Welcome to Hogwarts,

As Headmistress of Hogwarts Online, I Luna Sniyder, would like to welcome you to one of the best Harry Potter Role Playing sites out there. You are one of the lucky students who have received an owl of acceptance to this spectacular school.

Step right up and take a seat while I set the Sorting Hat on your head. Remember the number you were given, you'll need that and the password to Enroll for classes. Enrollment opens about 2 weeks before the start of term and up to 2 weeks after classes start. Check the Calender to find out when classes start and enrollment begins.

Now you are ready to get on the Hogwarts Express heading to the castle. First make sure your student is created to be Sorted at Hogwarts. Make sure the name and email match the one that used to take the sorting quiz. Send a PM to your Head of House if you are not sorted right away and the next time they are available, they will get you sorted and send you the password to the common room so that you can unpack. The list of your Head of Houses are on the side panel.

Now that you have unpacked, it's time to go to Gringotts Bank and register your bank account. From there, you may visit many of the shops to get your wand, books and supplies, even ONE small pet. With your supplies, you may now go to classes if they are available for you to enroll in. If not, don't worry, there's still many of fun things to do here, meet new friends in your common room, chow down in the Great Hall or Kitchens, play some quidditch out on Pitch, or just lounge around the lake getting fresh air. There's also a Club area, RL area to post your own writings and talk about the books and movies, signature request section (make sure the celebrity isn't taken at the Character Library.

I must remind students that just because they are allowed to use underage magic on school grounds, you must keep in check that only year Appropriate Spells are allowed that you have learned in class. Please also keep in mind your student's age is only 11 and this school does not host inner city muggle-type personalities, but those represented by each year of the books according to JK Rowlings. We are strongly against anything more then "puppy love" with pre-teens and "snogging" among the teenagers.

This site is rated PG. Members range in age from 9/10 - those that are RL grandparents. This is a beginners site, so getting mad and slamming people about spelling and typing errors is strongly discouraged also no matter what their age IRL is. There is absolutely no cussing or adult content, even in any of the OOC areas, tolerated on this site.

God-modding is not permitted on here either, meaning that you can't post hitting or how a person is going to respond before they get a chance to defend themselves unless they give you permission to post them out of the RP. Killing off your character or another person's is not permitted. "Suicidal" characters or accomplices will lead to an indefinite banning. Yes, there are the "bad" students and those belonging in a "dark wizard" group, but remember they're approved to have the attitudes they have and they know they may not "kill" you, at most send you to the hospital wing due to spell damages. It is also more fun to go along with them instead of being a poor sport and whining about being "attacked". Creativity is the key to a good RP and so is character development.

Since this was brought up again and the old post was deleted when we were hacked, I would like to remind everyone on here the rules about double accounts.

One account per computer/IP address for 6 months. I've heard the story too many times "but it's my sister/brother/cousin's account". Only to find out that it was a lie to get another account. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is. If they want another account, use a different computer. School comps will give you the same IP also, so watch when you register with your "friends" together. Yes, I heard this excuse too.

After 3 months, you may create a professor, Ministry official, staff, shop owner, or St. Mungos healer. Please get permission before you go ahead and just make them though.

After 6 months, you can create another student account OR a second adult.

After 1 year, you're allowed up to 5 accounts total combined of students and adults.

Anyone caught making a double too soon will have the second account suspended until the appropriate time frame is up. When the account becomes unsuspended, you may use it as you wish.
