Allyria swept into the Great Lounge, a storm cloud swirling over her head. How dare the Headmaster give her detention just for being better than everybody else! She wanted to hex him. She wanted to hex everybody! She was furious and she didn't care who knew it.
"Expelliarmus!" she yelled at a stupid first year in the chair she wanted. He flew backwards, his wand soaring over to the other end of the room. She kicked his books away and plopped into the overstuffed beanbag chair he had been occupying, staring into the fire and smoldering. If the Headmaster thought she was going to obey him and go to detention, he was very, very wrong!

"Good day Miss. Cornwall," the Headmaster said suddenly, apparating next to her and sitting down.
"Such a lovely fire isn't it? Changes color you see," he said as he pointed at the fire as it changed from blue to green then to bright red.
"It seems that I must take a different approach with you Allyria, because you believe you are different than the rest of the students. I do not blame you. I dare say that I was similar in my younger years... So do you wish to explain yourself?" He then sat back and waited for a reply.

"Don't call me your 'dear'," Allyria snarled. "I'm nobody's dear. Nevermind about my father. It doesn't matter."
She stood up and started pacing. "Why is everyone in this school so uptight? So I can do magic, so I'm good at it! Why does everyone have to get on my back about it? Why can't everyone just relax?!" She clenched her fists, wishing she could punch something.

"The more important question is: why can't you relax? This is a school and there are rules, you break them, and thus you get punished. Simple as that. I did not punish you for being good at magic, you were punished for being disrespectful."

Aethie wandered in after class, looking morose. To her surprise, the Headmaster was in there, talking with Allyria. Deciding not to interupt them, she went and sat on the other side of the room, casting furtive looks at the two of them.

"I just don't want to be treated like a baby!" Allyria sneered. "I'm not a child, I don't need these stupid rules about behaving and all that - it's nonsense!"

Safirah wandered in at a liesurely pace, her long, slender wand tucked in her pocket, its tip poking through the cream-white linen. She slowly made her way to one of the tables, taking little notice of anybody else in the room. "Hmmm..." she thought as she cast a single icy glance at the two, than folded her arms on the table and lay her head there, looking rather tired.

Aethie noticed Safirah walk in and decided to go introduce herself. "Hi!" she said with a smile, going to sit beside her. "You're the new Spartim, right? I'm Aethie - I suppose we're going to be roommates," she smiled. "So how are you liking it here so far?"

Allyria breathed a sigh of relief as the Headmaster disapparated. "Thank Merlin," she breathed. "He's finally gone."
She then spotted Aethie talking to Safirah at one of the tables. Smirking, she unfolded her long limbs from the comfy beanbag chair and sauntered over to them. "Alright there, Mudblood?" she asked loudly. "I heard what you did to Dark - and let me tell you right now..." she leaned close so only Aethie could hear, "You will definitely regret it." She stood up, paused, and then said again, "Mudblood." Laughing quietly, she strutted from the Great Lounge, wondering if the baby was going to have the spunk to jinx her. Oh, how I would love the chance to jinx her... Allyria thought, half-hoping that Aethie would do it. She fingered her wand expectantly as she walked.

Aethie watched Allyria go, breathing heavily. Her fingers were clenched tightly around her wand, and she would have loved nothing more than to jinx that stuck-up brat while her back was turned - but no, she'd lost Spartim enough points - she would have to control that particular urge...
With an extreme amount of self-control, she forced herself to smile blandly at Safirah, and ignored the anger pounding through her veins. "I'm not even Muggle-born," she said loudly. "My mum was a witch - I'm not sure why they're calling me a mudblood anyway." She shrugged, trying to look indifferent. "I guess if they're going to be prats, they can."
Too bad the Headmaster wasn't here, she thought wryly. Surely Spartim deserves points for me not jinxing that little brat.
