Well my folks will be going but my sibs and I are all hanging out in Waco to give the 'rents a child free weekend. But the good news is that I should have a job (church pianist) and a vehicle (daddy's truck so I can drive to said job) which should give me much more freedom in being able to come up and jam!

Hello there, I finally made it to the site. Thanks, same guy for telling me about you all.
I'm a wanna be musician with not much talent in that department, sigh. But I can kind of play the mandolin, can read music - slowly.
I also have a hurdy gurdy that same guy has seen and heard, and several mandolins, a couple of guitars and a concertina.
I'm in Maypearl, and interested in getting together with you all when you do find a place to play.

Welcome to the site! We're definitely glad to have you aboard. We're definitely going to find something and make it work soon . . . I need the outlet.

Hey, drawloom50, nise to hear from you.

Do you have any suggestions for a venue?

Are you still running the minilathe? I need a new HG handle rolleyes.gif and music mafia is wanting some fiddle pegs.

Later, it's getting too busy over here to sustain a thought..

I do still have the mini lathe, but gave away all the smaller bits of wood. I'll be happy to turn a handle for your HG, if you bring the wood for it. Give me a call or email.

What kind of pegs for the violin? There are a lot available from suppliers, have you all checked Luthier's Merchantile, or Stew_Mac? Elderly Instruments has some, too. Or did you need something different, Music Mafia?

I think you gave all the little pieces to ME! Ill bring a few down someday. I think mafia wanted a Hardang set; he bought some nominal boxwood pegs and wasn't pleased with them. Haven't talked about it in several days.

I think he decided to devote his time to learning to play. I'll ask him about it.
