There were times when Reid was convinced that even the trestle tables were out to get the muggleborns. It seemed like the Gryffindor one was vaguely unbalanced, with a few more scuffs than what the other tables had. Maybe it was just his imagination, though... When a person knew that they were persecuted some of the time, it was hard to keep from thinking that it was all the time. What do I mean? he thought with a frown. It is all the time.
With a heavy sigh, the sixth-year speared a piece of baked chicken with unusual fervor for someone who was just trying to eat dinner, then shook it off onto his place and helped himself to the steamed rice. A large pat of butter completed that side, and after a moment's hesitation, Reid added a scoop of cinnamon apples. At least we get fed the same, he mused, chewing fiercely and glaring at the Slytherin table.

Ilyana stepped towards the table, hair still mussed from tossing and turning all night. She'd gotten plenty of sleep, it was just that the gryffindor couldn't stay still-even while she slept. On more than one occasion she'd woken to a throbbing pain in her head after falling onto the floor. Quite often, she snored as well. Before Hogwarts, she hadn't known of this condition, but her roommates had soon made the problem known. Nowadays, Ilyana always cast a spell on herself to keep from snoring much to the other gryffindor girls' relief. She hadn't woken up in time, and could barely get dressed before classes, let alone brush her hair.
Sitting down, she loaded her plate with a huge portion of pumpkin pie and some poached pears. Ilyana had a high metabolism, and therefore could eat just about as much as she wanted and still maintain her waifish figure. When she thought about it, though, she probable still would have eaten her fill if her weight did go up. Looking up suddenly, she saw Reid, another sixth year gryffindor. "Hey," she told him, mouth full of pear. If Ilyana normally didn't care about appearances, it was even more so around Reid. After all, she had spent five years of her life with him.

Rycca walked silently into the Great Hall, her head throbbing dully. She had, recently, been forced to sit in on a rather large conversation, with many first and second years. She didn't have anything against them, honestly--except when they yelled and screamed overtop of each other. She couldn't handle the noise.
So now, going to dinner and not entirely in the mood to eat, she was hoping to avoid conversation altogether. Most likely she would just sit there, eavesdropping on random people as she usually did. It wasn't strange for the Penelle girl, after all. Anybody with half a brain knew not to tell any important secrets around her. Not that she would tell anyone...
Ry, as she was known to only her closest friends, sat down at the Gryffindor table in front of a large, hot, wonderful-smelling plate of chicken. The smell upset her stomach; she had been coming down with a cold.
She turned away from the table, pulled out a handkerchief, and began to cough.
"Hi, Ilyana. Reid," she said nasally, acknowledging each with a nod of her head.

No matter how bad Logan was feeling, dinner time usually always made her feel that little bit better. She didnt know if it was the fact that she could ignore all of the taunts coming from the Slyhterin table or that she was surrounded by people who understood, all she knew is that she felt comfortable around everyone. Logan walked into the Great Hall her blonde hair falling, she had to take it out of her ponytail because it was starting to give her a headache.
She finally saw some sixth years and meshed in between them and gave them a smirk. She quickly filled her plate with some vegies and poured herself a glass of pumpkin juice. She took a sip and relaxed, now things were okay. She only just noticed Ry, she wouldve sat beside her instead of between the sixth years, but still Logan wasnt going to move now.
"Hey guys, welcome to the only event that makes equality seem like an every day thing. The food makes us equal!" Logan laughed as she raised her glass. "Cheers big ears." Logan took another sip out of her glass and looked at Ry.
"Hey hun are you okay?" Logan asked Ry with concern.

Oh no, not this again! Ilyana had half a mind to start muttering "wall's closing in, lights fading, everything growing dim" and fall back off of the bench. The only problem with that was she wouldn't be able to keep her eyes open and watch the other gryffindor's reactions. No doubt, at least one of them would be priceless. Instead, Ilyana rolled her eyes. "Oh yes. Cause I wanna marry my twin brother and have retarded but very magical kids. Am I that transparent?" she commented dryly. It wasn't often that the sixth year behaved this rudely, but she had only been at school for a couple of days and already everyone was driving her up the wall. Her brother, about the only person she didn't want to yell at right now, was probably off doing who knows what with some of his friends.
The fact that Ilyana was claustrophobic probably wasn't helping her mood either. She jabbed her fork into the pumpkin pie, and heard the satisfying scratch of metal on china. Pulling the fork across her entire plate, the sound continued at an ear-splitting screech. Finally, about a minute later, Ilyana halted in her "musical endeavour" to actually take a bite of her food.

"Hey hun are you okay?"
Rycca glanced around, realizing Logan was talking to her. "No," she replied. "I think I'm getting a flu." She didn't mention that she had been swimming in the rain the previous week. Ry smiled at Logan, appreciating the concern.
Listening to the others talking, Rycca knew that she was one of the few Gryffindors who was proud of where she had been Sorted. It was here, among other half-, part-, and anti-bloods, that Rycca belonged. People who, for the most part, shared some of her views.
She did a rare thing--chimed into the conversation. "Hey, at least we're not Hufflepuffs, right?" she joked, making an attempt at comedy. It had never been her strong point.
Her thoughts were interrupted by an infuriating screeching noise. Ilyana Potter was dragging her fork across her plate. Rycca groaned, covering her ears; if anything could make her day worse, it was a noise like that. Just about when Rycca was getting ready to rip the fork out of the girl's hands, she stopped. Thank the Lord.

Whoops! Please pretend this is Logan!!!
"Oh yes. Cause I wanna marry my twin brother and have retarded but very magical kids. Am I that transparent?"
Logan simply rolled her eyes. Reall Ilyana annoyed her sometimes, she doesnt think the caste system is anything serious. Logan could slap her does Ilyana have no respect for herself and her friends? Everyone around her were being degraded, insulted and spat on every single day, and Ilyana thought it to be no big deal!? Logan felt sorry for her in some way. she had no idea what was going on around her...
"No," she replied. "I think I'm getting a flu."
Logan gave Ry a sympathetic look. "I hate flus, I hate feeling sick.." Which was a rather dumb thing to say, Logan didnt think anyone would like to feel sick. "I hope you feel better soon Ry. Flu's suck." Logan smiled sweetly at her.
"Hey, at least we're not Hufflepuffs, right?"
Logan laughed and covered her mouth, she really shouldnt be laughing but she couldnt help herself. Her hands quickly moved to her ears as Ilyana dragged her fork over her plate. She waited until the sound had stopped to voice her complaint.
"Seriously Ilyana did you want all of us to become deaf or something!!?" Logan said as she shook her head, trying to sooth her ears, which were quite sensitive to noise of unatural high levels.

I hate flus, I hate feeling sick
Once more, Ilyana rolled her eyes. Being sick wasn't all that bad, really. You puke a few times, go to the hospital wing and are cured, but get to stay in bed for a whole day! Better yet, all the obsessed anti-blood people are in class and can't bother you. Now that she thought about it, Ilyana hadn't been sick in a while. It would be a nice change from all these idiots, really.
Seriously Ilyana did you want all of us to become deaf or something!!?
The urge to preform her melodramatic fainting scene rose once again inside the gryffindor. Maybe later-for now, she was hungry. Ilyana took another large bite of her pie before responding. "Meh...can deaf people talk?" she asked wearily. Truthfully, Ilyana had no clue why she was getting into this bloody conversation. She was normally so uncaring, but once again, everyone was just rubbing her the wrong way today.
A couple locks of brown hair fell in her face, and Ilyana unenthusiastically blew in a weak attempt to get them out of her way. As this didn't work that well, she finally stopped stuffing her face to pull the strands out of her face. Ilyana rand a hand down her hair, which was sufficiently poofy, and smirked. Without doubt, her hair looked the crappiest of all three girl's, and the best part was-she didn't care. People who freaked out over their appearances were almost as bad as people who married their siblings. Almost, but not quite.

It was late in the evening, and dinner had started awhile before, but Jay was just now entering the packed hall. It didn't matter to him what time he got there, as long as there was still some decent food to engorge himself in. He was whistling quietly with his hands in his pocket as he strolled by the other house tables. He was sent many glares when he passed the sea of green and black, but he didn't notice for at that exact moment, a screeching that could kill small animals resounded about the hall.
His hands instantly flew to his ears and he scrunched his entire face as the sound bounced off the walls and high cieling. Nearly the entire hall was looking around wildly, some were even aiming their forks at the Gryffindor table. It finally stopped after an entire minute, just as Jay was sitting down beside his friend.
"Whoah, you're going to kill something if you ever do that again," he said to Ilyana as he grabbed a piece of shepards pie. He was grinning, but he shook his head. She obviously wasn't in a good mood today. He glanced up quickly to smile and nod at his classmates, all of which he recognized, before digging in to his dinner. He had a few bites before looking up once more.
"So, how's everyone this evening?" he asked, making small talk. Of course he didn't want for an answer before he grabbed some green beans and once again began gorging.

Whoah, you're going to kill something if you ever do that again
At long last, someone to talk to! Though it was true that Jay was basically head of the half-blood and muggleborn equality rights bimbos, the two managed to maintain a close friendship by avoiding "blood talk". It probably didn't hurt that the gryffindor boy had been her crush for sixth months running-that always made conversations more enjoyable. Ilyana stuck out her tongue at Jay before heaping yet another serving of pumpkin pie into her mouth. Man, this stuff was good.
So, how's everyone this evening?
Ilyana said nothing, simply stared at the other gryffindor girls sitting amongst her. This didn't last long, however, as her eyes soon rested on Jay's plate. "Ack, I didn't know there was shepard's pie!" she exclaimed, her bad mood already beginning to ebb away. Jay Sauter and shepard's pie-if that didn't cheer Ilyana up, nothing could. After finding the dish, the gryffindor practically emptied the entire pie onto her plate. Her friends often referred to her as "the bottomless pit" simply because she could clear an entire table in an hour flat.
Still eating, Ilyana turned her neck up to look at the sky. It was another bloody sunny day. Didn't they ever get rain around here? The gryffindor would have loved nothing more than a good rain-drenching at that particular moment. Absentmindedly she grabbed the salt shaker and dumped entirely too much onto her plate. It took her a few chews to realize how awful the flavor was, and she scanned the table desperately for another shepard's pie.

Logan looked at Ilyana, slightly disgusted. Logan didnt like her eating manners for one thing, you can eat all you want but you dont need to eat like a pig. Logan ignored Ilyana and the noises she made when she ate and found her appetite diminish rather quickly, but she was still going to eat dessert nothing would stop her from eating dessert.
"Just fabulous Jay and how's yourself?" Logan asked, not wanting to ignore Jay completely. Logan was a friendly person and never wanted to leave anyone out in the lurch. She yawned quite loudly and wiped her eyes. School had just started and all Logan was looking forward to was the next holidays, Logan wasn't sure if she would be going home for Christmas though.
But she didnt mind that idea all too much, most of the pro-bloods left the castle while many anti-bloods stayed behind. Logan actually enjoyed Christmas at Hogwarts, it was one of the best days of the year. She smiled and leaned foward on the table as her eyes looked at one person than another.
"Whats everyone doing this Christmas, I think we should have a huge party in the Common Room." Logan smiled thinking about how much fun that would turn out to be. A huge common room fire, a giant christmas tree hosting all of their presents. It was be awesome.

Yes, Willow was late. But when was she not? The growing pile of crap- or as her teachers liked to call it, homework- was currently so big that her desk seemed like a bottom-less pit. Everything with the ‘group’, which still had to be named, and fighting the pro-bloods was consuming her and leaving little time for her other studies.
Which meant that every free moment was spent on work. It wasn’t like she couldn’t miss the less important things like, say, eating. And really, sleeping with the headmaster for grades was not going to happen. I mean… EW! Willow would never drop that low.
She made her way over to the Gryffindor table quickly, almost tripping over her own feat in the process. Willow took a seat on the opposite side of Ilyana and Jay and nodded half-heartedly at the people around her. Scanning the table she spotted one of her favorite foods, Shepard’s Pie, and leaned over the people that were in her way to spoon some onto her plate.
Whats everyone doing this Christmas, I think we should have a huge party in the Common Room
Willow’s eyes swept over to Logan and smiled. “I don’t know. I might be around. Sounds like a wicked idea, though. But my parents want me to bond with the rest of the Potter family. Get in good with them, you know,” she snorted. “And you guys know how much I’m looking forward to that.” She looked over at the Slytherin table apprehensively before turning to smirk at Ilyana, “but Ilyana will protect me, right?”

Just fabulous Jay and how's yourself
Fabulous? That reminded Ilyana a little too much of the thirty year old muggle woman that worked at the convenient store where the gryffindor got her coffee during the summer. She was blond, and always had her hair pulled back in a high pony-tail and a phony smile on her face. One time, after Ilyana had paid, the woman told her to have like a fabulous day. It was all she could do to hold her laughter in before stepping out the door.

Oh, what fun. More anti-bloods gathering together in an enclosed space to discuss equality. Now that was something that Ilyana was going to have to miss out on. When her half sister Willow sat down across from her and began to fill her own plate with shepards pie, Ilyana was suddenly struck by how glutonous she looked. It had never occured to her to actually act special around her crush. She abruptly put down her fork and tried not to eat anything else, though she wasn't exactly full yet.
I don’t know. I might be around. Sounds like a wicked idea, though. But my parents want me to bond with the rest of the Potter family. Get in good with them, you know. And you guys know how much I’m looking forward to that. But Ilyana will protect me, right
"Sure kiddo," she said, putting an emphasis on the last word. Even though the two girls were only a year apart, she loved to point out that she was older than Willow. "The purebloods will be dodging dung-bombs on the way to the bathroom. Maybe we can have a stake-out in the middle of the night and then ambush one of 'em. It'll probably be Joelle. I bet she gets up every two hours to fix her hair or something," she suggested.

Sure kiddo
Willow chuckled. She didn’t mind Ilyana being a year older than her. Well… Okay, maybe a little. But really, it was just because she seemed to get more attention from Jay because they were in the same year. Then again Ilyana was one of the only Potter’s that Willow could stand so she let the teasing slide. Even if they weren’t close because of the whole anti-blood thing, but compared to the rest of the Potter’s Ilyana was a lot easer to stand.

“Ahh. Joelle. She needs to be pelted with dung-bombs,” Willow shuddered. Just the though of the Slytherin and actually having to spend time with her disgusted Willow. “Every two hours? Have you seen her in class? She’s constantly running her fingers through it or looking at her reflection in any shiny object she can find. I bet she’s up at least every hour.”
Digging into her food, Willow didn’t even bother with how she looked. She hadn’t bothered with breakfast and she was starving. Scanning the table she spotted a plate of peaches and snatched one up. “You know, I was thinking some muggle superglue in her hair.” Willow supplied, stabbing her food extra hard for emphasis.
