Hey guys, FinalPayne here. I used to be in LS as well as another clan but now i have put all my time into thinking of a modded way to play Capture the Flag for Red Faction. So here is my proposal, HyperFlag. Please post opinions and feel free to email me at hyperflaglucas@hotmail.com with suggestions or wanting to be on HyperFlag Project.

HyperFlag
Edition #2
Revised

HyperFlag is a new fast-paced and fun way to play Red Faction’s Capture the Flag. HyperFlag embodies the fun of Capture the Flag, but also places a much greater emphasis on team work and survival as well as introducing a new innovative point system to decide the overall winner of the match. HyperFlag can be played with as little as 2 people but is much more fun when played with 5 or over. Now for a full explanation of the game:

1. HyperFlag for the CTF format only
2. The match is played over 3 maps (known as games) and the winner is the team who wins the majority of the games.
3. The games last for 20 minutes each. (The game clock is set for 25 minutes, you have 5 minutes to get ready)
4. The maximum capture limit is 20
5. Team Damage is compulsory

Playing the Game
1. Both teams start at their own bases at the 25 minute mark. You have a five minute period known as the pre-attack period in which to practice killing the other team members. You may not capture the opponent’s flag during the pre-attack period.
2. Before the game clock reaches 20:20, all players must be dead and at the score screen. When the game clock reaches 20:00, all players spawn and the game begins.
3. At all times, both red and blue team must be equal to each other. If this is not possible, then the teams must be made equal at the first possible moment.
4. Like in football, one team goes on offence and the other team goes on defence. Red always starts on offence, thus blue always begins on defence.
5. While on offence, your objective is to capture the opponent’s flag. While on defence, your objective is to reclaim your flag or kill all members of the offence. N.B. While on defence you can not capture the opponent’s flag, you may only stop your flag from being taken or reclaim your flag.
IMPORTANT: The time while a team is on offence and attempting to capture the defence’s flag is called an attack. This is like an offensive drive in football.
6. Once killed during an attack, you can respawn and continue to participate in the attack until it is over. That being said, you will not count towards the score once killed during an attack.
7. Attacks are finished when, all members of the offence have been killed at least once, the flag is captured by the offence, the flag is recovered by the defence or 3 minutes has passed since the flag was taken. (If this is so, a person who may be holding the flag must kill themselves). The offence then switches to defence and vice versa.
8. You may not camp around the flag or camp inside a building or enclosed shelter in which the flag is located. You also may not hide in holes or tunnels you have made using explosives.
9. During a game of HyperFlag, you may not use the Fusion Rocket.

Scoring:
1. In order to score, you must capture the defence’s flag. (For those that do not know, capturing is when you get the opponent’s flag back to your base and run it into your flag while it is at base)
2. Calculating points is easy. You get 1 point for capturing the flag, plus an extra 1 point for every member of your team who was not killed during the attack. This includes the person who captured the flag. (If you capture the flag but were killed before capturing the flag, you only get 1 point for capturing the flag)
3. You do not lost points unless you break the rules and are called.

Breaking the Rules
In a match of HyperFlag, there are rules in place so the match runs smoothly. Thus, there are MR’s or Match Rulers who are able to watch over the game and put the rules in action. You do not need a Match Ruler during a game, unless you are running a tournament or official match against another team. Match Rulers use mods so that they can fly around the map so they can watch the action or run in spectate mode if the server was made to support spectate. The Rulers officiate over the following rules

2. You may not capture or take the flag while in the preattack period.
3. You may not capture or take the offences flag while on defence.
4. The times when you switch from offence to defence or vice versa at the end of an attack.
5. The amount of points scored on a successful attack.
6. The time when an attack is finished.
7. All players must be dead and not in the game 20 seconds before the game starts at 20:00 minutes.
8. The teams must be equal whenever possible.
9. You may not swear or curse at any other during a match.
10. You must respect everyone else and not put them down. This includes calling people noobs.
11. You can not camp around the flag or in the flag enclosure, nor can you hide or travel in man made tunnels or holes.
12. You can not kill another member of your team during a match.
13. You may not mod during a match
14. You may not kill a member of the offence while they are returning the flag after a failed attack.

Breaking the rules results in:
If on offence: Lose 3 points and immediately switch from offence to defence. If holding the flag you must kill yourself so the flag drops.
If on defence: Lose 3 points and all members of the offence lose any kill count against them if they have been killed during the current attack.

If caught modding, you are immediately ejected from the match and not able to play in that match.

It is up to the MR to call these breaks by announcing “Rule broken by offence/defence” and then advising as to what is to happen as per the proper penalties for breaking the rules.

Clarification:
1. If all members of the offence are killed during an attack, the flag must be returned to the base before the defence and to offence switch. You can not kill while the flag is being returned after a failed attack.
2. Intentionally killing the MR will result in your team being swapped over to defence if they are on offence and vice versa. The person who killed the MR will also be ejected from the match and will lose 2 points for their team.
