These are the rules of Role Playing in the world of Scary Tales Please look over them carefully if you don't follow these rules; you will not like the consequences.

Activity ~ All members are required to post in character at least once every two weeks with every character that they role play at Scary Tales except when on an extended leave.

Quality ~ Each time a member posts in character they are expected to provide their fellow role players with a post of quality. This means at least a paragraph post. Also spelling and grammar do not have to be exactly correct, just as long as what you’re saying is understandable.

Leaving for a long period of time ~ Any member who is going to be unable to post in character for more than two weeks should make sure to note that he/she will be unable to continue the game for an estimated amount of time. Please think of how unfair it is to other players to wait while you’re away.

Content ~ Scary Tales has no limits or restrictions on what members can post in character, however, because our host does not tolerate it, you may not post any: pornography, illegal activities, flaming/personal attacks etc. More information can be found in the Forum Guidelines


You cannot be in two places at once ~ Being in two places at once is physically impossible. Scary Tales takes place in real time, meaning time moves on just as it does in the real world.


New!Traveling ~ This rule coincides with the being at two place at once Rule. Because the forum takes place in real time you may not jump section to section. In other words if you were in Sundra, and wanted to go to Oz you would have to pass through Emerald City. This is to just keep things more realistic, just because you say you leave one section you can’t just magically appear in another in real time. Now this rule isn’t made to be unreasonable and you don’t have to do it everywhere but try to keep it in mind. You are also exempt from this rule if your character can fly or teleport. However you must always post in the Looking Glass while traveling through Wonderland to NeoWonderland and vise versa.

No God Playing ~ This means you can’t control the fate of another character. So do not speak for them, do don’t move for them, and do not attack them with the expectation they will die spontaneously.

No Power Play ~ This means you are not invulnerable to every attack. So you can not walk away from a serious hit uninjured and just laugh it off. You can not dodge everything that comes at you ever single time without a reasonable means for doing so.

Immortality Limits ~ Although you may be able to live forever as you age, you are not immortal to attacks. Every character can be killed while at the Looking Glass. There are a lot of exceptions to this rule, for one no one can be killed in Sundra. This rule takes effect in every area unless the section specifically states otherwise (like the Sundra example).

Sexual Content Limits ~ For some reason people seem to mistake dark fantasy RPG for dark sexual RPG, but this could not be farther from the truth. A little romance in your topics is fine, but there is to be no weird cyber sex junk, or any graphic sexual references to organs, or anything of the like. This is perhaps an R rated forum for blood and gore, but the sensual junk be sure to keep at a PG-13 level.


Keep in mind when you enter Scary Tales you are naked besides the clothes on your back. You may not bring any types of weapons to the land with you. When you enter Scary Tales your appearance may also slightly alter, as the land has different effects on different people. You must keep in mind the atmosphere of the land is a Gothic Renaissance, so you won’t see many things from the modern day real world their, after all the lands inhabitants look at our world as being a fairy tale.


Also remember the concept of Wonderland isn't playing as well known fairy tale characters, it is about encountering twisted versions of them that thrive on nightmares and terror, that are mostly controlled by the staff. Try to make your character original, you have a lot to choose from.
