now, this is a poll, but you can also discuss it here.
i say yes, it fits in with their sound then. it definatly wouldn't belong now though! i really enjoy the older songs on the dvds, like enter and candles. also the other half is really cool on TSF tour. -------------------- |

it would be fun if they made more with growling...however, they'd have to make a major shift in style for that to happen.

well, for growling, the energy is pushed up from the gut. not the throat. Throat growling is what caused a degree of damage i think.

hahaha i didn't know it was called that! you learn something everyday.
except now that my family has heard enter, everytime people ask what music i listen to, they go 'it has growlers!'  but hey when i first heard i was like EEEEWWWW and if you'd told me i'd like it 3 years ago i wouldn't have believed you. -------------------- |

I don't think it doesn't fit their style now, take Epica for an instance, they got pretty soft songs with growls, it's all about what you want to express with the music. They just don't want to use it anymore, I guess. I guess The Howling is a song that would go well with growls. And maybe Forsaken. Just listen to them and try to imagine some lines with a background growl, the songs wouldn't be even heavier.

I guess it's 'cos I got into them after they'd stopped using the growls so listening to them with growls just sounded weird.
