I personally don't have a PS3 and I'm not really interested in Uncharted...

BUT

I would like to point out that Uncharted is one of those games that actually scored a perfect 10 in Game Informer magazine, which I personally have never seen. Thought I'd pass that along for those that care.

I don't put much stock in Game Informer (too biased to read, too glossy to wipe with) but I would have to agree with their assessment of Uncharted. It really is a sweet game, with characters who aren't jerks and action that's both fun and refreshingly unique. Only problem is that I can't actually play it past the first couple of chapters thanks to bugs in the system's firmware. I'm downloading an update right now, which will hopefully finish sometime in the next thirty years. When it's done I can refresh the firmware and finally get back into the action!

On a related note, Uncharted 2 is shaping up to be the game of the year. I've only played a few hours, but man, the game is awesome.

Is the gunplay a little better? I was getting sick of killing wave after monotonous wave of mercenaries in the original. No, not more! Dammit, give me a break already!

If you want gunplay why not try Borderlands? I'm playing now and can't get enough. It's semi-twitchy shooter action with four classes and some pretty cool leveling and class building. I don't understand why this formula hasn't worked before.

I've been hearing great things about it but right now there are way too many games for me to afford. Borderlands will have to be put on the backburner... if I do well in my remaining two classes this semester I'll buy the game (and probably others) in January.

Trust me, I've got plenty to play until then. I've only started Valkyria Chronicles and I just received Demon's Souls in the mail. That, plus Uncharted, plus Motorstorm, plus Lost Odyssey, plus BlazBlue, plus all the old games I haven't finished, will keep my thumbs dancing for the rest of the year.

You should definately play Lost Odyssey next. Made by the same dude that did the Final Fantasy series. It falls apart a little at the end but I think it has some of the absolute most emotional writing I have ever seen in ANY RPG ever. The "dreams" are some of the most outstanding story telling I've witnessed in any game, period.
