I could use a little help because my band has decided to try to start there own label becuase, we can't get anyone to sign us so far. I don't know exactly why.

Anyway, we are a Christian band and we want to start VineRecords.com
Nothing there now, we're still building the stie. Anyway, we want to sign Christian bands and help them cuz there's a lot of struggling bands out there in my church and town.

Can anyone give me a little advice on starting our own label and what kind of cash are we talking?

God Bless,
-Soul Sacrifice

Not too sure on really what to do because I know nothing about starting your own label. Just watch out for really good bands, and hope they go big because then you go big. I'm not sure. I'm not the one to be asking..sad.gif

What you need to do is make sure you have a lot of money. You need to be responsible for paying for the creation of their albums, the design of their albums, the equipment to record their albums and all of that. It's not easy starting a label because it costs so much money. However, it can be done and if you find a band that is extremely good, it could take you to the top and that could make you quite a bit of money.

Exactly. Its one of those jobs that you have to pay a lot, to earn a lot. Not an easy thing to start off.

My advice is to continue trying to get a label. The thing with record companies is that they won't record you if they feel that they aren't going to make money off of you. You need to prove to them that Christian Rock is something that people will want to listen to. You need to persuade them that you're a genre that can make it to the top. That means you need to have amazing music.
