“You’re are genuinely sick, you know that right?” Callum considered himself a pretty adventurous man and when it came down to it, he had done every stupid thing a young person could possibly do but Pluto boinking Minnie wasn’t on his list. “I’m starting to feel sorry for those kids out there that accidently run into Minnie’s puffy backside!” How many children or little people would walk into that big round thing? Sure, it was only fabric and soft but what were the chances there wasn’t some sort of residue on it. He locked his ‘valuables’ in the small locker comprising of his house keys, phone and wallet with very little money in it since it had been the week to pay rent not to mention his unhealthy obsession with being drunk at every given opportunity. After spending an hour in the bakery which he couldn’t bypass as soon as he smelt it, if there was one thing he couldn’t go without other than alcohol it was food especially the apple and walnut log; his mouth watered thinking about it. If it hadn’t been for the long line Callum would have returned to get changed a lot earlier and would have been on time to meet whoever was scheduled on to be Princess Aurora.

There wasn’t a chance in hell Callum would walk around the park in dark brown pants that were tucked into the knee high boots, he sounded like a woman getting dressed not a prince. It always amused him that men in fairy tales were the ones wearing tights and feathers. The whole costume was a little absurd, he initially thought dressing as someone human would have allowed him to retain his dignity far more than dressing up as Tigger or Mickey Mouse but he was wrong. At least in the big suits they covered your face and the only people who knew who you were underneath were those who worked with you and dealt with the same dilemma. Not that he had seen anyone he knew…yet. It would be just his luck that one day one of this friends from Miami would turn up to make endless fun of him, he couldn’t blame them because if he as in their position he would do the exact same thing.

“You got a new princess man,” he hadn’t thought those words were for him until he felt a hand clap him over the shoulder. He blinked then stared at Aladdin (he referred to people as the characters they were employed to play) as the guy adjusted a wrist cuff. Callum yanked down the hem of his top before securing a belt around his waist. Ha, “What poor unsuspecting fool did they get to do that?” Aladdin shrugged, “So you haven’t even seen her?” His silence was the only confirmation Callum needed. He got the newbie for the first parade of the day, sounded like such fun, he could only hope this wouldn’t be a repeat of the last Snow White who quit after she vomited from nerves. Honestly, what was there to be nervous about? So they were dressed in ridiculous clothing while smiling and acting like fools most of the time. Most people just wanted the pictures to take home as proof they had been there and had fun.

Callum looked up at the clock on the wall, he still had a few minutes to make it outside and he didn’t see anyone in the Princess Aurora costume hanging around as he poked his head out the door. As everyone shuffled outside to start moving up the main street he approached the crowd, clapping his hands and rubbing them together he chuckled, “Alright, where’s my princess?”

IT'S TRUE, I CRAVE YOU
There was something about a first day at work that nearly always had Sera's stomach flipping, and not in a good way either. It was the nerves of talking to new people, getting to know new people and just getting used to a new job over all. It was, in a way, terrifying to the petite blonde. Not that it was going to be like a normal job at all, or in any way. This was a job in Disneyland! This was a dream job for many different people and it was something Sera was actually excited about. Going through the audition process had been nervewracking but exciting in itself, in fact, the young girl hadn't even known what job she was interviewing for when she first went in there. It had been Aaron's idea to get a job in the parks, it was the easiest place to get to and it was good pay as well. It just meant that Aaron was close enough to the hospital and Sera was close enough to their new apartment that they could still spend enough time together in a day without being bogged down by their respective jobs. At first Sera had thought the job was going to be something like working as a vendor, or maybe even working in one of the shops, or hell even working as a ride attendant, but to be put down for a character job? It had the child in Sera jumping up and down. And then there were the auditions that she'd gone through to see which character she'd suit and it just so happened that one of her favourites was free and bam, there she was, Princess Aurora.

There had been so many different costume fittings and make up tests and wig tests, all to make sure they had the most authentic Aurora they could have. It was the strangest feeling dressing up as a Disney princess seeing as it was probably the dream of so many other little girls out there in the park at that moment in time. Being a Disney Princess meant that you had a job to do and that job was to be a role model for kids out there, to be the perfect princess from the film. It was something Sera had to work at, but it was something she was excited about, despite the nerves. Another thing she was nervous about was the fact that she had to work alongside someone else, a Prince Phillip, someone she was going to have to get along with no matter what. What happened if she didn't get along with the guy? What if the guy was an absolute asshole, just someone who didn't get along with anyone at all? It didn't bear thinking about! So as the tiny blonde put on the wig for the first proper time and secured the crown to the top of her head, she chewed at her bottom lip ever so slightly as one of the other princesses walked up behind her to look in the same mirror. Glancing up at the other girl, she gave her a sheepish smile before securing the necklace around her neck. ”This is your first time, right?” Nodding her blonde head nervously, she let out a shaky sigh as though to try and calm herself down. Holding her hands out to show the girl that she was shaking slightly, she gave her another smile. ”That obvious?” Turning her attention back to the mirror as the other girl laughed and gave her shoulder a squeeze before walking off to get changed.

A few minutes later and both of the girls were outside with the rest of the group waiting to get the parade underway. Some of the princesses had their own floats for the parade while some of the others got far more interaction with the crowd. But it wasn't that that had Sera nervous, it was the fact that she still hadn't met her prince. Her Prince. It sounded ridiculous whenever anyone put it in that way. Swinging her dress around so that she wouldn't stand on the ends, she laughed at some joke that Snow White had just told before hearing the voice behind her. ”Alright, where's my princess?” Hearing that familiar voice, her stomach dropped before she had a chance to think about it. Biting at her bottom lip, she turned slowly, stepping out from behind Cinderella to catch a glimpse of her 'Prince'. As her eyes landed on the familiar figure, her eyebrows raised a little as her lips tugged into a smile. ”Callum?” Laughing a little, she shook her head, the ends of the wig falling behind her shoulders as she stepped forward, just that little bit closer to him so she could get a better look. ”Or should I say Prince Phillip?” Holding up her dress a little from the ground, she let another laugh escape her lips as she tilted her head, her eyes drifting over Callum's. ”What're you... I mean... how long have you been working here?!” Barely being able to contain the excitement in her voice, she stood back awaiting his response to her many questions.

New cast members were tricky but always fun for the first week until you discovered they didn’t fit in with everyone. That rarely happened though so Callum’s curiosity was really about who he would be working with. He knew the park didn’t hire people who didn’t fit the profile, Princess Aurora being African American or Indian wasn’t every likely and he hadn’t heard anything about a multi-cultural tolerance kick. Usually they got the rhetorical memo on that one, plus, there was every princess imaginable standing around, from Jasmine to Mulan and Pocahontas. Sure there were only a few non-Caucasian princesses but most princesses were written over fifty years ago when racial tolerance wasn’t a hot topic when it came to acceptance. Things had changed and for the better in Callum’s mind, he didn’t care what colour people were, he didn’t care if they spoke a different language or ate different food, he was all about the individual person. That being said most people wouldn’t call him picky, especially when it came to bed mates but then Callum had never said he was all that selective.

Looking past everyone he looked for that familiar bright pink gown, sure they changed every now and then but the pink always remained the same and most of them wore different colours. Suffice to say Callum knew the Princess Aurora dress when he saw it and sadly enough it never showed enough cleavage- well not in his opinion. The last Aurora had enough cleavage to lose a moose down her dress, even some of the small children with no concept of what the floatation devices on her chest were would play with the gaping part of her dress or even try and pull it down to look down it. It had always made Callum laugh when she seemed so surprised that someone would try and pull her dress down.

The last person in the world that Callum ever expected to be at Disneyland to work was Sera. Visiting, sure? But what were the chances that she would work there? To say he was surprised was an understatement as his eyes were trained on her like a heat seeking missile that knew exactly what its target was. He could feel a few people staring at his reaction from his peripheral vision but he was far too concerned with the small blonde in front of him, assuming she was still blonde underneath that wig. His expression and tune quickly changed when he realized he had been staring far too long to be considered normal and his mouth split into a smile. “Well, well strawberry, never expected to see you again,” while his demeanour was perfectly cheery and welcoming, underneath there was an accusation hidden underneath it. Callum went back to an old nickname he had given her after their first encounter and even though he hadn’t called her that in a while, it seemed appropriate somehow. Scratching the top of his head through the silly brown hat he shrugged, “little over a year. Things got a little tight back home…” He had told her all about his family and how much he was finding it hard to keep being a career to a grown woman who was supposed to look after him not the other way around.
