| QUOTE | Name: April Wright Age: 15 Birthday: November 6th Year: Fifth House: Ravenclaw Wand: 11 1/2", yew, merperson hair Pets: A mouse named Cream who likes to ride around in her pocket. Family: Father: Charles Wright, 38, muggle mechanic; Mother: Farah Wright, 38, muggle housekeeper; no siblings
Physical Description: Pretty, but in a typical way that leaves little opportunity for mystery. April has a somewhat rounded face, complimented by an even nose and pretty, shy smile. Loves her hazel eyes, but thinks they are just a shade too close-set; what April doesn't realize is that no one else has noticed, and that she is just being picky. Blonde hair reaches down to her mid-back, and is often pulled back in a casual, windswept ponytail.
Taller than she'd like, April is already five-eight, and looks like she might grow another inch. Her build, although slender for her height, leaves her looking like a semi-giant next to some of her waifish classmates, something that she tries not to be too self-concious about. Doesn't let that stop her from wearing what she wants, though. April can dress up with the best of them when she wants to, although she usually chooses not to; there's no reason to try and make the pureblood girls think that she's trying to take their boys from them.
Personality: Before she entered Hogwarts, she was a sweet, innocent, smiling young girl. She's still got the same innocence and naturally sweet smile, but April has become much wiser in the ways of the wizarding world. She isn't one of the defiant muggleborns who wants to see change--she just wants to make it through Hogwarts without too much misery from the higher classes. And even if she doesn't want to live in the wizarding world after she graduates, April would love to get a job somewhere other than a magical bar, if only to prove that it can be done.
A bright girl, for sure; even if she wasn't a muggleborn, the Sorting Hat did well by placing her in Ravenclaw. April is more often found with her nose stuck in a muggle book than studying, even if she does study more often than many of her peers. She tends to observe people rather than take part in conversations, and is usually dreaming up elaborate fantasies that involve all sorts of dramatic turns. In her world, purebloods fall in love with muggleborns, and even though they are each other's true love, they cannot be together due to the constraints of society. The quiet pureblood Slytherin boy in the hallway is secretly plotting against his family and his caste because he has been made to see the light by a beautiful part-blood girl.
Because of that, April just doesn't associate much with her peers. She only has a few people that she would call true "friends," and has a bad habit of brushing them off to devour whatever book her mother sent her this week. Her friends know that it's not meant to be cruel, but is just how April functions. Books and the pet mouse Cream don't demand that you listen to all of their issues, and the Ravenclaw appreciates that more than anything.
If you get her to let her guard down, April can be one of the most tomboyish girls you have ever met. She loves to play Quidditch, because it lets her bang and beat on the wimpy Slytherin girls. Getting dirty is one of her favorite pasttimes, and if she's feeling wild, you can find her organizing a muggle football game on rainy days, usually with the Gryffindor boys. It's rare that she'll do this, though. After all, her motto for her entire time at Hogwarts has been to blend in, and being a muggle sport-playing tomboy doesn't help that issue.
History: Born the only child to a young muggle couple, April's first eleven years were at least relatively normal--well, "normal" if you count the fact that Timmy Fentress, her kindergarten crush, found himself breaking out in unexplainable purple boils after he called her a "gross girl." Beyond that, she was never anything extraordinary.
That all changed when she turned eleven. That summer, April received a letter to what was apparently a wizarding school called Hogwarts. She was elated, while her parents were sure that it was nothing but a joke. After much begging and pleading, April was escorted to this "Diagon Alley" by her mother, who was shocked to find that her daughter had been right: the letter was for real.
She entered her first year with high spirits, and was sorted into Ravenclaw from the start--no surprises there. What was a surprise to April was that she was treated like nothing but crap. She stuck it out for two years without complaint, but during Christmas of her third year, she went home and cried for the entire three weeks. Her mother was all for letting April return, but her father convinced her to go back for just one more semester. It was during this time that she met Reid Finch-Fletchey, a Gryffindor boy who stuck up for her when she got bullied in the halls and made her weak in the knees when he smiled.
April's since integrated herself fairly well into the wizarding world. She keeps her head down, says "sir" a lot, and tries to join in the activities her peers are participating in--namely, Quidditch. Her magical ability, although nowhere close to competing with the purebloods and half-bloods, is quite good for one of her non-magical background, and she plans on using that to score wonderful grades on her OWLs.
Likes: Music, reading, old muggle movies, rainy days, apple turnover Dislikes: Pro-bloods, being made fun of, being a muggleborn, getting in trouble, humidity Fears: That she won't get enough OWLs to continue at Hogwarts, getting in a lot of trouble with the purebloods, falling off her broom Goals: Graduate Hogwarts above at least half of the people with magical blood, stay out of trouble, hold a job in the wizarding world
Favorite Spell and Why: Engorgio; it's great for making the last piece of that chocolate bar as big as the entire bar was at the beginning. A real moneysaver. |

the l i s t .::. Stewart Acklery IV xx I've Come to Expect It From You (Dislike) Really... Does the boy have to be so full of himself? Stew is one of the few purebloods that have caused April to have a little bit of a backbone and decide that they're not worth her time. He's a beater for the Slytherin team and thinks every girl is mad for him--and what really annoys April is that the majority of the pureblood girls who aren't related to him agree with him! She's not quite brave enough to challenge him to a duel or anything of that sort, but April certainly doesn't apologize when she bumps into this one in the halls.

Name: Stew Acklery IV House/Year: Slytherin/Sixth Blood Type: Pure Alliance: PB+ Position: I’ve Come to Expect it From You History/Why: Stew thinks April is a real punk. She's never been nice to him, and he doesn't really have much of a reason to care. They play Quidditch against each other regularly, and he takes pleasure in smacking scary bludgers at her whenever possible. She's a little too girl-next-door for his tastes, even if she wasn't a complete pain in his arse. As it is, he's content to let her exist in all her irritatingness. As long as he doesn't have to deal with her.
