Umm.. yes. While I don't have a specific example, they usually happen around the mercenary. Although it doesn't really fall here, there's always the Nathaniel vs. Mandrake thing.

Yea, the Nat vs. Mandrake thingy for me too. And I thought teh whole Barty and Kitty Golem thing showed something between those two. Like trust or friendship.

Well, that whole thing was trust. You know, Ptolemy trusted him, but he wouldn't ask anyone to do what he had done... that sort of thing.

ok. Well I think it was foreshadowing for their future relationship. It foreshadowed their trust.

Well, there was lots of things that were mentioned as an after thought, but ended up playing important roles in later books. Kitty in book 1, Ptolmey guise by Barty in Books. one and two. There were other too, I'm just to lazy to think of them right now.

Yes, but not until the finished the book. To name a few.

...Bartimaeus appearing in PG as Kitty, sitting tired to the point that she/he could barely move. -- Kitty after returning from the Other Place.

...Ptolemy sacrificing himself to save Bart. -- Nat sacrificing himself to save Bart.

...Ms Lut(something) rejecting his offer for a different job...or her having kept her old bag after all those years. --- Nat take on the name John, and then once again returning to his original name.

...

too many to list. that's probably why this series is by far my favorite.
