Description: Horror could be included too.

Simple question! We all love movies, I assume. And to be drawn to this site there must be something about sci-fi (or even a bit of horror) that struck your fancy. So what are some of your favorites?

I'm in love with:
    Invasion of the Body Snatchers
    Jurassic Park
iRobot which I learned within the last year might have some ulterior motives against Apple?.....<___<
War of the Worlds The book. The movie. The radio show (which I got to work on a year ago. Twas AWESOME.)

WHERE SHOULD I START?!

As far as MOVIES go--

All the comic-book superhero stuff that I've seen, pretty much. Depending on your def of Sci-Fi, of course. Serenity, naturally. I count Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog as a superhero kind of thing. Most of my 'sci fi' experience mingles with horror and fantasy for me. So the Underworld series would count for me, Minority Report is a little sketchy, but I still like it. LOTS of horror movies. I don't even know where to start on those. Pretty much I love gothicish-horrory-sci-fi with special favoritism to anything Joss Whedon (INCLUDING DOLLHOUSE YO). Television shows would also obviously add Firefly and Dollhouse and Painkiller Jane, if anyone remembers the brief stint of that show from the Sci-fi channel... I pretty much used to ONLY watch that channel. I've seen most of the vampiry stuff on television, whether I've dismissed it or not after first testing it out.

I also took a sci-fi course my sophomore year and it was awesome. We read a bunch of things, 2001: space oddysey, 2010: space oddysey, do robots dream of electric sheep (what Bladerunner was based off of which I also adored), war of the worlds, watchmen, some William Gibson stuff, and Snowcrash, which was amazing. Most of the stuff I tend to like has a kind of post-apocolyptic/cyberpunk feel to it. Just because to me it's like a futuristic look that still manages to feel old and tired, which I just find to be completely amazing and mindboggling... AND SORRY LIT MAJOR TALKS TOO MUCH. BUT YES. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME.

oddly enough, for a sci-fi geek, I've never really been into aliens. They kind of turn me off to the whole thing, but I also tend to think that's because most 'aliens' aren't very well thought out. For me, It's just something I don't really like. the concepts are intriguing to write about, but I've never really been inclined to watch anything with aliens in it and I tend to roll my eyes the second a movie I'm watching deals with them unless it's in a universe that has accepted the existence, such as Star Wars or Star Trek, or Firefly, or something like that, even Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy is cool, but I'm not much of a fan for the whole world being fine and then random appearance of aliens. I tend to like my entertainment more complicated then that. XD. AND AGAIN RAMBLING I SHOULD JUST BE QUIET NOW.
