The mildly rotund man chuckled quietly, hands going back into their coat pockets... in spite of the death threat, he seemed remarkably calm - likely because he had presumed rather correctly that he was perfectly safe at this point... if he was going to kill him, he would have simply done so already... "Oh no, my boy... I've plenty enough guards already - I'd simply gotten a bit... lax on my walk - a mistake I won't be making again.
The fact is... I could see to it that that bounty of yours is swept from the board... However - I believe your talents would be better served in a place where they could be used to the assistance of others, don't you agree...?" He spoke quite smoothly, pulling a golden-cased pocket-watch from his coat to idly check the time, before putting it back into place...
"... The marines would find a valuable recruit in you, couldn't they? Were some... questionable actions to be forgotten."

Masura crossed his arms, staring at the man. "And what will you get out of this? there must be a reason as to why you want a pirate in the marines, seing as this will make you lose standing with them." He asked, going over the bodies of the bandits instead of waiting.
"And even if i say yes, what guarantee is there that i won't destroy the navy from inside or that they kill me as soon as i join?"

He chuckled quietly, idly stepping away from the corpses... "Honestly? I already said I don't like having debts, boy..." He spoke, seeming quietly amused as he turned to face him after stopping; in spite of his state before, he seemed remarkably formidable, even if not for reasons of combat...
"As for destroying them from the inside... I do not mean to downplay your own abilities by saying this, but we both know you're not capable of such on your own... There's no man who can." And he did make a rather good point on that... "I'm not quite sure why you're being so resistive... you've a chance to start again, with a clean slate - there've been countless men happily willing to kill for that chance... Of course, I suppose you did, didn't you?" He rhetorically queried... but it was definitely something to ponder... granted - it was likely saying 'yes' was more of a formality anyway...

Masura calmly glanced at the rotund man, he was right, but he seemed to be hiding something. "There are other ways to repay a debt, and i've retired from sailing and fighting, the only reason i set out was to find the legendary One Piece."
He got up after searching the corpses, deciding he'd give them a proper burial later.

"Unfortunate that you're so hesitant about all of this..." He spoke, quietly shaking his head as he turned to leave... "... You'll recieve your uniform in a week or two, Mr. Shinigo - I suggest you settle your affairs in short order; they tend to heckle new recruits something fierce, or so I hear.." He spoke with some amusement as he walked off - completely ignoring anything else Masura might have had to say on the matter; the fact that he didn't bother to actually ask where Masura lived was likely irrelivent... if he had enough pull to get a wanted criminal into the marines, it was certain that he'd be able to find him, even if he went into hiding...
"Do enjoy yourself in the marines, my boy... It's rather vigorous work."

Masura grunted, knowing he had no option unless he struck the man down, but it would go against his beliefs. "Looks like i'm going to be a marine, what a strange world this is." He mumbled, taking the bodies to a nice place to be buried, it was the least he could do.
