Fruit description: The Magu Magu no Mi, as stated above, is a logia-type devil fruit that has been wielded by quite the colorful cast of characters over the years. Despite giving the user power over lava, the fruit is a cyan colored pear, with the typical swirls. As with any other logia, the user gains control over their element, as well as control over the lava in their environment, at advanced levels of control. The fruit's powers have only been observed in earnest when they were used by Admiral Akainu. He used the fruit to supplement his punches, as well as create massive pools of lava. Additionally, this fruit has strength over fire. That is, lava is a stronger element than fire, so it can defeat fire users easily. How lava relates to other elements has yet to be seen, but this fruit has an obvious weakness, which will be apparent to science buffs reading this article.
In addition to the standard weaknesses of a devil fruit, the user is vulnerable to large amounts of liquids. It has been observed that this liquid will turn the user's lava into inert earth, which cannot be re-ignited into lava so long as it is wet. The fruit was also observed to be completely useless against the Phoenix mythic zoan, and the fire it generates. If the user does not supplement their skills with something, this would likely prove fatal in a fight between Phoenix and lava. Finally, as a note, the fruit has an odd effect on the personalities of their wielders, to a degree: They have an odd fixation with the color red, usually taking a liking to a specific shade.
Sample of usage: (dramatized)
"
You'd better give 'em what they want, sir..." a weak, shy looking girl said. She, and the man protecting her, were surrounded by six men who resembled dogs more than they did men. "
I feel you should not worry," her protector began. His hands were crossed in front of him, as if bound by some unseen rope, "
These men will not leave here alive, this much is certain. They will not die by this," a single hand, clad in black leather, reached to stroke the hilt of a fine sword, "
I know this. They will die as befits a dog." from underneath a deep cowl, and a deeper beard as scarlet as blood, chapped lips could be seen smiling as some of the men moved in closer. "
And how're you going to take on six men at once, huh old man?" they were young pups, and they thought as much. It was a shame that they wouldn't grow to be wolves, that much was true. "
You shall receive one warning, this much I will give. If you leave now, this will be forgotten. This I know." at this, they laughed in his face. The man in the lead grabbed the short guardian by the scruff of his neck. "
And how're you going to manage to kill us?"
The smile only widened.
"
With a little help from fools who grab my neck, truthfully." the man's screams of pain were heard throughout the deserted alleyway that this story set them in. He reached back, tears welling up in his eyes. What covered his hands...was lava. It was burning through skin, flesh, tissue, even bone, leaving him with no hand at all. The other five looked with five, and the cowled gentleman stepped forward, looking at them. "
You were warned." The palm of his right hand, if they noticed, turned from regular flesh to lava, and it swirled as if in a small, self-contained whirlpool. The cowled gentleman grabbed another man by the head, his screams filling the air as well as he pushed him towards another man. When their heads were close to one another, he muttered the name of an attack. The lava in the stranger's palm exploded out, with a great deal of force, blowing clean through the head. The lava hit the other man square in the chest, mortally wounding him as the hungry, orange liquid ate away at him. There were two men left, and he advanced on them swiftly. They backed away slowly as he approached, obviously afraid. His pace was faster than theirs, though, and he swiftly grabbed them both by the heads, smashing them together.
As their bodies fell, he forced his elbows down, one for each of their backs. The girl would be able to see two orange blades piercing their middles, and the men soon fell, dead. The cowled strange stood himself up, and glanced back at the girl with a smile. "
You have been spared humility and a slow death. This task requires no thanks." After a quick bow, he turned and walking away, leaving the charred bodies there with the girl. He could hear the girl looting already...hopefully they'd have something worth a pretty penny for her to sale.
