Fall Term Quidditch

Hello Staff and Students,

I'm sure you are all getting incredibly antsy for the Fall Term Quidditch season to get underway since we are, in fact, starting late.

Now I do want to get the season started quickly, but I have a small problem. I need some help. So here is the deal, I need to hire a permanent Referee like myself.

Rules for Applying:

• Will be created as a 2nd character, so if you don't qualify, or if you already have your limit, then you cannot apply.
• If you have a Referee character you cannot have a student on ANY house team.
• You need to be able to be on either a Saturday or Sunday each week/every two weeks, to hold/help hold the games

If you are interested in applying please PM me with the following code below. I will accept applications starting today and go until Tuesday night [the 22nd].

Ok here is how its going to go.

You have until Friday, 11am PST [2PM EST], to send me your team lists, if you don't get me a list by Friday you don't play during Fall Term.

None of this you didn't have time, cause the lists were suppose to be in before the hacking but I know I only got one or two house lists, I know I didn't get all 4 unless they got sent in just before the hacking and the account was deleted before I was able to see it.

I will post up the new game schedule later today and its going to be games nearly every week. So its going to be quick and fast paced, I'll give you time to give me your team schedule each week to help me pick the game time but we have to account for Ref's too and I will do the best I can to make a time work for everybody but I strongly, strongly, strongly suggest you have lots of reserves in case actual players can't make the game.

Quidditch Cup: December 5th-6th

Remember I lost all team lists so you MUST send it in if you haven't already. You have less than 24 hours remaining, if you don't send it in, you do not get to play.

The first match is between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Both teams have until tomorrow at 12pm [pst] to send me what times work best for each team, it helps to give me what time people are and are not available rather than just saying this one specific time works for you. Remember I also have to worry about ref availability too, so I will do the best I can

Game One: Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw



Game Day: Saturday October 10th
Game Start Time: 3:30 PM Pacific Time/6:30 PM Eastern Time



Chatzy will be opened 15 minutes prior to the start of the game, you have 15 minutes to get all of your team to the chat.

If one team does not have all players available, that team forfits the match and the other team gets 150 House Points.

If neither team has all players available, match is a draw and no points are awarded. Match will not be rescheduled.

All volunteer/permanent refs that are available for this game please PM me immediately and let me know, you will be contacted about your job for the match. Match 1

Oh boy, today was an interesting match.

First off, I want to apologize to the two teams because I was not able to be on and Ref, and I want to thank Embry Shane and Prof. Hortensia Lovingsgood
for being wonderful and referring the match.

Because I was away there was a mistake and a rule many did not know about was accidentally broken. It wasn't found out until after the match was over and so while Gryffindor won, and Jayda Prewett did an amazing job of finding the snitch the Ravenclaws have agreed upon a draw and both houses will split the points.

For full disclosure I will explain what happened and what was decided.

Gryffindor accidentally had a player on their team that was not a member for the 30 days required of a player. I was informed by text message that the Captains of the teams agreed to play forward the match even though Gryffindor was going to be down a player who needed to leave. I, as head ref, approved as long as the two teams agreed and they did.

After I got home it was discovered that the player that had needed to leave the game was the one that had not been a member long enough, and he had not gotten a chance to play. Upon speaking with the Ravenclaw Captain, she mentioned she didn't know the rule either and so she was given 4 options, because to be fair it could not simply be looked over. They were given the following options: Let it slide this one time if you want...Can say the rules have to be followed and claw will be declared winner....Call it a draw and give each house 75 points....Or we can do a rematch tomorrow after 8pm Eastern time.

She spoke with those that played, and were still on, which was a large portion of the team and they agreed to call it a draw, with each house recieving 75 house points.

So congratulations to both teams on being awarded 75 house points, going towards the Quidditch totals that will help us find the winner of the Quidditch cup.

Game Two: Hufflepuff vs Slytherin

House Captains, you have until Wednesday 3pm Pacific Time to send me your team availability for the match this coming weekend. Either Saturday the 17th or Sunday the 18th.

Please try to send me as much information as possible so I can look at all available options, working with available refs as well.

Game Two: Hufflepuff vs Slytherin



Game Day: Sunday October 18th
Game Start Time: 5:00 PM Pacific Time/8:00 PM Eastern Time

CONGRATULATIONS TO SLYTHERIN!

Seeker Cruz was able to find the snitch, making Slytherin the winners of the Hufflepuff/Slytherin match and earning themselves 150 points.

Points are awarded in the office to the captains of the teams.

MATCH 3 IS A DRAW!

Both the Hufflepuff and the Gryffindor teams were unable to get full teams to the quidditch match by the start of the game and so this match has been called a draw, neither team will be awarded house points.

GAME 4: Ravenclaw vs Slytherin

Game 4 will be held either November 7th or 8th, that is 2 weekends from now, there will be no game the weekend of Halloween because I am too busy on Halloween and plan to be in a sugar coma the next day. Captains of the Ravenclaw and Slytherin teams have until Wednesday November 4th at 3pm [pacific time] to send me their teams availability.

Team Captains, please send your schedules to Prof. Britney Bryne who will be taking over as Head Quidditch Ref for the rest of fall season.

Captains of the Ravenclaw and Slytherin quidditch team you have until Friday 10 PM eastern time to pm me your schedules (Date and time best for everyone)....If you don't send it to me I will set up the date and time for game 4...
