Hey guys,

It turns out that I am going to another theme park and I will be going to Six Flags Great America twice between next Thursday and the Wednesday after that so around that time.

I am so EXCITED!!! I can't wait to get my three new credits (V2, American Eagle, and Deja Vu) that I missed out last summer. I will be going with a lot of my friends and family that live in the city so there might be a ton of us from 5 year olds to high school kids so yeah.

Viper958 or anyone, are you going to Great America around that time?

As a matter of fact, I am, but its next Sunday. Not Thursday or Wednesday.

and here is what to ride and what to be shocked about.:

V2 has had an increase in speed, you barely miss the top now, its a must ride in the 2nd or 1st row.

Demon has new logos on their trains.

Raging bull has a new station.

American eagle's extra large entrance dome has been demolished to make room for Wiggles world.

revolution right next to the American Eagle spins more and goes higher now!

and Ragin' Cajun still sucks dry.gif

I think thats it, oh wait, there is the new stunt show directed by the creators of 24. I haven't seen it yet though.

And yes, I know, Sunday is the worst day to go, but its for free with my dad's work wink.gif

EDIT: no wait, I'm lying. I go this Sunday.

and Alex, tell me when you are going to Kiddieland; I live only a little less that 15 minutes away from it! laugh.gif

Sorry man, no Kiddieland. My mom wouldn't pay 20 bucks to go there, lets just say that. Although I would take advantage of the free soda. rolleyes.gif

I think I am going to go on Sunday, July 1st, and Monday July 2nd. It is not set in stone yet so Viper, I am going to be in Chicago between June 27th and July 4th. Do you think the park would be packed or empty on the Fourth because everyone is having picnics and stuff and it is a Wednesday.

Viper, tell me the best days although I don't think we can go on the 27th because we are busy and Friday and Saturday would probaly be bad, but I wouldn't know as well as you do.

Also, Ragin Cajun has always sucked. How much as Raging Bull's station changed, it will be interesting to see the changes from last year.

4th, I cant say for sure, last year we went for mothers day, it was empty. laugh.gif

well the raging bull station look cleaner now so to speak, actually, the whole park does, I'm kind of proud to say its my home park laugh.gif

And Im sorry, I go the 25 THIS sunday. But Never go on sunday! No matter what its packed. and depending on how long u usually stay, keep to the rides. Wiggles world is bigger than camp cartoonetwork BTW. And it may be less crowded the day before the 4 of July wink.gif

but here is the order you should hit the rides:

-Get there at opening time

1. run strait to V2, no matter what, just go there first. That line can get long, but it is short in the morning. And if its short try to get 1st or 2nd row. extremely awesome there.
2. Run back to superman, no matter what.that is also a long line for how short that ride is.
3. Deja Vu may not be open. So don't really worry about it.
4. Hit Batman
5. Go for Iron Wolf. Before 12:00, the line is pretty short, actually, very short, the whole line is just for front row really, and dude, wait for front row, its awesome there.
6. American Eagle time. Last time I went, red was only going (fowards)
Ill might tell u different after I go.
7. Raging Bull. But that line moves fast.
8. Viper--Can be a long wait, but nothing is as much fun as that double down drop after the 3rd turnaeound (i think its the 3rd... tongue.gif)
9. Demon, fun in the last row actually...
10. If deja vu is running now get on it.
11. if Rajin Cagun...nevermind laugh.gif
12. Whizzer! for the most part, it always has an ok line.

if it was empty go for some flats on the way to the water park.
then enjoy your day@ six flags great america! biggrin.gif

Hope I could help plan your day. Click here for a print friendly version tongue.gif jk

Hey I'll be in Chicago for four days in August... But I'm going to the Cubs vs. Reds August 14-16. I probably won't be able to get over to SFGA but I'll go to Kiddie Land because this may be my last time in Chicago before 2010 and it's gonna probably close then. sad.gif I like Kiddieland because they have the original Donkey Kong game in the arcade. Even though I've only been there maybe 5 or 6 times I have a lot of memories at Kiddieland and I hope it doesn't close. And I do like the free soda, my uncle snook in an empty 1-liter bottle and filled it up. laugh.gif

Viper, can you give me any advice on which day to go between June 27th and July 4th. I just don't want to go on a day where it is just packed. I can wait an hour, but any more than that and I am not very happy. angry.gif

Sorry for the double post but it turns out that I am probaly going to be at the park Monday, July 2nd, and Wednesday, July 4th (Fourth of July). My mom thought that the park wouldn't be too busy on those day because they are in the middle of the week and everyone is having picnics and things like that.

If anyone will be in the area during those couple of days, please tell me and we could try and have some type of a meet-up.

I am going to go to the park today with my triplet cousins (2 over 48in., 1 under), my 7 yr old cousin (over 48inches), my aunt, my mom, my brother, my friend (2 years older than me), and myself.

This is going to be an awesome trip and I hope I get a new credit, or two, or three today. Talk to you guys later, I am supposed to leave in 20 minutes and I have a TON to do.

Okay, here is my Trip Report for my June 2nd Six Flags Great America trip. It was really fun and I got to go on two new roller coasters bringing my coaster count to 62.

I woke up at about 7:45 and everyone had to get ready to go to the park. I took a shower, brushed my teeth, etc... and then waited for my friend to come. He got there at about 8:30-8:45 and we left at about 9:15. We took the tollway up to Gurnee and we were in Gurnee at about 10.

We went over to Culver's which I had never been to before but it didn't open until 10:30 so we went to Germ Paradise "Chuck E Cheeses" because my cousins are still young enough to enjoy it and it was an easy way to waste time. I wanted to just go straight to the park instead of these stops but after, we went to Culver's and it was actually very good.

We got to the park at about 11:30 and we got into the Preferred Parking area (We payed for normal but we had to help my aunt with my cousins who had it). Then, my friend had 2 season passes and the forgot to cancel his old one and I looked enough like the picture so I got in for free. My little brother also had a free ticket and we had the coke cans so we did a really good job of getting back at Six Flags. biggrin.gif

The first ride we headed to was Superman but it had too long of a line so I just went on Condor. It was good and I went on with my five year old cousin but not as exciting as I remember it. I give the ride a 5/10 since I really couldn't enjoy it because it isn't comfortable with two people.

Then, me and my brother split up from the rest of the group and went over to County Fair. The first ride we went on there was Iron Wolf which was a lot rougher than last year. Even in the front row, it was a pretty bad ride after the corkscrew. I give the Iron Wolf a 5/10.

Then, we went on Revolution! I think this is a very nice ride as I had only been on it once before this. It is a little short but also does some nice spinning so there are some positives and negatives. It could rival American Eagle (I haven't been on Deja Vu) as the best ride in County Fair. I give Revolution a 8/10.

Next, I have been really intrested in Wiggle's World and how they did it with the American Eagle tent. It actually looks really nice and the tent provides nice shade for little kids. I am not sure about this but isn't there also a frog hopper ride in Bugs Bunny National Park. I think Six Flags did a nice job with Wiggle's World.

Then, I had to face my fears and go on The American Eagle. The reason I am scared about this ride is that when we first went to the park in 2002, my mom told me about someone breaking there head open and having some type of brain damage on the ride. I know it is a true story because I saw it on the news. It ended up being a very nice ride and it wasn't rough at all. The helix was very intresting as it worked up speed and it was just very cool. I actually like this coaster more than the Viper and it is now my number one woodie. I give the ride a 8.5/10.

Then, I got soaked on Splashwater Falls which is always a fun ride. It was starting to get warm around now so it was a nice way to get... um soaked. Then we walked over to Superman. It said that it was only going to be about a 50 minute wait because we got in line at 2:15 and we had to meet people at 3:00. Not the case, we didn't get off the ride until 3:45 so that is now my longest line which is around an hour and twenty minutes.

I forgot all of the details after this and I really don't want to post a bunch more stuff so here is just my ride list...

American Eagle (Blue): 1, 8.5/10
Batman The Ride: 1, 8/10
Condor: 1, 5/10
Demon: 1, 6.5/10
Iron Wolf: 1, 5/10
Raging Bull: 1, 9/10
Revolution: 2, 8/10
Sky Trek Tower: 1, 8/10 (It was cool seeing the park at night)
Splashwater Falls: 1, 7.5/10
Superman - Ultimate Flight: 1, 7/10
Vertical Velocity: 1, 9/10
Viper: 1, 7/10

I think that's it, I had a blast and I can't wait to go again in the future.

Alrighty, here is my quick review for Vertical Velocity. It had about a 20 minute line and it could have easily been double if I waited for the front. We went in the seventh row (people were waiting, I already got in a situation for being late earlier).

This was my first impulse and it was a amazingly fun ride. I will try and take a ride in the front row the next chance I get to ride it and I can imagine how it would just rock on the holding break in the front row.

Also, it is my second favorite Great America roller coaster behind the American Eagle and right infront of American Eagle. I also got a question. I have a cousin who is just 48 inches and she is almost about to turn eight. Do you think she could handle a ride like American Eagle. Some of here best coasters are the Demon, Thunderhead, and Viper (SFGAm). What do you think (Viper)?
