(OOC: Since Linda doesn't have much time currently (and I'm bored right now), I'll just skip the telephone call :sweat2: .)
Deerswift to Amberstrike, Evenstar (Shadeheart)
Amberstrike and Evenstar could only hear part of the one-sided telephone call as Deerswift kept her voice low. "Yes, Shadeheart, what's ... Yes ... Yes, of course. Did she say what exactly ... Okay, I understand. Yes. I'll come down as soon as I can. Okay. See you later, Shadeheart."
The obstetrician replaced the receiver and returned to the pair, her face worried though she tried to smile it away. "I'm sorry - an urgent private matter came up." she apologized. Her gaze was guarded when she looked at her cousin - she did not know if he already knew that Longpath was sick and needed some donation (though what exactly it was, Shadeheart had not been able to tell her, too) but if he did, she doubted he would let himself get tested.
"Okay, back to you." she smiled at Evenstar. "So - any pain or other unusual feeling? Dizziness or nausea?"

Evenstar to Deerswift/Amberstirke
"Oh," Evenstar said as the doctor explained that it was just a personal call. The shop owner wanted to ask if everything was alright, but before she could, Deerswift began asking questions.
"No,--" She began, but stopped. After the fall, she did faint. But that had more to do with seeing her former lovemate then anything else, right? Or at least she tried to convince herself of that. Deciding it was better to say something, she began again. "Actually, I did faint today."

Nisha, Sorano (Rey-luv helped with this one)
Nisha walked into the bar and ordered a tall latte from Sorano. "Here you go sweetie, how have you been? I heard you were out of town for a bit?" Nisha took the drink and paid for it. "Yeah, you remember Oren, right? From my therapy group? Tamal's brother." "Sure I remember him." "Well, as you know he was in the group because he was afraid of horses? Well he isn't, anymore. He deicided he was ready to face his fear and wanted me to support him in it. So we went to this ranch where they have riding lessons specificially for people who are trying to cope with fears related to horses. And it worked! It took some lessons but finally he was able to ride a horse without being afraid." "That's wonderful!" "Yeah well, he's not the only one who's been cured of their fears." "What do you mean... you don't say..." "Yeah. I was so happy for him, I gave him a big kiss in the stables. We sort of got a bit carried away with that, I think it was all the adrenaline. Ended up in a pile of hay... for some reason I wasn't afraid. It just felt so good. He made me feel very good. I think I might be into guys afterall." Sorano grinned. "Good for you. I always knew you were, that's why I told you to get therapy." Nisha blushed. "Shouldn't have told you I had a crush on Tamal in elementary school." Sorano giggled. "Aw, but then you'd have missed all this fun." Nisha sighed, and sipped from her latte. "Yeah well, I wouldn't be having this problem either." "What problem?" "I'm pregnant. Did the test today. It was a bit too spontaneous, we both forgot all about contraception. I've got an appointment to the doctor tomorrow, to verify the test result and so on. And I just know if I should tell Oren at all. I mean, we're not likely to meet again anytime soon... we both were to the therapy group one last time to tell of our success, then we quit." "What are you talking about? Of course you have to tell him! It's obvious there were some sparks between you." "He is in a relationship, two relationships to be precise. He's got enough on his plate already. He felt a bit bad afterwards, sort of like he'd been cheating although they haven't promised to be exclusive. He said it would be the last time, nice though it was. He was very kind and apologetic about it." "I still think you should tell him, but that's just my opinion." Sorano sighed.

((OOC: Adding an elf!))
Balin
Balin sat beside the hospital bed, watching the staff leave one by one. Someone told him their commiserations, he did not react. He kept looking at the monitor, willing the straight line to rise and fall again. Of course his will could not change it. His daughter was dead. Someone had lifted the edge of the sheet over Nahoku's face. He pulled it aside, wanting to look on her once more. She seemed like she were sleeping. Bandages covered half her face. It had been a bad accident, and they had warned him she might not survive the surgery. It had been a necessary risk, he tried to convince himself, without the surgery she would have died for certain. She had been unconscious since the accident. Nahoku had been a passenger in a car that had driven off a cliff. The driver was perhaps fortunate to have died instantly, or else Balin would have given him a painful death for his carelessness. He held Nahoku's hand, wishing he could turn back time.
