As promised, I said I would still post up stories about Alumette's goings-on from time to time. This just sort of came to me today, so I thought I'd post it.

It is a TOTALLY open RP so whoever wants in, write yourself in, and we'll roll with whatever people come up with.

Here is what I know:

1. Grace is back in PCity to investigate/run interference on a lead that she and Shadow have for the Watchlight stuff that they are working on. She was headed to DPHQ to set up part of that investigation. No one knows this but her, although some characters may have a suspicion that that is what she's working on.

2. The heroes at the scene of my first post could be anyone, so if you want for one of them to be your character, write it in. The heroes present were, of course, victorious against the Thorns (although some aspect of the battle may have lasting effects, or may dovetail with someone else's story--either new or ongoing--if you like. Write it in if it suits you!)

3. Grace got to DP Medbay because either a DPer was at the battle scene with the Thorns, or the cabbie dropped her off because that's where she asked to go and the HQ was closer than the hospital (and in his panic at her injuries he rushed her there after the battle). It doesn't matter to me, I just wanted to get her to DP Medbay somehow. So write that in however, if you feel so inclined.

4. I'm assuming Elinor has at least taken care of her immediate wounds and gotten her stabilized. Whether Grace stays at DP Medbay or is released to a hospital is up to Elinor's medical opinion and DP Officers' judgment vis a vis regulations. So write up whatever.

5. I have only a very loose plotline for this, so nothing is set in stone except the first post I've got there. So feel free to write whatever your character would do in that situation. Is your character part of the battle with the Thorns in the first scene? Does that have bigger-picture/lasting implications for your toon? Is your character at HQ or in Medbay when Grace arrives? What does that make your toon think/feel/do, seeing her again? Is your char new to DP and have no idea who this Grace lady is? etc. etc.

I'm glad to have the RP bug biting me again!

Pretty much my idea is Oort is the reason for the concussion, because of a tactic that I've developed for the PB, the dive bomb. IronJack has seen it, and it's pretty fun to do sometimes, and works in a cinch when in trouble.

And yes, he's hanging around, maybe not nearby, waiting to give an apology.

It looks fine. The thing about Darling is he is pretty much a stickler for the rules; but he's not necessarily an ass about it. He just gets flustered when the rules aren't followed; he doesn't quite know how to function outside them. So imagine your most accountantiest accountant, and put him in a British old-guard paramilitary superhero organization, and that's him. ;)

Okie dokie. I can have Lummy wallow in medbay for as long as anyone wants to come by and sympathize over her; otherwise I can cut right to the action and have her involve DPers in the case. Let me know if you have a "bedside" post in the works, and I'll wait; otherwise let me know if you're interested in putting your toon to work to fight crime with Lummy, and I can get into that.

I've got a ton of content in my head; I can pace it out for as long as anyone wants, just let me know what your posting interests are. :)

Next post is up. FYI I have changed the timeline of earlier posts a bit, to make it fit better with the overall storyline.

Grace is beginning her investigation in earnest now; anyone who cares to jump in, feel free. It will take a lot more than just her and Taff to get to the bottom of this. Most of the thread will involve investigation of Family activity, so if your toon has busted some Family lately (either in game or in your imagination), feel free to write it in.

Not included in my posts, but general background knowledge for color, that you may want to include:

1. Family activity is happening normally; I can work in whatever your toon turns up in busts, etc. to my overall plotline, so let your imagination run wild. Same for Tsoo and Skulls and any other organized crime groups out there.

2. Grace is very glad to be back in DP and is enjoying seeing old friends/meeting new ones.

3. Grace is/was very grateful to Taff and Oort for saving her. I did not feel comfortable writing for those characters so I left those scenes off, but the fact that Taff suffered an injury in getting her to HQ did not go unnoticed.

4. Shadow's whereabouts are completely unknown and there is some speculation as to whether or not Grace and he are still together.

Anyone else who wants in, say so here and I will write up a post of a briefing meeting in which Lum will let your toon know any details he/she needs to know before moving the plot forward. That way people will have a bit more direction once things get underway and will be better equipped to frame their posts.

Please include the following in your post here in the OOC thread if you want to be included in this part of the storyline:

1. Your toon that you want in
2. His/her motivations for wanting to help with the investigation
3. How he/she heard about the investigation
4. Any other details I should know

Once I have this info I can write up a post that dovetails it all together to get us all on the same page.

In the meantime, if you have your own ideas, feel free to post away in the IC thread! It's hard to "break" one of my stories, so don't fret. :)

Okay, so it looks like the current cast of characters is:

1. Taff
2. OHW
3. Scar
4. Oort
5. Lummy

I can always add other people in later if you'd like. Or you can add yourself by writing your toon in. Totally open so feel free.

Lummy has just called a briefing meeting (the subject of my latest IC post in the thread) explaining as much of the situation as she is able to.

You can choose any criminal organization you wish for your toon to go after. Some ideas if you're stumped: Tsoo, Malta, Family, Hellions. However I don't really care which criminal organizations you use; I can make the story work however. So you can pick one of those or one that's not on the list, there. Up to you.

In the IC post, I have Taff holding a "Family" folder. I just did this for color. Taff, if you want to go after some other group, feel free. I assume all those present will go after whatever groups they want and will swap folders and work together however, so do what you like.

I would like those involved to post some "action" threads about a bust on your chosen criminal group. You can work together or separately, with other teammates (not in the "orignal cast list"), or solo. However you want. Your "bust" posts should include:

1. Successful foiling of the criminal attempt (robbery, theft, intercepted shipment, dropoff of contraband for cash, etc. Whatever an organized crime group would do, your post can bust).

2. Financial records that include several months' worth of payouts to "Cent Phares, Inc."

Your posts can include (but they do not have to):

1. Any information from your character's point of view about the debriefing meeting with Grace, or anything else so we can see inside your toon's head.

Lastly, in exchange for these favors, Grace will be delivering up more intel for your toon, so if you have several bust ideas in mind, have at them.

I have not seen Oort on the boards lately. Will it matter if he is unable to "play" his part?

Also, is there a time frame to post? This will take some research on my part and I'll need a day or two to sort it out.

It shouldn't matter terribly much of Oort is not able to play his part. I assumed he wanted in because he'd written himself in before, but if he isn't interested in participating beyond that, it's cool.

Re: time limit--nope! As you get around to it/as the inspiration hits. As long as it doesn't drag out too long. ;)

I put a limit on the "me too!" part simply because I wanted to have a cut-off for my own post. But of course that is fluid too because even after this point if someone wants in they can just write themselves in to an action/"bust" post. :)

So no worries, Scar. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

As a total aside, it just now occurred to me (because I'm listening to her) that French singer Mylene Farmer would be a perfect person to play Scar in the Dawn Patrol movie. :) Here she is in action. Ignore the cheeseball choreography; the interview at the end shows her more as a "real" person. Put an eyepatch on her, and you've got Scar, IMO.

You are not stupid. :) The stories are complex. But don't blame me, blame Shad. All my good stories are actually his ideas. He has the ideas, I have the time to write them. And I can't begin to tell you how many times I have to call him and say, "Okay, so the Family mob boss is doing WHAT, now? So how do they find out about the shipment, again? And what's the significance of the purple binder?" etc.


Our conversations usually go something like this:

ME: Did you see my new RP post?

SHAD: Yeah, what are you planning to do?

ME: I dunno, this scene just popped in my head, so I wrote it up. I was thinking some bad guys were going to try something and then they would stop it. I thought I'd just figure it out as I went along.

SHAD: *facepalm* Okay, what are the bad guys doing?

ME: I dunno, I was going to wait and find out, kind of see how it developed as I went along.

SHAD: Hm. Okay, how about... (some massively awesome intricate plotline)

ME: O.o that is awesome!

...and then a really long conversation follows in which the poor guy has to reiterate the details over and over so I can keep the intrigues all straight. :)

Nope, I'm only posting here. He checks the board when I mention I have a new RP in the works, but AFAIK that's it.

I do talk to him almost daily, though, so if you needed to get in touch with him for some reason I could pass some information along.
