Good day all,

I am curious where people are buying their bags for storing food. Also, related - what about oxygen and water absorbers. There seem to be a lot of options out there - and i hope to leverage any research on pricing others have done.

thanks a ton!

Jeremy C.

I bought my Mylar bags through amazon. You can buy a bundle where you get 50 1gal. mylar bags and 50 300cc oxygen absorbers for $25 plus s/h. My vacuum bags I buy at a farm & home store where I live...their the cheapest. But walmart, meijer, kroger/payless are a few stores that sell the vacuum bags for the food saver machines. Also you can check out discountmylarbags.com to compare pricing.

I was just about to post the same places that hoosier did for the vaccum bags.

By the way, not many people have posted this, but if you dehydrate stuff for storage, adding one of the small O2 absorbers to a quart mason jar with your dehydrated fruits and veggies, will create a slight vaccum when you seal the jar, and the lid will ping and seal just like it does if you were canning.

Dehydrated stuff stored this way will store for 20-30 years.

JUST SO YOU KNOW. smile.gif
