About 3 days ago I found out this game is one of the original Xbox games supported on the 360. Needless to say, I jizzed greatly in my pants and immediately went on Amazon and bought it. I played this game when I was about 10 years old and immediately fell in love with it. Up until about a year ago I completely forgot about it. However there was a kid in a biology class that I was a teacher's aid for, and one day him and some kids were talking about horror movies and games they'd seen/played. Suddenly the kid brought up Fatal Frame and instantly all those memories of that scary as all hell game came back. Needless to say I fell in love for a second time. I instantly threw my thoughts in the conversation with nothing more than a "That game is the scariest shit I have ever played" 'Nuff said comment. We then got into a very long reminiscence about the game and discussed our favorite parts. I only having it for a week when I was 10 had some fairly limited knowledge on it, but it is the type of game that even those first few episodes in game and a person is scarred for life. Later that week I went online to see if I could find a copy and quickly discovered that with only a 360 and a Wii, unless I wanted to import direct from japan there was nothing I could do to rekindle my love for the franchise. Recently, however, I had been going on a scary game binge, and I was looking at lists for the scariest games of all time, and wherever I seemed to look, Fatal Frame kept on popping up in the top 4 positions (besides one very crappy list that had Bioshock as the 3rd scariest game ever. Bioshock? Wtf?) Following this I decided to re-evaluate my options for dipping back in the franchise considering now I have a debit card with some decent money on it. I already knew about Fatal Frame 2: Directors Cut being a rework of the second on to the Xbox platform , but I always figured it was such an obscure title that it wouldn't be supported on the 360. Considering I had never actually checked any sort of list to see if it was supported, I decided to then. Wikipedia you lovely son of a bitch; I just about jumped for joy when I saw those Fatal letters appear on the screen. Now I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. If you have yet to hear of the Fatal Frame 2, I strongly urge you to watch some walkthrough or video of some person playing (preferably the attic scene.) So that there is my most recent love affair.
