Main Races
Humans:They are the main race on the planet. Though no human is actuality 'normal' and most do have abnormals within their bloodline humans are those who often times have dormant genes from their abnormal descendants or a genetic or evolutionary advancement that is too early in it's stages to show through yet. However with source blood from vampires a human being would be able to become an abnormal though most of the source blood has since been destroyed by the Sanctuary to keep people from making dangerous abnormals again. Just because you are human does not mean you have no place in the abnormal world. The government and many human Sanctuary staff members know of the abnormals and in fact even try to help them.
Lycans:
Unlike old lore you can't be turned into a werewolf but must be born one. Wolves can change whenever they like though they often times to not have control of it. Their shifts are controlled by emotional responses. Whenever angered or threatened a wolf will shift into it's beast form. With much practice and time however a wolf may learn to control their shifts and even change when happy or content.
Mutants:
Much like in X Men mutants are humans who either through a mutation or evolution are unlike a normal human being. They can have noticeable mutations such as physical deformities or even evolutionary changes you don't notice such as powers. Some can have mind control, levitation, super speed or strength, and a number of other unusual gifts.
Vampires:
Like werewolves vampires can't be turned and can only be born. Unlike myth light didn't hurt them and holy items didn't bother them. Since the late 1800's the vampire race has been destroyed by the church but reminisce of their race still remain. Because vampires were able to mate with humans their offspring and descendants may still remain. Likewise those with dormant vampire genes exposed to source blood may have their vampire nature and abilities come through much like Nikola Tesla. This is the smallest race of all the species on Earth and to this day not a single pure bred vampires remain though a few human hybrids do including Mina Harker. (please pm the admin if you wish to rp this race to keep the population control.)
Fae:Much like faeries they are a smaller race with wings everything from butterfly, dragonfly, and everything between. They are quick, clever, and very tricky. They tend to live very long lives but retain a child like innocents and playfulness. Fae are one of the more common abnormals that shows up from time to time and have made a powerful mark on the surface world.

Other original races that you yourself have come up with and would like to make. You can look at the thread in the character creation and check out the form to make your own race or pick up someone else's race.
