Board Description -
Star Wars: Descension is a sandbox Star Wars RP set in the post Legacy era. Everything is after the movies, the comics, the games and such. Our plots are entirely member driven and updates about them can be easily found.

The current story:
- The Sith have risen from the ashes they were left in after two emperors vanished on them and left them amidst civil war. They became the Sith Imperium and took half the Glaaxy over in a year long campaign.
- The same campaign nearly wiped the Alliance out, which consisted of the Jedi and Rebels. They were reduced to a single ship that made its way with the survivors from Dantooine to Firrerre, where they are currently trying to establish a new base and a new temple, and to rebuild.
- Random people belonging to the Criminal Underground have suddenly begun to vanish. They wake up and find themselves in a locked up, padded down asylum, and they are unable to escape...
- The drums of the Witches of Dathomir are beating faster and harder, and soon they will break apart from the Imperium and rise again...

And of course, that is just the general setting. On Star Wars: Descension, we try to provide an overview of the entire Galaxy. In between that, you'll find junkies, teenagers, musicians, whores, normal people, politicians, simple people, socialites. If there is someone with a story, they will find their way to tell it.

Anything Else -
I'll be using the monthly updates to tell you how the story develops; what I've written here is how things were at the time of joining the Hub.

We have a very active chat room, which is busy during most hours of the day, since our member base is spread around the world.

All new people joining us will receive at least one cookie and at least several licks. And may the Force be with you!

July has been the busiest month in Descension history! I'm going to update here on three things, (1) the upcoming new factions, (2) IC updates and (3) numbers. So whatever is more important to you, you have something to look at and judge whether you wanna give us a test drive or not :lol:

WITCHES OF DATHOMIR

United under one Supreme Mother, the Witches face a future unseen since the time of Allya. Two planets, women and men of all sides. No longer will the Dathomiri allow outsiders to decide for them, no longer will they let anything separate them. Though the alliance is still fragile and in its early stages, the Witches are coming together and writing new laws. Only few may be powerful now but young Witches are rising to what will someday be theirs. Whether you see yourself as good, evil or neutral; it doesn't matter. We are all. We are one.

Yes, the witches are back! After a few months they gathered themselves up, got more members who are interested in being witches, and they are back with a vengeance!

True to the time of this update, the Witches of Dathomir have 8 unique writers in their faction.

THE EMPIRE IN EXILE

The Empire-in-Exile formed as a response to Sith rule. Knowing the chaos and destruction that the Sith have wrought throughout the many decades of Galactic history, banished Dynast-King Tyren Helios of Alderaan has staged an uprising. Gathering covert elements from all walks of life across the Galaxy. The Dynast-King has even ordered the creation of a new sect of Force-users, the Imperial Knights, serving the Emperor much as the Imperial Guards of old did, but better-prepared to handle the challenges of a modern Galaxy.

Based on the Fel Empire, the Empire in Exile is the rising Empire that is not Evil. We tried to describing it differently. So far we've kinda failed :lol:

True to the time of this update, the Empire in Exile have 9 unique writers in their faction.

This is a fun update! :lol:

First of all, the members of Descension have broken an all time record, by completing 42 threads this month! Some of them are racing to to break the record yet again this August We're already at 22 and people are writing like crazy, with close to 100 IC posts a day.

In other awesome news, we've completed two very important takeovers; Descension has had its first major takeover, with the Sith invading Eriadu and being opposed by both Jedi and Rebels. It took us almost 3 months, but we completed it and it's a big beautiful thread.

The other big beautiful took 3 months to complete as well, but now the Alliance (Jedi & Rebels), who have previously been brought to the bring of destruction, have set their HQ on Firrerre, and now plans are being made to keep making them stronger and stronger.

The two factions spoken of previously have been approved! And not only that, we've also changed the rules regarding Rogue Characters (characters that do not belong to any faction), and these are not permitted. So what kind of factions can characters join on Descension? Let's have a recap :)

The Criminal Underworld - The name speaks for itself. This is the collection of all peolpe who are criminals on Descension, who don't have the benefit of using "but I'm a Sith!" as a mantle of protection.
The Alliance - The joined forces of the Jedi and the Rebels, the Alliance is the most active faction insofar as group activity goes. They are currently trying to expand their territory to Bakura, after the Sith have found their previous location on Firrerre and nearly burned it to the ground.
The Sith Imperium - The empire of the Sith, who are currently facing civil war as hierarchy fights break out from within.
Empire in Exile - The empire that was formed to stand against the Sith, with the Imperial Knights.
Witches of Dathomir - Recently brought back, the Witches of Dathomir are all the Witch Clans of the planet, frmo Nightsisters to Good Witches, daughters of Alia, all brought together under a new clan mother who has also ended the official status of male enslavement (that is not to say that it has come to an end, though).

Numbers Updates

August 2011 saw the completion of 83 threads on Descension! It was by far our most active IC month since starting up in April '10!

We are also very, very close to breaking the 100,000 post mark!
