be sure to post all the great places you've found to steal from

Well, here it is, for all us "non-exploiting" theives out there, we gotta earn out money, the hard way, and alot of it comes from stealing, and if theres one thing you need, it's shit to sell, good shit, and in order to get that shit, you gotta steal it, and in order to steal it, you gotta steal it from somewhere, and that, my freind, is what this thread is dedicated to: Big raids, and expensive shit, sounds fun.

But first, you gotta to have a couple things

1.}A membership in the thieves guild, your gonna have to sell your merchandise to someone, and regular merchants won't do, here is a list of the fences, fence location, quest requirement, and fence $:

Name---------------------$$$$$--Location------------------------quest requirment
Ongar the world weary--600----Bruma--------------------------May the best thief win
Dar Jee---------------------800-----Leyawiin-----------------------The elven maiden
Luciana Galena-----------1,000---Bravil----------------------------Misdirection
Orrin-----------------------1,200---Castle Anvil--------------------Taking care of Lex
Fathis Ules----------------1,500---Imperial city,elven gardens---Arrow of extraction

Now, some good places to steal from are:

1.}Chapels(alot of silver, wine, and books)
2.}Castles(check in all the bedrooms, alot of the time some clothing and jewelry
3.}Weapon/armor shops(always have heavy, but expensive, weapons and armor)
4.}Castle guard barracks(another weapon/armor source
5.}Mages guild halls(often a source of soul gems, alchemy equipment, ingredients, and books)
5.}Fighters guild halls(more weapons/armor/books/ingredients)

One of my all time favorite places to steal from would be the Arcane University of the Imperial City. All you need to do is complete the very easy recommendation quests to gain access to this thieves lair. Once access is gained, simply wait until night time. Enter the Mages' Quarters, and save. Start pickpocketing all of the mages. There is a 100% chance that they will all have enchanted daggers, and often some other magical equipment. If you get caught, simply reaload and try again. Great way for a thief to make a living :).

I've found a great place was the Chorrol Mages guild, they often have a wide variety of soul gems (even grand!) and alot of alchemy equipment, I think I got about 1.5K from that place.

donutdevil235 - June 27, 2006 02:29 AM (GMT)
just dupe a stolen item and sell them to a fence

traven'sadoosh - June 27, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
mystic emporium...you know, with calindil?
specifically, when you enter the place, if you go straight ahead of you, in the corner there should be a kind of counter thing, and there are fortify fatigue pants and feather boots, each with a hefty sum...plus there are soul gems galore around the shop in random places...

"just dupe a stolen item and sell them to a fence"
I don't dupe, I think it's ridiculous to exploit the game that way

No, it is only stealing if you are detected. And maybe if you got your acrobatics up enough, you could just jump over the gate. :P

Dai-Katana - June 30, 2006 12:41 AM (GMT)
a little off-topic, but I just got marksman to 50 for the first time, the zoom feature really helps.

Zoom?

Dai-Katana - June 30, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
yeah, once reaching a skill of 50 in marksman, you can hold block while a arrow is notched, and it zooms in.

That would be so good. I just got the cool bow from DB.

I really is quite helpful, especially when killing from long range, or hunting deer, wolves, mountain lions, or bears.

I rarely usr Marksman. I can kill most things/people with one blade swipe if I sneak. Only a few swipes if they spot me first. My reflect damage can go up to 113% if I wear everything I've got.

Dai-Katana - June 30, 2006 01:40 AM (GMT)
Yes, but I prefer a bow for my stealthy characters, it really is quite fun.

I'll give it a go.

Dai-Katana - June 30, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
It makes it alot easier to stay concelealed with the bow+zoom, you can snipe the enemy off, and since you are far awaym the guards will not even run after you(while using a blade, if you kill someone, and a guard does not detect you, you can still be caught  , I don't know why)

attismum - July 1, 2006 12:11 AM (GMT)
I've murdered loads of people, between thieves guild and DB + accidents. I've never gotten a bounty or been chased. Not even for thievery actually, guess I'm just super sneaky.

Dai-Katana - July 1, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
accidents happen

Bloody stupid mages/guards standing in front of you just as you swing <_<

My first "murder" wasn't a murder or an accident. I did the quest where you go to the farmhouse outside of Anvil to join/be duped by the sirens. All three attacked me, when I killed the last one I got the 'somebody watching' notice. I reloaded and she definately attacked first. Lechance turned up and I was stuck with Blade of Woe for months until I dcided to join DB.

My second "murder" was the Gray Prince.

Now, even though I've had several 'acidents' and killed numerous people for DB quests, my sats still say I've only murdered 7 people. They also say I've never trespassed. I'm the Gray Fox! Never mind my personal thieving missions.
