And the dead will rise, Maddie and Jayson

Jayson sat on a bench at the park, it was all he had energy to do at the moment. Hell he was LUCKY to have found a nearby bench to sit on lucky not to die on the ground like a common animal, though it would be fitting in a way. He had to smile, he'd seen this coming, he should have stopped coming out here when Void and his sister had found out. it wasn't that he even needed to kill anymore just that it was better that way to get rid of NYX, after all he was the only one doing it nowadays. He used one hand to pick up the other and pulled it onto his lap where it lay, it was broken no doubt about that. They had played dirty sticking a stupid needle in his arm making him weakened before a group of them appeared to fight with him, they obviously didn't like his midnight hobby... he was ready to die though, using his only good hand he wiped the blood off his lip, he nose was still ok thankfully so there was no fountain of blood staining his clothing. his body was numb now, there was no real pain and he knew he would most likely die soon, he could call someone. his girlfriend for one, Alexa, his foster mom... sophia, sky, a number of people, but he didn't want to. he deserved the right to die peacefully, and for the first time ever he was ok with it, he missed his mother, void was no substitute neither was Alexa, he knew though if he died he would see him mommy at least one more time before the end.

Maddie had returned to the park... It was dark now, and she had wanted see the park at night. Maddie had kept her eyes on the snow around her as she walked leisurely around the park. Then she saw a kid she knew that she didn't know. He seemed to be just sitting there. Maddie averted her eyes and tried to walk by as fast as possible. Every instinct in her wanted her to help in, but she wasn't the weak girl she had been, and she wasn't going to get caught in someone elses' drama... Maddie couldn't help but having her blue eyes land on him while she walked by.

He couldn't have been more than 16, and there was something about him that seemed to call her to him. Maddie didn't understand why he was feeling like this... Maddie looked around her, and saw that no one was around, she even used her locating power to make sure... There was no one else in this park. Maddie's eyes fell back to him and she bit her lip. She resisted the urge to grap her dagger, especially when she felt that he was injured. She instantly put up her block, she couldn't be much help if she was feeling the pain with him...

Maddie opened her mouth to speck but the kid beat her to it, and the words that came out of his mouth shocked her, more than anything that had happened today... She felt like she was speechless...

Jayson looked up and saw her, his mom, he knew she would be the one to take him and he couldnt help but smile. "hey mom, guess im dead huh... he said smiling slightly and then looked up at the stars. he couldn't help but wonder why he had been so lucky as to get him mom. there was no way they were going the same place, she would be in heaven and him, hell. thats the place that murder's went the place his mom wasn't going. maybe that was it, part of his punishment was seeing his mom one last time before never seeing her again for all eternity. that must be it. he looked back at his mom and for the second time in his life he felt hot tears leak out of his eyes making trails in the blood and dirt on his face before falling off his face. "you know mom, im ok going to hell just because i get to see you one more time" he muttered a small smile still on his face.

Maddie could only stare at this kid. Had he just called her mom? This must have been Jayson... and now that she could really see his face he looked just like Sky had... not this new sky she had met today, but the sky of her memory... Jayson had to be only a few years younger then Sky had been when he died. Maddie walked up to the boy and put her hand on his face. He looked just like Sky... and she bet that his smile would look exactly like his. Suddenly, Maddie felt something in her want to see this boy smile... Jayson was genetically her son... and though she didn't really know him she felt a warmth at the thought of seeing this boys smile. She knew he would smile... and then he did. She gasped. Jayson looked exactly like Sky had when they had met... Maddie took a deep breath and thought about healing him, it was draining but she figured it would be worth it.

Please.... I'm begging you... Please. This is my son, I brought you here to help him. He needs me and I can't help him. Please save him... A voice in her head said... it was her voice, but Maddie knew it wasn't her thought. Without a second thought Maddie healed Jayson. She let this boys presence fit around her. She couldn't not help when that defenseless voice asked her to...

"You're not going to die today, Jayson." Maddie mumbled with a soft smile. Even though she knew that yet another person was thinking she was that dead Maddie, this one didn't hurt as much. This was genetically her son, even if she hadn't really given birth to him, he was hers. Thank you..." The voice in her head said. She wondered if the dead Maddie had been able to do that the entire time...

When the healing was over, Maddie sat on the bench next to Jayson. "There you should feel better now. " She waited for the reaction she was used to... The shock that she was here... She understood that his first reaction had been when he thought he was dying, and now his real reaction would show up...

jayson felt a warmth fill his body and then every once of pain vanished and he lifted his broken hand, it was healed and he looked up to the woman, he understood the woman in front of his was not his mother she didn't give of the same personality and more then anything his mom was dead. he looked at her and lunged forward and hugged her tightly "i know your not my mom, i undertand that, but just let me have this moment" he muttered and continued to hug her, he'd let her go soon but he had wanted to hug his mom for the past five years, to have her near him and to raise him, but the she had been gone, dead forever, and now there was another woman who looked almost identical to her in ever way from her hair color to her fashion choices. However he was logical as a person, and while he could hope and dream that this WAS his mom, he knew she was dead forever. finally he let go.

When the boy jumped to hug her her first reaction was relief. He was obviously feeling better... She had never doubted that she could heal him... but she had worried just as if she was really his mom.... Maddie smiled and let her arms wrap around the boy. She had always wanted kids, and she really felt as if this was her kid. There was a small part of her that wouldn't let her forget that this wasn't her child.... at least not really... Maddie let him have his moment though. He was just a kid who had been without his mother for way too long... A kid needed their mother... Maybe thats why she was here? Not for Lexi, or Sky or even Void... but for Maddie's kids... Jayson, Sasha and Mia. They needed a mother... even if Maddie was different she was still essentially the same person...

Maddie held Jayson and ran her fingers through his hair. "Go ahead. I won't stop you." Maddie closed her eyes for a moment and just let her walls drop. It almost made her want to cry... This little boy was feeling so much... It reminded her of her times when she would hug Sky and feel his love and hers just mingle inside her and double. Maddie took a deep breath and tried to remember that she wasn't this Maddie... She had never had kids with Sky... Had never married Sky... Her life had taken a much darker path... Which saddened her... She wished that her life could have been as simple as the dead Maddie's had been, she wished that she could have been surrounded by love they way this worlds Maddie had been... It hadn't worked out that way though... But she was going to enjoy the second chance she had been given, just like Nathan had told her to.

jayson took a look at the woman who had his moms face, she had comforted him and held him, she really was like his mom. he then smiled again this time sadly, "who, who are you? how do you look like my mom? he asked curious wondering how it was even possible that she existed it was then he realized something, he was alive, alive and healed that in itself was strange to him. he still had dried blood on himself to prove that his injuries weren't an illusion that had been lifted. he flexed his hands scrunching them into fists and then stretching them apart. he then remembered meeting his sister, his younger sister, they had looked at the sky and he had heard his mothers voice and he'd cried then as well. he wondered if his moms presence had anything to do with this situation but he didn't want to ask, he'd let this new maddie tell him, without his ideas tainting what she said.

Maddie looked at Jayson. He was old enough, and smart enough to see the differences that Maddie had to his mother. "My name is Maddie. And from what I have pieced together I am from another universe. I didn't marry your father in my world... Today I woke up in this park and ran into your dad... So I am still trying to get my bearings and just understand... Genetically, I am the exact same as your mother, but in my world you were never born..." Maddie said kind of sadly. She wished that she could have had Sky for just one more night... since that was the night she would have conceived Jayson and Sasha... She almost regretted not being a mom in her own world... but she had never met anyone who she had wanted to have kids with. In truth, she had just never gotten over Sky...

Maddie sighed, she wished that she knew how to be a mom, but she was a 22 year old who had only loved once... Maddie pushed some of Jayson's hair behind his ear. "All day, I have doubting this place, but I can't deny how I feel connected to you. Do you know how much you look like your dad? He looked exactly like you when we met..." She said with a soft smile. She could just see Sky in everything that Jayson did... The way he talked, the way he smiled... Even the way his eyes danced...

Maddie had to look away. She wished that she had been given this boy... She knew that if she had been a mom when Sky died she would have done everything differently.. If only the world had given her one more night...

Jayson watched her and listened to her as she spoke, so she was a Maddie from another universe that was...strange.. but he had been accustomed to stranger, for example he was actually only six, doesn't get weirder then that. "i see, so what about aunt void? does she exist in the other world as well as this one?" he said, he aunt had always been one of his best friends, before he had ditched him of course, but still she had always been there for him before the whole ditching thing. it would be weird if void didn't exist in the other world, heck sad even. for a kid Jayson was being very understanding and accepting of what this maddie was saying, but at this point not much phased him anymore.

Maddie was a little saddened by his question... She remembered Voids smile, and Voids thoughts.... Her world had been so empty without her twin... and she knew that would be exactly how her twin in this world would have felt... Maddie frowned and shook her head no. "Sky, Alexa, Void and a few others died that day..." Maddie said sadly. "Why do you ask about her? I understand that she disappeared with your little sister when the me of this world died.... but she didn't take you?" Maddie asked, unaware that this was a sore spot for Jayson. Then Maddie thought of something and her frown deepened... "And What were you doing that you got beat up like that? I mean I realize you are 16 or something, but you were almost beaten to death..." Maddie said a hint of dead Maddie's anger spilling into her voice. This was a question that dead Maddie had wanted to know... She didn't care about the rest... She just cared about her son... Maddie wasn't even going to think about how dead Maddie was talking in her head... she didn't want to even think about it... but that Maddie's anger was definitely in Maddie's tone as she asked this question... What kind of trouble could this boy be into?

He's Sky's son... The other Maddie said... as if that explained everything. She could tell the other Maddie knew what her son had been doing, either because she had seen or some Mom superpower... She wasn't going to tell Maddie though...
