
She grinned wide when he kissed and teased her.
"There's an idea. I can be blind, with only you to guide me.
"

That thought made him queasy. Her or the baby getting sick--
catching plague
wasn't something he looked forward to. In fact, he'd thought about it and pushed the thought to the back of his mind.
"He'll be fine,"
Tristan kissed the top of Gigi's head once more and slowly pulled his arms away from her. His hands moved to hers holding them tightly, and he chuckled,
"I think we could manage that."

She watched his expression change, if only for a moment, before shaking her head quickly.
"All three of us will be fine. We'll be great."
True, she didn't believe her own words, but that didn't matter at all. She wanted to believe them, and believe Tristan. A laugh left her and she held onto his hands, gripping them equally as tight as he was.
"I'm sure we could."
She closed her eyes again, waiting for him to lead her along to wherever they might be going.

Tristan nodded,
"We will."
His smile broadened as he looked down at her.
"Actually... I have something to show you. I met a girl at this nearby park the other day,"
It probably wasn't the best way to begin a story, but Tristan rarely thought first.

Her smile faded some as the thoughts took over, even if it was briefly, she did not like the direction her thoughts were headed toward.
”Of course we will!”
She may not believe herself fully, but it didn't matter, as long as Tristan thought she believed her own words, things would be good. She couldn't help but raise her eyebrow at him mentioning meeting a girl. In came the green monster of jealousy.
”Oh?”
She knew that she was visibly frowning, but she was far from completely rational, blame it on the hormones.

"Mhm,"
Tristan nodded, naively unconcerned about the jealousy his wife might have. After all, this girl he met was still a child by average standards, even if she had woken up, hungover, under a park bench and cured the headache with a cigarette.
"She showed me this place...It used to be some sort of bakery not long ago, but the owners left. They even had an apartment above it they used to rent out...You know, a little cleaning up and it might be a nice place to stay. Wouldn't have to worry about staying with someone else and them getting sick..."
Plus it'd give her a space to nest, but Tristan didn't want to assume they'd be here all that long.

It was not something that Gigi was proud of. She didn't like being jealous over time spent with her husband. This other girl had seen him more recently than she had. It made for a rather violent green monster tormenting her constantly. She tilted her head off to the side as he explained this temporary living situation that they were likely to be claiming as their own.
”That would be such a relief. Plus I could always pester you from up stairs. Or come down and visit. Since I don't have anything to do with my time...”
She let out a sigh and shrugged some before moving to lean up against him.

Tristan laughed a little,
"Pester me? You? Never,
he shook his head. His tone was teasing, though he was sincere. Perhaps they were still mentally in the honeymoon phase, but Tristan couldn't even imagine Gigi getting on his nerves.
Grinning, he moved his arm around her waist and pulled her close.
"Good. It's a bit of a mess still. Nothing spectacular,"
He warned her, already guiding her closer to town,
"You good to walk? Or should I carry you?"
Of course, he was joking, but if she said yes, he wouldn't oppose.

She grinned wide up at him. God how she loved him. He was perfect for her, he really was, and though her mother couldn't see that, it didn't make it any less true.
"You never know, I could just annoy you until you decide that you want to divorce me."
She laughed and shrugged, knowing that was
not
likely to ever happen between them.
Her smile widened at him pulling her closer.
"Well that will be remedied. You should see home... it's
immaculate
. Plus while you've been up here, I haven't been able to dance much... Too much morning sickness mixed with turns did not work out as planned. "
She grinned in his direction, even though her eyes were still shut and shrugged.
"I think I can manage walking."
She wrapped her arm around him, ready for him to guide her to wherever this new temporary place may be.

”I’d have to kill you first,”
Tristan joked and kissed the top of her head,
”And I’d never dream of it.”
Tristan grinned,
”Is it? Well, I can’t wait to go home then,”
he really couldn’t,
”Have you been doing that nesting thing?”
At least he’d read some of those books he managed to stumble across at the library. Maybe that bookstore he visited a while back had something too.
”Are you still getting sick? When’s that supposed to be over?”
It wasn’t his fault he tended to worry over her. Gigi was more than capable to care for herself. He just liked knowing he was the extra hands keeping her together.
”Fair. You just say the word though if you get tired,”
he smiled, keeping her close to him as the walked,
”You’ll like this place, I think. For the most part. The people I’ve met are….friendly. For the most part. It’s not home. But it’s nice.”

Gigi was always glad that she could joke about such things with Tristan. It made their relationship that much better. Though to her, she couldn't imagine it getting any better at all. It was perfect. Though, of course, they had their arguments, but it was always about something that didn't matter as much as it should have to anyone else, except them. One such subject was always who was the better super hero, and while Gigi liked the Flash, her favorite had always been a toss up between the Green Lantern and pretty much any of the X-Men. She nodded in his direction again.
”No you wouldn't... and it's amazingly clean, and organized, you know in case you wanted to move and live somewhere else?”
She of course was not meaning living up here on the surface, but hey, it was possible.
She shook her head quickly.
”It's over. It's been over for about a week now, thank the maker. And no, I don't think I've been nesting...”
She shrugged some and squeezed his hand lightly.
”Oh, I'll let you know. Promise.”
To be honest, she was excited to be able to move around with relative ease up here, even if it was too damn bright for her.
”Oh, well that's good. I'm glad people aren't all infected and crazy up here.”
It had been a worry of hers ever since he had decided to come up onto the surface. It was so odd though, that they were now stuck up there until the government got things working properly down home.

"Somewhere else?"
Tristan frowned a bit. He had grown comfortable where they were (not here, but back in Hollow Earth).
"What's wrong with the apartment we have?"
Stan nodded, smiling when she squeezed his hand and let go in order to wrap both his arms around her, pulling her tight. Before now, this was something he would have only done in the privacy of their own home, where no one could be a voyeur on their love. He just missed Gigi too damn much though to think about that now.
"I'm glad it's passed then,"
He planted a kiss on the top of her head and guided her closer to the town,
"Well, I'd still keep my eye open and wash your hands a lot,"
sure, he hadn't encountered any cannibals or plagued persons up here, but he wasn't about to put his wife and unborn child at risk.
As soon as he made it to the abandoned building Summer had shown him, he stopped and used his hand to shield Gigi's eyes.
"Look if you can. It's not pretty, but there's an apartment upstairs from the previous owners and the over actually works."
