Speaking of xkcd, is anyone considering showing up at any of those geohash sites? Some of the West-DC quadrant ones are pretty close to TJ... But many of them are far enough away that our Alumni who still reside in VA could visit! I don't want to just show up and find a bunch of middle aged nerds I don't know, but if we organized a TJ geohash meet-up, it could be pretty cool. How about one on the Saturday after the end of school? (Official meet-up times are Saturdays at 4:00 PM).
Or is this just too creepy? (I can't decide! If I was going to be in the Boston area again, I'd definitely go meet Randall, though! [Curse bad timing! I was there weekend before last! If only this comic had come ONE WEEK earlier!] |

We'll have to manipulate the stock market to get the geohash to fall within the grounds of TJ.

That... Sounds... AWESOME!
I bet people will actually start doing that! Or at least trying to predict what the DOW will be and go to the place before anyone else can! |

How can you have gone this far without mentioning it? EDIT: Also, http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/000401. Popular back in its day, and not as well-remembered as I thought... be warned that some of the early stuff is sketchy, but you get through it to get to the later stuff, because continuity is where the comic shines. |

Actually, 1/0 is existentially brilliant, but that's just my opinion. Some people might like to seek enlightenment some other way.
Along with some others that have already been mentioned: Schlock Mercenary, anyone? Magellan Superhero Academy (I'm not sure that's its correct name, but that's what it is) Girl Genius. Oh yeah. Irregular Webcomic. David Morgan-Mar (one of the guys from Darths and Droids, previously mentioned) is brilliant, and explicitly lampshades TV Tropes. He also puts in science and etymology lectures where they apply. Casey and Andy. Mad scientists who frequently die. Bob was there, too. I link to the first page so that people don't see the end unless they want too; it's already concluded. Dominic Deegan, Oracle For Hire. Your Mileage May Vary, but it's definitely quite good at the beginning, before all that cosmic stuff caused a case of Broken Base. --XF Edit: Oh, yeah, and I forgot Order of the Stick (OOTS) El Goonish Shive (EGS) |
