Chen Liu In 189 AD, Cao Cao in attempting to avoid arrest by the authorities over his failed assassination on Dong Zhuo fled to Chenliu which was then governed by his friend Zhang Miao. Upon settling down, Cao Cao recruited men of talent and soldiers and sent forged edicts to warlords across the country to overthrow the tyrant Dong Zhuo. Thus Chenliu became Cao Cao's foremost base of operations in his quest to gain control of the nation.  |
