Title: Hello fellow Shadow Followers!
Description: I am Daniel Nye
dr_indigo - August 10, 2011 10:21 PM (GMT)
My name is Daniel, I was born on June 19th 1991 in South East England, I am a writer, (storyboard) artist, director, producer, voice actor and a fan of J. Michael Tatum and That Anime Show.
In terms of my anime background, I saw Pokemon and Digimon as a kid, as I'm sure most of us have, but in 2008, my friend Jack introduced me to, what I would say, superior anime like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Oban Star-Racers, Blood the Last Vampire and my personal Favourite Haruhi Suzumiya (E8 I'm still not a fan on, but I've come to terms with that) and the full feature film was astonishing. Then I saw Lucky Star (For the Haruhi Suzumiya references and Lucky Channel segments), K-On! (the Abridged Series is to blame for that), Fullmetal Alchemist and FMA:Brotherhood (Of course!), Ouran Host Club (Yes, I'm a dude, so what?), Summer Wars (Damn you for making me cry, Brina!) and recently, my new favourite anime show, My Bride is a Mermaid (Seriously, must watch Episode 20. Michael plays Lunar's father who sounds like Scar, parodies the Terminator and goes cross dressing.)
In short, Michael is amazing.
Thank you for your time,
Daniel.
Also, I'm posting up my collection of Fan art on my Facebook page (Tere is some in the That Anime Show page) I'll post a link up soon.

Wow, you're certainly getting detailed, Daniel.
As your friend, may I be the first to welcome you to the Shadow Followers!
We like to ask some questions of our newer members, to get to know them a little.
What is your favorite book or story?

Hey, HeartScar!
In terms of my favourite story, I would say The Gobbler by my comedy hero, Adrian Edmondson. The best summary for it would be Julian Mann's acting career is on the skids: his agent is playing up, he has a pathalogical desire to bed every attractive young girl in sight, he suspects his wife might be succumbing to the charms of his arch-rival and he's once more having to avoid the manic attention of his number one admirer, a woman he's privately labelled the Psycho-Fan.
But lately, I'm getting into a journal of another favourite comedian of mine, Dara O'Briain, talking about his tour in the country, called "Tickling the English". It's interesting to see an Irish comedian's views on the country the both of us live in and how he feels that the people he meets in the theatres are much different than say if he met them on the streets.
Feel free to ask whatever you want, and as promised, my artwork collection (Facebook link, not sure if you need to add me to see it or not)

I kinda know you! Another TAS fan and chatroom regular :)
Welcome to the Shadow Followers!
Now for your question...
If you could have any anime animal/non-human sidekick as your own, which one would you chose and why?

Thank you. Not so much regular any more since I have a job that cuts into the chatroom, unfortunately, so if you could give my best regards to everyone this weekend, I will be greatful.
Oh, that's an interesting question. I can't say I have a final and well thought answer for that, but I'm thinking either a dolphin or a mermaid, so they can help me swim. Not a great answer but that's all I have right now, and mermaids are on my mind because of "My Bride is a Mermaid" which HeartScar will tell you that I annoy her about that show.

YOU'RE THE GUY WHO DREW THE PICTURE OF SCAR STRANGLING MICHAEL?! *bows* I AM NOT WORTHY!
Sorry but that had to be done. Anywho, Here's my question (which is really stupid). I have yet to travel internationally so, please, tell me, what is it like in England?

(Nervous laugh) Thank you, but there's no need for that.
Actually, I got back that very picture this morning from HeartScar with Michael's signature on it, for which I am very honoured, yet upset I couldn't meet him in person.
And about England... right now, my comments after the events of the riot are not positive ones, but this country has some wonderful countryside areas. But not everyone here is as easy going as myself. And in my area, it's not so great, some of the people are rude at times, for instance, a very good comedian called Alan Carr was doing a tour once but he was ridiculed because of his sexuality and he was disgusted by their behavior, and he's right.
To be honest, asking someone from England "What's England like?", 9 times out of 10, you won't hear a positive answer.

Oh, I'm sorry to ask such a bad question. I was just curious.
Here, let me redeem myself. When did you start drawing?
dr_indigo - August 11, 2011 03:21 PM (GMT)
No, it wasn't a bad question, we're just not that great a country. I'm sorry for disappointing you.
I've been into drawing for a while, about as long as I can remember, I've been drawing fan art, I think since early 2009. Before that it was just drawings of my own characters to which I am animating.
Animation is a big part of my life, and I'm told all the time that an animator must keep up with their drawing skills, of course. I was a little put off by 3D CGI at first (Some of it is cool), I am more into traditional, flash and stop motion animation, but when I did my first animation intro using Maya, I understand why alot of people use it.
I have a passion for telling a story first, though. This is a documentary me and my friend Tom (who came up with the idea, directed it, operated the camera and was the main editor) finished in June, it's called
The Private Life of a Postman.

Best reaction evar, if I may say so.

And YOU, you little liar! Telling me that you couldn't sign fan art at Otakon! I thought something was unusual about that, but damn you! Still, I am greatful that you did that, and I'm glad he signed your Black Butler box. Thank you.

Oh, but my dear, I merely stretched the truth. It all turned out right in the end. :D
dr_indigo - August 11, 2011 05:39 PM (GMT)
Well, that is true. But that was a little bit cheeky, although I see why you did it.
