The Night’s Life Bar is one of those places that people don’t like to talk about in polite society. A dark sparkling void, where feuds and wars are checked at the door as the monsters of the night seek oblivion in music and mild poisons. One of those dirty and low-class establishments that the Ventrue snobs would turn a nose up at, not that their opinions matter to the types of creatures that frequent its neon and shadow rooms. That thought makes Marianna laugh into her vodka and blue-raspberry mixer with a juvenile sense of disrespect. The opinions of the Ventrue don’t matter to her at all. Oh, sure, she has to keep her manners and mind her p’s and q’s at the Prince’s court, when she even bothers to go, but no one ever threatens them with a beating when they sneer over her fashion choices. Or lack there of. Steel tipped construction boots, patched jeans, faintly bloodstained turtleneck, cheap faux-fur vest and shoulder-length hair that looks and smells like it hasn’t been washed in a week. Yeah, she couldn’t give a rat’s ass what they said. She was comfortable, dammit. Marianna’s a Malkavian. They’re all crazy, right? Yeah. Right. It would take a keen eye to spot this vampire at the bar, taking a long pull from a brightly colored drink that she’ll just have to vomit up later anyway. Can’t stomach anything besides blood. It’s like getting the hangover without the rush. What fun! Now if she really wanted a quick kicker, she’d gnaw on the fairy folk that frequent the place. Or maybe one of the many werewolf groups that take advantage of the neutral ground to grumble and growl menacingly at each other. But no. She’s drinking to help keep her cover. Vampires aren’t real welcome in these parts. She isn’t here to feed. She is here to pick up information. The woman has keen senses and perception, taking in details that most would let slip by and coming up with the most creative applications. Sometimes she’s even willing to share. Marianna might not get along with the bulk of her race, but she is useful and they know it and she knows it and she is going to milk that relationship for all it’s worth. Anything to get a shot at those Sabbath bastards who think they have a right to kill for their own amusement. Who don’t give a damn who suffers or who gets exposed Killing is fun, Marianna admits that to herself, the violent little twelve year old inside that escapes under pressure reveling in it, as if its all just a grand game of life and death. Maybe it is. But she has a line she doesn’t cross. A sense of justice in a blood-sucking mad-woman with violent tendencies and a problem with regression under stress. She doesn’t look like much. Pale. Skinny. Dirty as sin and twice as broke. But she’ll do anything, Anything, in this dark world to protect the light, whatever light she can find. And so there is something about her. Something otherworldly. .Not even vampire otherworldly, something else, something from the times she can’t remember, from before her embrace. The vaguest sense of childish innocence. Even when she bloody and furious and fierce, too tenacious to stop fighting when she’s won or been defeated. The fairies like her. That alone is enough to keep her from draining them, no matter the temptation. She gets along with animals too. Hell, even the ghosts can tolerate her. Now the lawyers… those… she ought to avoid. Stupid restraining orders. Marianna’s just spoiling for a fight. And she’s got a feeling this is going to be one hell of a night. Rules: This game is based vaguely off of the world of darkness series. What this means, is that I will not specificy which books, and you are not required to know anything about World of Darkness, but if you do, then you can use them as much as you would like. The premise of this is a vampire, werewolf and other such thing kind of game set in modern times. The humans do not know that the others exist. Feel free to be humorous or dark as you see fit. No God-moding. Do not control another person's character with out their consent, do not kill another without their consent, and please no suber-uber powerful characters that ruin the game for everyone else. Oh, and post a bio. Name: Marianna D’Herdin Race: Vampire Description: She is a tall woman, about 6’2 and skinny, with pale skin and shoulder length black hair. She’s wearing construction boots, jeans, slightly blood stained turtle neck and a fake fur vest and black leather gloves. There is both something child-like and threatening about her. Powers/abilities: Her senses are amazing and she is constantly observing the details around her, using her vampire powers to view the auras around her. She has an affinity for fairies and animals, which dampens the discomfort they feel at her vampire ness. She is very good at mimicking people that she observes, including mannerism and tone of voice. Marianna is a fierce brawler and hand-to-hand combatant, significantly stronger and faster than she looks; and she loves fighting. Bio: Marianna does not remember anything from before her embrace, although, truth be told, she does not try particularly hard to remember very much about after that either. She drifts through vampire politics, more interested in pursuing her own agendas than gaining power, but is easily swayed following orders when they are explained in a way that she finds interesting or useful. She is a fierce protector of the weak and the helpless, following a strongly held moral code. When under stress she reverts into a child like mental state, a particularly violent child at times, but easily confused and frightened. Because of this, she makes a point of protecting children the way that she would want to be protected. Her current residence is under a bridge and she feeds off of homeless people. -------------------- "You can not kill a dreamer"

Name: Edmundo Martinez
”Race”: Mage Tradition: Cult of Ecstasy Physical Description: Edmundo is a lanky fellow, over six feet tall, looking as though he had been put on the rack while growing, his arms and legs seem a bit stretched. He has olive-colored skin and dark brown hair, kept in a messy lump on top of his head. His facial features are angular, accented by a short goatee. He tends to wear small sunglasses at most times, even when highly unnecessary. He wears somewhat loose clothing, usually in shades of blue and green, with a favorite black vest always tacked on. Edmundo is almost always smiling, which is most likely in concurrence with the fact that he is almost always high on something. He carries himself with an aloofness that betrays his deeper understanding of how the world works (or seems to work). SUPER AWESOME MAGIC POWERS: While outsiders might think that he is out of touch with the “real world,” due to the ever-present mind-influencing substances in his body, Edmundo is intimately familiar with the strands of fate and flow of time. A Disciple of the art of Entropy, he can tug at the threads of fate to better himself. While he cannot determine exact outcomes, he can fortify or decay machines, give himself outstanding luck, and sense his enemies’ weaknesses. As a Disciple of the art of Time, Edmundo can distort time in small areas, causing someone to slow down or speed up, allow him divinations of the past or future, and sense temporal anomalies. Others may merely see him as being lucky and a bit quick. In order to cast, Edmundo prefers to use music, as the beat of the music flows smoothly with that of time itself, not static but rather speeding up and slowing down as it goes along. Background: Edmundo grew up in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. It wasn’t until he left the island to go to school in the States that he Awakened. He went to a party, where he was given his first drug, Ecstasy. This, however, was no normal E and was laced with Glamour, the means by which faeries cast their magic. He suddenly found himself among a number of strange beings, no longer quite human. This sudden realization caused him to Awaken, soon after joining the Ecstatics and the Fellowship of Pan, a faction with close ties to the Fae creatures. It was with them that he started to revel in music and the magic of fate, twisting the songs and magic together to create something much more amazing. He only recently came to this city, an emissary of both mages and changelings, as well as wanting to find what new experiences this city holds. -------------------- "Great peril demands formidable weaponry." ~ Urza Planeswalker ![]() |
