I think I love the community/family feeling of it all. In this family you have so many differnet types of people... Each one so very interesting with their own amazing talents. It's a great thing to be part of something that not everyone knows about either. When you meet other anime fans there is an instant bond created.
Also, there are many different branches of being an anime fan too, in my opinion. A whole bunch of people like one general thing, but even with in that there are many different types of things. These things of course being animated shows from Japan. To the general not knowing public, anime may just look like cartoons that are made for and watched by kids. It may be true that many cartoons are made FOR kids, but anime extends the cartoon looking shows into something that an American cartoon show could never do. Many anime reaches down into your heart, soul, and mind and makes you feel and think something that truly is special. It can change your life forever. Watching an anime can completely turn your current mood around, or even your outlook on life.

Ok, okay. It is way too late at night for me to be thinking coherently right now. I'm sorry that what I typed is such a mess. There is just so much I love about being an anime fan... I don't know how to put it into words quite yet. I am truly sorry~

I think that was a very rational and understandable statement and I agree with you wholeheartedly :) It is great to have you join the Shadow Followers because you respect and love anime, fandom, and most importantly J. Michael Tatum :D
