So, this is the beloved of the jarl of the Völsung clan. They were childhood-sweethearts and have been
married for many years now. She’s the one that keeps him grounded and takes care of the soft man inside
the shell. He always turns to her for advice or comfort, and she’s truly the “woman behind the man”.
He wouldn’t be such a good jarl without her for sure. Sigurd and Hild has been trying to get pregnant for
quite some time now and it has developed into an issue now that Hild is struggling a bit with. It’s hard for
her as it doesn’t seem like she’s able to give her jarl a son, but hope is not gone yet. As a person she would
be rather stubborn and strong spirited with a mind of her own – gaining respect from even the toughest of men.
As for fighting she thinks it’s such a waste and would much rather find other solutions to problems.

OLVIR BLOODAXE (Vladimir Kulich)

Jarl of Ylfings clan

The strong leader of Ylfings clan, and one of the best with an axe among the Vikings. This is a man who don’t like being questioned and will see his orders followed. It’s important to Olvir that he’s fighters are the best and he loves to arrange bets and battles to prove it. He’s more a “doer” than “thinker” and will hit first and ask later. He was married once to a woman named Ylva and she was his one true love – getting the man out of the beast. It was a great tragedy when Ylva died while giving birth to their daughter Signy. That tore Olvir apart and planted the seeds of anger and grief inside of him. His greatest treasure in life is his daughter and he is very over-protective of her – always knowing where she is, who she’s with and what she is up to. AGNAR ---------- (Kirk Douglas)

Swordsman, Ylfings clan

Agnar is sort of Olvir’s right hand and one of his finest warriors. He’s also the one the jarl often sends after his daughter Signy if she leaves the hold. Almost like a spy. Agnar has clear scars in his face from battle and is blinded on his left eye, giving him a rather creepy look. Other personality and history, and his surname/nickname is completely up to you.

THORSTEIN THE PROUD (Ernest Borgnine)
50 years old
Jarl of the Skjöldung clan

Thorstein has been jarl the longest of the three and that is something he won’t let anyone forget. He’s wise, clever and probably the most fun-loving of the three. He’s laughter is often to be heard through his hold and he prefers smiles over sadness. When it comes to important matters he can turn serious though and always got an answer for everything. He’s not fond of taking advice from those younger and more inexperienced than himself, and it’s hard for him to admit if he’s wrong – therefore the name “Thorstein The Proud”. The takes great pride in having the best horses, best houses, best crops and such and will have everyone work for their glory. He prefers to stay away from battle and tend to matters he sees as more important, but would not keep out from a bet or challenge. He’s known for holding the greatest feasts and celebrations, with no holding back on either food or drink. Thorstein lost his wife Elfrid in sickness many years ago and now only has his son Hallvor left. Feel free to keep spinning around his personality and history!



HALLVOR THORSTEINSSON (Tim Robbins)

Son of jarl Thorstein

Hallvor is one of those that would rather stay out of conflict – especially battles. He doesn’t care for either fighting or blood and think the whole thing is rather pointless. Caring for the horses and other animals is much more up his alley, and his father really doesn’t mind. Thorstein just laughs about the matter, saying he is just like his mother – but he doesn’t care much for others joking about his boy being a wimp. Hallvor is a thinker with much empathy and understanding for others. He is one of the few that can both read and write – as well as playing the lute. ATHENA ZORIA (Adrienne Wilkinson)

Daughter of the Amazon Queen

Athena is the queens first born daughter. She’s a warrior at heart and is good with her sword. Pride is important to her and she wants to bring glory to her mother and her people. Stubborn in her opinions she won’t let anyone tell her she’s wrong, and she was furious about the Vikings coming to Themiscyra. Athena sees men as weak and to see the Viking women bow down to their men makes her sick. Her greatest wish in life is to feel loved and recognized by her mother though, and it hurts her to feel her mother being so cold. But this is a secret she would never tell. CYRENE ZORIA (Jennifer Sky)

Daughter of the Amazon Queen

Cyrene is the youngest of the sisters and as opposed to Athena, she’s not so fond of fighting. Sure she can swing a sword – being taught how from an early age, but she prefers to have fun. A good laugh and company is better than blood and guts. Besides – she hates to see people hurt. Unlike her sister, Cyrene doesn’t hide the fact that she is disappointed and angry about their mother taking her job as queen more serious than her job as a mother. And who their father was is a question that has always spun in her mind. Besides – Cyrene is mighty curious about the Vikings and is actually glad they came. LIGEIA PEISINOE (Claire Stansfield)

Witch and medic of the Amazons

Ligeia is well known to be the skilled medic and witch among the amazons. She’s also rather feared due to her somewhat dark and mystical ways. The queen has known her all her life and trust Ligeia, and doesn’t interfere with her business. She has both a room in the fortress dungeon and a hut somewhere in the woods at her disposal. At least that’s the places known to others. Here you have a lot of options as far as her personality, history, goals etc. goes! This is definitely a character that can be done a lot with.

MYRINE ORTHIA (Danielle Cormack)

Councilor and general of the Amazons

Myrine is the queens councilor and a great archer. She’s a great spokes-person and is good at getting people on her side. Unlike the queen she’s in touch with her emotions and feelings combined with her wit and intelligence, and want it all to work together for the best results. Myrine is better at fixing other’s problems than her own though, and get’s rather uncomfortable if things get too personal. She takes pride in her duty and support the queen – even though she’s doesn’t always agree with her. XANTHIA DOLOPE (Kathryn Morris)

Teacher in the Amazon Academy

Xanthia is the one that is in charge of the youngest children and those that attend the academy. She loves kids and has a lot of knowledge. As for languages she writes and speaks many fluent. This girl has got a heart of the soft sort and wouldn’t turn her back on someone in need. Amazon or Viking – she would help any soul where she would sense the need. She believes in dialogue rather than fighting and does not carry weapons – which is rather rare for an Amazon. Xantia also likes to read, cook, clean and take care of things and others – tasks many Amazons mean is more suitable for men. Other than that you are free to spin around her personality and history, as well as decide her age!
