Alrighty... SONIC THE HEDGEHOG for the PS3 and the Xbox360...
Funny how it's not being released on the Nintendo Revelution (or whatever it's called now that they changed the name), when Nintendo owns SEGA's share. But enough about that.. let's talk about the game. 1. From the looks of what I've seen... Sonic Team has done a kick ozz job on the graphics. A big leap for SEGA.. On previous Sonic games, Sonic was only limited to about 1500 polygons.. (the less polygons, the more 'square looking' he is) On the new game, he's now at about to one thousand (or more, I might be wrong) polygons! That means that his features are waaay more realistic and it give the player a better feel of what Sonic is really like graphic wise. Also.. the stages.. are freaking huge. Outstanding. They've done a great job on that - everything is so detailed - from the moving clouds in the sky, to a single blade of grass.. and they all interact with what you do. Not to mention the Real Time experience of the stage changing from day to night. Seriously... if you have Sonic standing there long enough, a day will actualy go by. Overall, the game has some sweet eye candy. 2. A different physics engine! Yay! *claps* Can you belive it? They've used the same engine for Half Life (2?)... Which makes things even more realistic with the graphics. If Sonic was to hit and enemy, it would blast back and knock into things, which reacts to that event, i.e bricks falling down if a robot hits it. A very nice combo. 3. Story. I don't really know the storyline of the whole thing, but I think it's got its typical, "Eggman is trying to take over the planet and Sonic gets all the Chaos Emeralds before him so he can stop his plans" plot. I must say though, Eggman has stopped with the kiddy-like enemies, and hopefully made the gameplay a LOT more challenging (but when I seen the demo, the robots were killed just as easy as any other previous game). Well, that's so far I have now... Hopefully, I can inform you about what else is going on in the making of the new game. |
