"It will take place in the Stone Forest and students will be expected to find Bowtruckles and collect skin flakes for use in potions class. The students will be expected to know where to find Bowtruckles and how to subdue them to collect the flakes." Professor Obsidian read from the announcement sheet to himself. He then threw it over his shoulder, "Most dull. I should at least be allowed to make it difficult for them. A little blood never hurt no one."

He pulled out a snack he prepared earlier to help him pass the time. Only one team was assigned for this early mission, and they still had a little while to actually show up. The Headmaster also agreed to oversee the students from the outside, something that Obsidian was sure would just make the mission even more dull. The Headmaster would probably jump in at the first sign of danger, where he would let the students face it themselves.

For the moment, Obsidian just yawned and waited for everyone to arrive.

Dark walked up to the group while observing his surroundings.

"Interesting place this Forest. But why would we go into a creepy forest just for Bowtruckles? Surely there's a catch..." Dark muttered...

(I don't know why I'm here...), Arbiter thought as he followed the others. (Oh right, because it's an easy mission) Arbiter checked his pockets to make sure he remembered to bring his wand. He sometimes forgot to bring it with him and it often led to embarrassing situations. He found his wand and gave it a few swings to make sure it was actually working.

"Ah the second years." Obsidian said without looking at the students. "More teams might show up, and the Headmaster is supposed to show up too, But..." he turned his head towards the students and smiled, "...go ahead and get started. I'll be outside the forest, but I expect you not to call for help unless you really need it. Now get going, will you?"

"Fine Fine I'm going." Arbiter moved toward the forest, making sure to look back at the other students. They were on a team after all and it looked like they had to work together. Who knows what was waiting for him in the forest. The last thing he wanted to run into was a dragon, or something like that and have to deal with it himself.

Dark nodded at Arbiter as he looked back. It seems all the team members knew there there was more to this than finding Bowtuckles.

As they walked Dark spoke up.

"Such a strange place. Do you think the rumors are true about this forest? That Asabe moves these pillars of rock to destroy a village? It seems far fetched to me, as all rumors are."

Obsidian took out his first snack, a simple baked turkey leg and tore a piece off and started to eat it. This was certainly better then having to teach a class, he would expected just to sit by and only interfere if the students did something really stupid, like face a dragon or something. He still wondered if the Headmaster was going to show up, so he started to think about throwing a few extra challenges the students way. He has always had a desire to test the upcoming generation and see how prepared they were for future conflicts.

"Excuse my lateness Professor Veer. The first team is out I see, very good." Said the headmaster who apparated next to Veer and stared at him tearing off the burnt flesh of the turkey leg.

"What?" Moor responded to, what looked like, Dark's attempts to scare them. "Oh great more bothersome things to deal with here." Moor reached into his pocket and took out a piece a paper that was torn out of a book. "Let's see we'd better find a tree that decent for making wands. That's where Bowtruc... what ever they are, hang out in."

Some time past and Obsidian threw the bone from the snack he finished on the ground. "Let's see. I think they've been in there long enough." He said to the Headmaster, "I think it's about time we sent a littl challenge their way, so what do you think it should be? Perhaps a Dementor should be sent... or a some sort of beast." He held out his wand, "The forest tends to get very boring these days. I remember when there used to be a lot of action going on."
