Ok, so this was by far the best one of the three. The only thing i didin't like was the ending! Truthfully, it was well written and all that... but Nathaniel.... and kitty. Ahh.... (Don't wanna give away anything to people who don't know or does it not matter? Well, you know what i'm talking about anyway) They were suppossed to get together, but that obviously can't happen now... (I guess that would give something away, huh?) Stroud could always make a sequel to this trilogy... there's hope. Right? It's very thin and hardly detectable, but there's hope.

By the way (this is for Bowles), I'm reading "A Game of Chess" and it's really good. Just wanted to let ya know.

You can say spoilers in the Book 3 forum. In a month or two I'm going to take the spoiler warning down completely since the book's been out a while.

This was my favorite book also. I think Stroud's plot and his writing were top-notch in this one... I don't even have a complaint!

And I'm glad you like it. wink.gif

Hai, I agree that this was the best book in the Trilogy.
I was just a little attatched to Nathaniel.
Eh heh heh heh, I loved it though, when Bartimaeus was in him >D

I think we all were attached to Nathaniel. I am hoping for the improbbability of a sequel- thingy too. As for Kitty and Nathaniel, death does have an annoying way of putting a block on things. UNLESS, of course, he didn't actually die... but I'm sure all of you have heard the denial theory many times already.

Eh heh, the denial theory?

Nathaniel was saved by a man in a black helmet and token to safety, then we wakes up in a house and the guy in the helmet then says..

"Nathaniel, I am your father.."

I just ahd to do it, I am sorry.. I want a sequel as well.

I'd say that he's definitely dead, but if you want to give us any possibility that he's not dead, I'm sure we'd all listen. rolleyes.gif

I want a sequel so bad. I know Johnny lives in England... I was thinking about making signs and heading over there to protest... but that's just an idea. Don't worry. biggrin.gif

I think he lives in St. Albans, if you're wondering.

It was a pretty depressing ending, though.

Ooo! I'll join a protest! The end was depressing. The denial theory (or mine anyway) goes something along the lines of: Nathaniel didn't die when the staff broke (duh). He survived because a.) he had some magic residue left from Bartimaeus being inside him, b.) the blast threw him clear, c.)anything else that anyone (including Stroud) thinks of. Also, two other points are: Nathaniel assumed the blast would kill him. He's been wrong before! And, Nathaniel thought Kitty was dead at the end of book two. So she could think he was dead at the end of book three! My theory about a sequel is that saying it was a trilogy but actually making it more would be a Bartimaeus like trick. Relating to a sequel and the "presumed dead" thing, the would both feel guilty, blah blah blah, other person saved their life, etc. that would obivously end up with some romantic scene. As you can see, I spent a lot of time trying to convince myself here.

It's highly unplausible, but you can hope! If only Kitty had given him the Amulet (before Lime hit him - from there on out he was as good as dead) and just gotten the hell out of there, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Hey Rekhyt I like letter A. Good thinking.

I think my protest idea may actually work out, 2 people are now involved. (Your awesome Rekhyt) Any one else interested? We can go places, make a difference, blah blah blah... We're the NEW resistance! I feel so cool! lol... i guess it's more of a "resistance in denial", but never the less, i still feel cool!

Yes, go camp out outside Stroud's house. I'm sure that'll work.

Hey, although it was depressing, the ending felt really... right. I have to give him props for the way he finished it.

hmm... go camp outside his house? An even BETTER idea. biggrin.gif I'm not much of a camper (nasty woods, bugs, smelly... everything. nope...), but this is for the right cause.

The ending was very well-written, i'll give Stroud credit for that. What's the word... Closure. That's it, sad to say...
