Victorie ran her hands though her soft red hair as she walked down the street of a small muggle town. She was out on a mission: to bring back a young girl by the name of Kiara Luxe back to the resistance. Tori had only turned 17 a few months ago, and this was here first official job she had been set out on, so naturally, she was nervous.

A few days ago, Victoire had gone into a muggle town that had been overrun with Death Eaters, just as so many others had, and began searching for any muggleborn children that were hiding there. To her delight, she had found Kiara and struck a deal with her mother to bring her to this small town that had been left alone by the Death Eaters so far, so Victoire could bring the girl in to safety. At first, the girl's mum didn't know weather to trust Victoire or not, but after a brief conversation, she realized that she didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

It was now three days later, and Tori was now on her way to meet up with the family and guide the girl back to the headquarters, where she would be housed and educated. Kiara was only thirteen years old, and it was a lot of pressure to know you are responsible for such a young life.

Victoire looked down at her hands and noticed that they were shaking rather fiercely. She clasped one in the other, trying to get a hold of herself, but it only quieted the trembling, instead of silencing it all together.

Rigid went Victoire's entire body as she her internal warning siren went off. Was the man behind her following her? Now that she thought about it, she was almost positive that he was. Victoire stood up straighter and held her head higher. Her nerves were shaken, and she could feel the man's eyes staring into the back of her head, but she would not allow herself to crumple under the pressure; after all, she had always been taught to never show fear in the face of the enemy, but she sure kept an eye on him in each passing window.

As the cafe she was to be meeting the Luxe's in came into view, she relaxed a bit when the man walked ahead of her and began examining the window display of a neighboring shop across the street. Even though it seemed like the man no longer held an interest in Tori, she still could not shake the feeling of the man being up to something.

Victoire entered the cafe and quickly located the Luxe's. She briskly walked over to them, only giving the man outside one last glance and cleared her throat. "Mrs. Luxe? Hello." she said in her slight French accent. "It is nice to see you again." She extended her had to the woman before turning to young Kiara. Seeing how young she was, and knowing her life was in danger as long as they were out in the open, just reminded Victoire of just how real this war really was. She had always know how grave it was, but this really solidified it in Victoire's mind.

Smiling softy at Kiara, Victoire held waved and said, "Hi, I'm Tori. Don't worry, I'm going to keep you safe." she said in the most reassuring voice she could muster.

Kiara drummed her fingers impatiently, as she sat in the café with her mother. They had been there nearly an hour already, waiting for a girl to come and meet them. She wondered what could be so important that they had to sit there and wait. Kiara hadn’t been told why this girl was to meet them, or what would happen to her, but she knew from her mothers’ edginess that it couldn’t be good. Her mother had made her get up early to drive to this strange place, mumbling to herself in a low voice that Kiara could barely hear. When they had arrived her mother had gotten a coffee for herself and a hot chocolate for Kiara. They sat and sipped their drinks, waiting patiently for the girl to come. Kiara remembered her mother mentioning the girls’ name before. Victoire she had said, that was the girls’ name. Kiara had only gotten a brief glimpse of the her the other day. Things had been confusing and scary for Kiara, only 13 years old, and she hadn’t known what was going on. Yet here she sat, waiting for a stranger to take her somewhere.

Kiaras’ head jerked up when the bell on the door to the café jingled. A girl with soft red hair walked in briskly and came over to them. The girl, Kiara assumed was Victoire, said hello to her mother. Then she turned to Kiara and said hello, and not to worry because Victoire would keep her safe. Kiara looked at Victoire and nodded, then looked to her mother, whose eyes were sad as they gazed at her. She hugged her mother tightly before saying goodbye. Kiara then turned to Victoire and said “Alright, I’m ready to go now.”

Kiara didn’t know where they were going, but she knew that the reason they were leaving was not good. Somewhere in the pit of her stomach Kiara could tell that horrible things would happen, and that if she wasn’t prepared she may never see her mother again. So she put her trust in this stranger, and hoped for the best, while expecting the worst.
