Okay people have been asking about Hyenas....
and I guess I could let a few things slip.... but at the minute I dont feel ready. The reason for this is that I don't have a very good name for them. They are called Dolorm at the minute, but to me that just sounds lame. They need a bad ass name! So does anyone want to make suggestions? They need to sound like a bad ass bunch who wont take crap from any body. I need something fearsome, to strike fear into the hearts of other nations. So...any thoughts? -------------------- "...the details escape me right now."

What do you mean, lame?
Dolorm sounds almost like "dolorem" which is Latin accusative case of "dolor" meaning "pain". That's a pretty metal name! I does sound like it likes a vowel somewhere. Hmm... EDIT: Dolorei? A bit too elfish to the ear, but pretty close to the root word... I'll come up with something. -------------------- 2160/9001 Harko-points

I suppose my temporary name of "Hyenamen" doesn't work.
The name should really depend on the culture. You said that they need a bad ass name, and that they don't take crap from anyone, so I'd imagine they're pretty warlike, but were they influenced by an actual historical culture? -------------------- 3330 Harkopoints

But why Asian-sounding names? I don't care if these are going to anthropomorphized, essentially made to be something that has its similarities with a hyena begin and end with looking like a hyena, I just can't connect this thing with an Asian name:

Nuupoku (it was Nuunpoku hark but I'll let you decide if you choose it) actually sounded african to me (Yes I know that Africa is a continent not a country, but I don't know enough of the different cultures in africa to say what the name sounds like)
Just imagine a man or woman with a deep accent you would find in africa saying Nuupoku. To me it works (Yes I assume the hyena people are possibly african. As said earlier there are a ton of african tribes in every country of africa. So having some races similar makes sense to me) -------------------- lets see

Guys, please... I know Nuupoku sounds fine, BUT THEN! I remembered why it brings to mind a fluffy herbivore
Just please... something else. But it's up to you Hark. @Renard Of course that little cuddly guy looks Asian. Compare: (Posted Image) That's the Yamato-Damashii! -------------------- 2160/9001 Harko-points
