Once upon a time there lived a beautiful lion named Verden. Her pelt was as white as a cloud in the sky, and her eyes as blue as the ocean. The past behind her was dawnting, but she didn't want to let go right now. She wandered the African Savannah alone, always on the look out for other lions. And this time, it smelt like she had struck gold. She knew she had crossed the boundries of a pride awhile back, and she also knew it was just a matter of time before she ran into a pride member, hopefully the lead male. It crossed her mind that she might not be welcome here, but that thought didn't stay for long. She would make her way into the pride, her stubborn side would allow that. Or would it?
Her pawsteps seemed to echo around the emty night. The land seemed almost deserted, but she knew night was the time lion prides went hunting, and to her this seemed like the place they would come. In the distance she could see a zebra herd grazing - or was that just her mind? Either or, she wouldn't risk taking prey on a pride's land. Besides, zebra were almost impossible to take down alone; she'd probably end up with a most likely fatel injury. She didn't really like the thought of dying like that, although she knew it would probably happen some day. So insted, she changed her direction and headed towards the Eastern horrizon. Maybe something - or someone - could be found out there.
A sudden stop was taken by the breaktaking lioness. Her head turned upwards as her eyes amired the cresent shaped moon and the sparkling stars. She looked for the brightest one, and when she found it, smiled. She knew it was her old grandmother, Zeelia. Zeelia had died in Verden's cubhood, but that didn't stop her from being remembered. She was one of the kindest lions in the pride, and treated Verden and her brother Micky equally, even though Verden had a white pelt. A pang of an odd guilt, understandible homesickness and old sadness ran through her as she lowered her head. But she was on the lookout right now, she wouldn't let herself get depressed. And so the lioness pressed onwards.

Freja was barely seen, in her aimless wandering through the tall weeds. Her coat blended well, too well. She let her yellow pools search for living, something. She was of this pride and just new in it. Eaten and napped she was ready to have some fun, the lead male was... well she wasn't sure she didn't really cared, she craved the companionship of her own gender more than him. Paws kept padding her forward, silent as the night. She all the sudden took a short brief halt, eyes locked on the white of a moving creature.
She tensed, then shrank away, coming at it. She watched it, realizing that it was in fact a lioness! She smiled with pleasure, she must have came to join the pride, that meant she wasn't alone! She shrank away and moved ahead, coming out in the path she was taking and sitting. She did not want to scare the fae but simply talk, maybe... Auds swiveled off her head as the moon-washed fae came into view, Freja gently called out, hopping not to frighten her, Why do you dwell on these lands?
Her tone implied a friendly manner, and one welcoming the fae, well almost. She had to be on guard she knew but she wasn't the least bit afraid. Cranium tilted studying her. Oculars of pale blue, white coat? She had never seen such a thing but she knew that pelt meant little to her, it might on the other hand mean more to Setteh. She wanted to laugh but kept it in as not to be rude. Limbs carrying from a sit position to a stand. The fae was quite small, not overly small but slightly. This fae was bigger than her but most lions where, so why should she be afraid? The lion looked friendly, but perhaps it was the image in her imagination because she was somewhat lonely. She let a gentle smile slip on her maw, she really wanted the fae to stay and talk, not to runaway so if she acted nice enough she figured she would... hopefully?

The ears that were pinned on her head turned as she heard something. With the moon shining bright with it's light stolen from the sun, Verden turned. She blinked a couple of times, flicking her tail. And then she saw it. Was it...? Yes, indeed it was. A grin instantly lit up her face as she took a couple of bounds towards the orth lioness. She seemed friendly enough. It was Freja's pawsteps that she had heard. Her ears picked up noise as the other lioness spoke.
Verden's grin resided to a smile. She dropped her eyelids and dipped her head, adknowledging this naturally coloured lioness as a resident of this land. How did she know? Well, it was just insinct really. Opening her eyes and bringer her head up, the white lioness' eyes took in Freja. She seemed friendly, yet sure of herself even though she was slightly smaller then Verden. A pang of envy ran through the beauty's heart as she noticed the other's pelt. She had the naturall shades of a lioness, which meant it would be easier for her to hunt. Snorting inwadly, Verden forgot this in an instant.
"I'm here based on the simple fact that I scented a pride - your pride, by any chance?" Verden said, her smile never wavering. "Verden's the name."

"No, this pride would be mine" a deep voice answered from the brush. There was a moment when nothing could be seen but the long stalks of the grass but then the form of the lion came forward as if he had been born out of the blades of grass right there and then. His coat was a natural amber sand colored, his mane a variance of browns and ambers. His eyes were a clear shade of distinct amber. Crania was held high and his tass was even lifted some slightly, in the manner of a wolf. But the voice that was emitted from the large brute was deeper than any wolf had ever been able to emit. "Greetings Verden. I am Settah and I am the lead male of these pridelands" he explained with a curt tip of his head towards her. After all, he was generally polite to females...most of the time.
A chuckle rose slightly in his throat as his gaze left the pale coated lioness to the golden shaded one. He winked at Freja at the same time murmmuring, "Glad to see your enjoying yourself." With a light grunt he fell back onto his haunches causing dust to rise from where his rump had fallen against the earth. He remained quiet for a moment, his intense gaze moving swiftly and efficiantly over the lioness before him. This new fatale, Verden, was an odd sort. She had crisp blue eyes that seemed to hold innocence within them, but then again, there was maybe a shade or two of them that spoke of a darker side that caused the inner beast in Settah to rouse slightly. But besides her eyes was the simple matter of her coat. It was bleached as pale as the shores on a beach and seemed to glow in the raydiance of the moonlight. She seemed deprived of all color but there was a sort of mystical aurora, at least at the time. Another chuckle rose in his throat but he swallowed it, his mind now thinking about how to voice his thoughts.
That very afternoon he had left Freja after a sucessful hunt and headed towards the hills when the delightful scent of a second femora upon his land had caughten his nares. Upon scenting that he had turned himself around and come here only to find that Freja had managed to find the femora first. It was a pity wasn't it. Yes, that it was. The night seemed to do strange things to both lions and lionesses alike at the time Settah was feeling what humans could call 'dirty'. Ah well, he could wait. Come breeding season he would enjoy himself to the fullest and at the moment it was only a want that urged him to do such a thing. With a slightly laugh he spoke, his tone warm and welcoming. "You wish to join my pride, something I do not at all look down upon. However, you must have something you can bring to the pride before you are accepted in as a member" he explained. He followed this with a nod of his head a sign for her to tell him about herself some.

The femme studied the other, she was friendly and it pleased her to see that. She paused, listening intently to her name and why she was here. Opening her maw to speak was quickly stopped in mid action. There he was, always around. Setteh, the lead, came rolling in, pelt perfect for the surroundings. She watched him, not upset but a bit interested. He acknowledged her and she bowed her head back, only faintly catching his words, a small smile creeping cross her vis. Enjoy herself? Why, she hadn't thought it to be enjoyable to wander aimlessly but coming 'pon the fae she had been somewhat enjoying herself. She couldn't say she was upset either at his apearance, perhaps it only lightened her mood to see how the two lions would interact. To see if this fae dubbed Verden could prove herself. Freja thought about it, he had never asked her to prove herself. She gave another weak smile, perhaps it well as she proved herself before asking, or maybe he just took pity on her? She stopped the smile. He better have not! I shall...
The males next words broke her thoughts. She gave a silent sigh and shoved it away to the back of her head, the important matter now was the femme before her. What was her name... Verden. The thought came to her and she moved her oculars to the moonwashed fae. She let her back legs slide, hind end hitting the ground with the faintest of thumps. She glanced to the tawny colored stud. He seemed to be pondering, thinking, over something. Freja adjusted herself, she wasn't impatient but a bit restless. It was odd for her to be so active, perhaps it was that she couldn't worry over anything? That was it! She had everything, food, water, and protection. She had always been alone, that meant fending for herself and well that led to worry. It wasn't till now that she realized that she was so restless.
Her paws flexed on the ground and she let her oculars glance around. It was dark, the shadows of many beasts where dotted on the savannah. She looked past them disinterested, she had fed earlier and probably wouldn't eat again till tomorrow, or even the day after. Her tassel flittered on the ground, its shadow seeming as if alive. Her auds swiveled around, trying to detect anything alive. Everything was surreal and peaceful. The savannah was shed with a blanket of silence, only broken by the yapping of some canine creature. It bothered her a bit that some of the sound where so near, she hated canines. She shifted her weight a bit annoyed at the creatures yowling, but they would dare not attack them she knew. For even the stupidest of animals did not dare challenge a lion unless it was one, and even then it showed either courage or idiocy...

Suddenly, another voice reached the snowy lioness' ears. This voice was deeper, harsher - it was defnitly a male's. And the words just confirmed her suspition. She could hardly contain a chuckle - oh no, she hadn't ment the question quite like that. More like... are you a member of this pride. Ah well, it didn't really matter. Strainening up, Verden bowed her head to Settah.
"My Lord, Settah, I'm honered to meet you." Oh God, could she have sounded any cheesier? Oh well. It was always good to make a first impression... right? She smiled warmly, all the while taking in Settah. He didn't seem too violent, or filled with lust; that was a good sign. Suddenly her ears twitched, earing other words. She chuckled ever so lightly as the male spoke to Freja. Suddenly realising that she was still bowing, Verden bourght her head slowly into it's normal position.
Settah's next words back Verden raise one of her invisible eyebrows. She frowned, though only slightly, pondering for a second. Finally she replied. "Well, I must say I'm not much of a hunter; the prey almost always sees me coming because of my pelt..." She said, biting her bottom lip and glancing sidewards. She was rather thin, to prove her point, but she wasn't exactly dying of starvation. "But I can hold my own agasit hyenas and jackels, so I bet I could tackle the task if ever an unwelcome guest should arrive... But I'm a happy gal, I can cheer others up and I'm hardly ever gloomy." Well, that last bit was mostly lies. Well, sorta... she did get very depressed, but not often. She grinned up at Settah, hoping he'd accept her.
With a jolt, she realised that she hadn'd flirted with this male... yet. She would hold back, but if she got accepted into the pride... who knew?

The brute watched as the female backed off slightly at his approach. Surprised at him being that close he guessed. With a slight chuckle he listened carefully to her words, he himself making no noise until she had spoken. He nodded his head in sympathetic understand as she explained about her pelt color. Yes, they would see her coming from miles away, provided they did paid attention. But even white lions served useful in hunts and Verden would most likely do so in the near furture, if of course, she made it into the pride.
The remained her words were somewhat lost on Settah as he was focussed more on her explanation on her hunting skills. He nodded numbly, his mind thinking quickly. To take on another lioness ment one more mouth to feed, but that always went one more person to hunt, always one larger quarry they can bring down. That also meant he, himself would not have to partake in the hunts, at least, not unless it was a dire situation. Chuckling slighty he nodded curtly to the femora and spoke. "Miss Verden, regardless of your pelt color the Meset are always in need of lions who not often fall into the wells of depression" he explained treating her with a somewhat fatherly smile. "As such, you are welcome to join the ranks of our small pride. Your ranking is Tano placing you equal with Freja here" he explained motioning towards the amber colored femora sitting not far away from him.
Gaze moved between the two females for a moment, summing them both up. Slowly he rose from his haunches and stretched, yawning slightly. He cast a longing glance down the hill to where he had been resting not to longingly but another had called for his prescence. Before he could go however he must ensure that Verden got some food. "Freja" he said gaze snapping onto the other lioness. "Please take Verden here to the kill, there's still enough food on it for her to get a decent meal, possibly enough for the other lion should they join our ranks" he requested, turning away from them. With a short bow of his head he turned and padded off down the hill, his pace somewhat quick but his balance ever perfect. As the moon vanished behind some clouds his body became lost in the savannah and when the moon reappeared again he was gone.
Settah has left.

Freja stood watching the two, the male showing a liking to the ivon pelted fae, but the male showed no deep emotions toward either, which was probably because he knew little of either but was he always so blunt? The femora gave an inside smile, and was nearly off in a deep thought, how many members would be in this pride? So many that there would be little time to herself such as this? She wasn't sure the idea was a pleasure but that meant a easier meal, or meals, to be pulled. She snapped back from her trance, optics staring at the brute with semi interest at his words.
There, now the fae was accepted, Freja snuck a glance to her but her face was blank. The small fae watched a moment before looking once again to the head of the pride. She nodded at his words, really only half listening, she was once again in her 'own little world'. With a slight yawn she rose to her golden mitts, watching Setteh leave. Her tail flickered up, glancing once again to the moonwashed fae.
"The kill is not awfully far but indeed a walk, quite fresh. There is still a good part of it left as Setteh stated." She flicked her crania towards the direction the male had went, her oculars gazing up as the moon was shone passing from in between clouds. She looked to the fae again, a gentle smile poised on her lips. Over all Freja found herself a gentle and nice femme, but towards males she always felt as if she had to stake a wall up, between her and them and she couldn't force her mind to stop that. Besides, none had even come close to deem themselves worthy, not even the lead now. She little knew him, he always seemed to be mustering up energy to talk to a new fae, let alone anyone else. The fae rolled her oculars at the thought and moved forward.
She crept and inched a bit before turning her maw towards the fae, making sure she was coming. Her gaze watched her a moment before she signaled the kill the way she was treading. The earth spoke softly as she crept along, her feet and body brushing against the grasses, it created a whispering sound and her paws made light tap, taps. She every once and a while glanced behind to make sure the femme behind her was coming.
