She had called in her staff to a meeting in her office hoping to prepair them for what was to come or at least enough so that when the time came they wouldn't feel too utterly helpless. Everything had been falling into place lately and the pressure on the Sanctuary was increasing. The government was forcing them into a corner and tying her hands up but it wasn't stopping her. Sitting back down at her desk she poured herself a cup of tea and added one spoon full of sugar to the strong black tea. In her opinion she found tea to be far more effective than coffee and of course better tasting. How anyone could drink that dreaded substance was beyond her. One might as well sip engine oil.

Looking over the little set up a moment she wanted to make sure everyone would be comfortable for this meeting. There were enough tea cups for those coming and a bottle of wine for Tesla, red wine at that. 1879, some of her younger cheaper wine. Beside it rested a clean crystal wine glass, just another of the finer things Helen kept in her home that wasn't so practical. The clock on the wall turned it's hands to one o'clock. Now people should start coming into her office unless they were late which was quite possible. Her eyes flickered to the silver plate holding the silver tea pot and matching set with china cups from the later eighteen hundreds. Her own cup steaming as she took a sip and glanced over to the door hearing a light rapping.

"Come in." Helen called out with her vintage British accent cutting through the silence of her treasured space. Setting her own cup back down she righted herself adjusting her suite jacket and trying to make herself look presentable after the hours of work in the lab and paper work in her office. Often times the scene people saw when stepping into her office was someone who looked perfectly well put together. That wasn't because Helen was always so well put together but because she fixed her appearance so much she gave that illusion.

Will day consisted of patients seeking mental help and of course he was always on track on helping them out. But he also remembered he has a meeting soon and it would be best to keep his schedule closed until the meeting was finished. Closing everything up and sending apologies to some of the patients that were looking forward in seeing him, he headed off to Magnus's office with his large tablet in his arm. He had his hair recently cut, knowing it was about time he did it. But he still let it messy on top because he simply didn't care just like his jeans and tee shirt gig going on.

When he reached Helen's office he knocked on the door before entering the room. He saw Helen standing behind her desk and of course she looked primped and well dressed as always. He gave her faint smile as he took his spot in one of the seats in front of her desk. Sitting down he placed the tablet on his lap and stated, "Magnus." As a way of saying hello to her. He still couldn't believe that after three years of working with her, he still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that she didn't look a day over thirty.

Unemployment sucked! Nikola had just found out that his multi-spectrum containment invention, which could house anything from, sound, magnetism, pure energy to physical beings was being used against the rightful purpose it was initially made for by SCIU. Why was he now regretting taking a company plane over a company car, so much for compensation for the finer things in life. Really! If that wasn’t enough to mellow about for sometime, he was also angered by his life’s work being stolen. It was safe to say, Nikola Tesla has had better days, but gave a sort of nonchalant entrance to the meeting.

“I’ve been summoned by the great Helen Magnus, looking well preserved I see…” Was the first thing Nikola noted out loud as he walked into her office. “And… huggy bear, you honestly didn’t think I’d forget about that one did you?” That was a greeting intended for Will, if you could call it a greeting that is and that was probably the best Will would get in any terms of acknowledgement. Thing is, Nikola didn’t really care of the affects that could be caused by his choice of wording, so it didn’t cross his mind that the only person that called Will that nickname was Clara Griffin.

Diving straight for the bottle of wine on Mangus’s desk as it caught his attention; he picked it up - a familiar sight around the Sanctuary and observed it. 1879, vintage, Bordeaux, Chateau Ausone St. Emilion. He hadn’t planned on working his way through the south-western wines of France, but he was glad Helen had started that off for him! This wine might have been cheep back in the day but it could easy fetch the highest part of seven thousand now at its lowest and minimum pricing. He proceeded to pour just a tad of the beverage in the fine wine glass Helen had chosen. He liked the idea, she had thought of him. All tea cups, one wine glass. The one and only…

Letting the liquor pass his lips, he sighed as it left behind a distinguished maturity taste to it. He couldn’t help wonder, because the bottle seemed to reflect the person standing behind her desk, which Nikola couldn’t help but notice was standing in, what he would describe as the /Helen Magnus Lecture/ pose. He couldn’t help but roll his eyes, seeing as she was still boring as ever when it came to giving a lecture, though just has sexy. “This wine reminds me of you Helen, very well matured for it’s age in all it’s purity, pardon the pun” He had a slight smug-ish half smile across his features. “Which leaves a very slight – emphasize on the very and I mean with the greatest respect, leaves a glorify aftermath taste, which suggests there’s more to it then meets the eye”

Of course the latter statement was meant for the meeting, but he guessed it would take a while for Will to catch up. Seeing as he was the protégé of the boss, Nikola was sure it wouldn’t take long for it to click. As far as Tesla is concerned Will is just not in the same class nd needs to be reminded of that - on a daily basis - keep Doctor Expandable in his place!

((PS. I look gormless in that picture Helen! Love it though xD))

She'd finished up talking with one of her patients that she'd scheduled earlier in the week. Mostly it was a routine talk, checking to see how they were adjusting to the Sanctuary. Sometimes it amazed her how people and even abnormals would lie about how they truly felt. Not all patients were easy ones, no everyone trusted easily. Trust was something hard to come by in this day and age. Especially with everything that was going on. There was a lot of unrest and worry going around but she did what she could to assure those within these walls that they were safe and would be protected.

She knew she had a meeting with Magnus this afternoon and she said goodbye to her patient and straightened up her office before setting forth now. Red heels clicking along the hallway as she moved through them to Magnus' office. This place had become more and more like home to her as time had passed. She really did love this place as well as the people and the abnormals in it. Dark brown hair swayed over her shoulders as ahead of her she saw Magnus' office. She lifted her hand and checked her watch. She'd gone a little over but she wasn't running to late.

Quickening her pace the tap, tap, tap of her heels grew louder as she got closer. The door wasn't shut all the way so she gave a soft knock to it and peeked in. Smokey blue-gray eyes peeked in at the three, soft smile spread across her features. "Afternoon, Will, Helen." A little pause, "Mr. Tesla." She knew him from what she'd read about him from his file alone really. This was their first actual meeting. Though given she felt he was somewhat eccentric, she figured it would prove interesting at the least.

She shut the door behind her and moved to a seat on the other side of Nikola now, crossing her legs and giving Magus her full and undivided attention as she stood behind her desk. Though it was Tesla that spoke again about the wine he was now drinking reminding him of Helen. Oh boy. He was a fiesty one but should she have expected anything less? A quick glance was given to him before looking back to Helen then. She knew Helen didn't call meetings for the sake of having them. Something was going on and it was serious. She could feel it, on more than one level.

She leaned forward and picked up the teapot and poured herself a cup of tea, forgoing on the sugar. She then lifted the cup and took a small sip of the still hot tea. Mm, hot tea was always wonderful and Magnus could make some mean tea. "I take it this has to do with the unrest I've been sensing." And it wasn't just from those within these walls. When she did venture beyond them, it was out there too. Dangerous times these were. Especially for those that were different.

William as per usual was first to arrive, he never failed to play what some would consider teachers pet but his promptness was of course required of her apprentice. William needed to develop that good timing if he ever expected to take her place one day when she was long gone. "Ah Will, come in and have a seat. It will just take a moment for the others and then we can begin." Now the one she was worried about the most was Tesla. Helen couldn't predict if he would even show up considering the fact he was a bit down on himself. She hadn't been pleased that he had been working for SCUI. In fact it had been the most painful betrayal she had known since John but she did sympathize with her friend for losing his job and along with it his life's work. Still one couldn't wither away in the dark drinking his way through her wine cellar yet again. Helen didn't take her seat just yet but preferred to wait until the others arrived before settling down.

A few more minutes ticked away and the unexpected happened. Tesla was able to pull himself out of his misery long enough to come to her office and join them in the meeting. It was hard not to smile at him, she just hoped her good friend could move past everything that had happened and step forward with her on this new adventure. Though she wouldn't admit it life would be rather dull without Nikola Tesla. "Hello Nikola." Each greeting seemed more instinctual than intentional, but when you had to greet a number of people you didn't bother with formality, especially when you knew them for as long as they had known each other. It didn't take long for him to become his old self again and taunt Will a little with his cute pet name. God forbid he aim anything at her just now, Helen was far from being in the mood to carry out an argument or repremend the egotistical vampire.

Ah but she was wrong to think this day would go without hassle and harassment. "Thank you for that poetic introduction Nikola but I'm afraid there is no time for games." In short that meant there wasn't time to make her feel uncomfortable let alone in her own office. Once Sophie entered the room Helen gave a slight nod of her head and returned the young woman's smile. "Everyone is here I see. Henry won't be able to join us today. I sent him off to London to help with the Sanctuary there for the time being." Helen wasn't completely cold. She had intentionally sent Henry there so he could spend more time with Erika. In her current condition it was best for them to spend more time together and no one knew better than Helen what it felt to be alone and with child, the father missing from your life, that fear. She wouldn't allow that to happen with Erika and she wouldn't, couldn't do that to Henry either.

"Everyone may find their seat now." Helen sat back down in her own desk and looked over to Sophie. "Valid statement. As you may all know by now SCUI is planning something. Their potential is as we have learned... catastrophic. They could potentially reveal the existence of abnormals and far worse. We need to devise a defense and a strategy around them. William and my missions have been intercepted by the SCUI several times now and unfortunately they have even gotten a hold of some abnormals and placed them in testing facilities. We can't allow this to continue to happen." Helen looked over at Nikola and gave the slightest hint of a smirk. "But we have the upper hand. It may not seem so now but we do. Nikola, you know their secrets and when they let you go they had to anticipate you would come straight to me. Because of that you may be in danger. I'll ask you to remain in the Sanctuary until further notice." Lets just see how well that worked out, Helen was more than ready for Nikola to complain and whine about it but she would remain stern and strong. He was in fact their only hope to outsmarting SCUI just now.

((I felt it gave an accurate portrayal.))

Will sat there as people started to come in. When Sophie came in and said his name he nodded his head as she took a seat next to him. Watching her take a sip of her tea reminded him that there were treats and tea next to him on a table. He hated the fact that he had lunch already and wasn't hungry nor thirst. When Nikola came in the room and started ripping it up, he just simply rolled his eyes and found him to be quite annoying. Him and Nikola didn't exactly get long and they simply tolerated each other because of Helen. He made sure to keep his tongue shut and not bicker with Nikola in this meeting as he so did so often. He was grown man and he had to be the bigger person here.

But he gave his attention back to Helen. He listen to her as she was talking about the begging of the Sanctuary's new mission. He feared the SCUI is the new Cabal and but this time it was the Abnormals that were rising up and the humans that are suffering. Something he didn't like and he knew would end badly. They did indeed needed to do something about this and he felt it was going to get worse before it gets better. When she finished Will couldn't help but smile at the fact that Nikola had to be locked up. He wanted to make a smerky comment but he knew Helen wouldn't like it so much if he did.

"Despite Nikola being here on locked down and Biggy being gone what plan do you have in mind?" he knew Helen was up to something and she was going to revel the answer to him. He also felt bad that Biggy went rouge and joined the cause. He thought the Big Man had it in him to betray Helen.

The look all of you are getting, pleased with yourselves? hehe!!

Once the door opened and Sophie appeared, Nikola didn’t wait for Helen to tell everyone to take their seats, he automatically sat, with a small sigh, resting his elbow on the arm of the chair and continuing to swirl the contents of his glass around. He caught Sophie’s eye when she paused before acknowledging him after the other two, in which he gave a small smile as a return as she took her seat in between Will and himself. He heard a little about Miss McRae since her arrival at The Sanctuary and it was nice to finally meet in the flesh, though, they hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting until now and Nikola couldn’t guarantee the first meeting would be anything but enjoyable right now. The smile didn’t count for much either as he wasn’t too good at hiding his true feelings behind fake portrayals. He rested his arm along the back of the chair and sank back into the seat, placing a foot upon the foot stool in front of him.

He was very much rattled, let me tell you, with the whole situation, which could possibly lead to Nikola acting somewhat out of character. If there was someone who could maintain some sort of control over Nikola’s actions and take him down from his high horse a few paces, it was Helen. It was only right to listen to what she had to say, but he abruptly interrupted when she shot a look his way with a slight smirk on her face. “Let me remind you…” he paused, glancing around at each and everyone in turn, who were in the room, before aiming his stare back at Helen. “Before you babble on about my involvement with SCUI, I did turn down the offer initially…” he paused again, by taking a sip of this complimentary wine. “Just saying…!”

He had been doing some research on part of the facility that were testing out blueprints on many of his designs and if he had his way, he would strongly agree to blowing it up, the prototypes that were made and steal back what was rightfully his. Could you call that stealing, if it belong to him in the first place? Much like when he lost an whole laboratory when a fire broke out in the basement of 33-35 South 5th Avenue, in 1895 and swept through the entire structure, including Tesla's laboratory, which occupied the entire fourth floor of the six-story building. All of his hundreds of invention models, plans, notes, laboratory data, tools, photographs, valued at $50,000, were destroyed. He was in so much grief to talk! Seriously, Nikola hadn’t had much luck with his life work, Thomas Edison, JP Morgan, Gugliemlo Marconi, SCUI, all of them made profits by claiming his work, oh he wasn’t just here for peoples entertainment. He strongly thought about packing in his inventions if he had a chance, but knew he wouldn’t.

It was pretty dumb, thinking about it, SCUI firing him when he had most of the inside and pretty much outside intel on the organisation, unless it was a trap and Helen was right about him being in danger. Oh, such excitement. He still gave Helen a /you got to be kidding me/ kind of look when she asked him to remain in The Sanctuary. He leant forward and peered around Sophie to give Will a similar look when he made a comment about Nikola being in lock down, unknown to him, Sophie could possibly pick up a very negative impulse right now. “You’re girlfriend was promoted to Special Agent wasn’t she and is part of an abnormal investigation task force within the FBI…” he glanced at Helen… “And you put me on house arrest” He cleared the contents of his glass in one gulp. He quickily refiled his glass, before he stood up and made his way over to stand by the window, muttering under his breath “Insignificant brainless homeo-sapiens!”

She listened as Helen spoke of them having the upper hand. She admired this woman a lot and looked up to her not only personally but professionally as well. She actually hated the fact that abnormals were being used as test subjects for various things. She could only imagine the horrors they were enduring at the hands of the SCUI in those kinds of places. As it was mentioned that Nikola knew their secrets and was let go from their employment, blue-grey eyes shifted to look at the man.

He had worked for them? She couldn't help but wonder now if it was in order to help other abnormals or not because his file well. While there was notes on how he helped the Sanctuary out they were always wrote in the mindset of others and not the patient themselves. They tended to be a devoid any real feelings and his file honestly held no notes on such things. Though a few words about his personality had stuck out when she'd read it but she always liked to let people make their own impression on her.

Though she felt a bit of a satisfaction coming off Will and it caused her to glance to him now as he spoke. "Despite Nikola being here on lock down and Biggy being gone, what plan do you have in mind?" There was a little pang of sadness. Partly her own, perhaps maybe also from the others to as she thought about the Big Man. It flickered in her eyes but she said nothing on that matter.

And then came that surge of negative impulses which had her snapping her head to look back at Nikola, brown hair shifting over her shoulders. If she had to she'd easily and readily put herself between Nikola and Will. A foolish move perhaps in anyone elses eyes but a necessary one in her own. "You're girlfriend was promoted to Special Agent wasn't she and is part of an abnormal investigation task force with the FBI.... And you put me on house arrest." She watched as he rose from his seat then and moved to the window. Catching what he muttered under his breath.

"Not all of us." That was the only response she gave to Nikola. "And if you're done arguing like two year olds now boys." She put emphasis on the word boys because to be honest they were acting like hormonal teenagers in her eyes. She put her cup of tea down on the table in front of her, folding her hands in her lap. "I think Helen is right that you should keep a low profile Mr. Tesla. They're likely to gun for you if they see you, especially if any of them saw you come here. Secondly, I have an idea... if you want to try to per-say, attempt spying back on them." A small smile touched her lips at that.

Of course her idea involved that Nikola would either have had to have remembered key names of other emoloyees or be able to get into the systems still. Given she already knew he was a smart man, perhaps he could do the latter if he didn't recall any of them. Though the rest would require her to push herself to a point she'd never really been before. Which meant she might be spending a bit more time in the medical wing than she wanted but if it helped, then so be it.

"We are well aware of that Nikola." She glanced over and him and stood back up circling over to the front of her desk and leaning back against it. Crossing her arms she focused in on him for a moment until Will talked. "Valid question Will. I do have a plan in place. More than anything we need to rescue the abnormals already contained and continue to intercept their new captures until we can shut SCUI down for good." The whole situation with Hollow Earth had caused SCUI to get as much power as they had and then the FBI now had it's abnormal hunting team as Tesla so elegantly pointed out to Will. Looking back at Tesla Helen gave him a stern look and joined in with Sophie reprimanding him. "Nikola, no scolding the children that's my job."

Speak when spoken to, that wasn't going to work, Nikola listened to no one but sometimes he listened to her if she made her point clear. Tesla complained about being stuck inside under 'house arrest' she figured he would. "Understand it's for your own good Nikola. If there is some reason you need to leave for something I'll ask I go with you that way I know you'll be safe." Helen almost showed her genuine concern for Tesla's safety as her eyes softened. She had already lost John, Ashley, Watson, she couldn't lose him as well. Nikola left his chair and relocated at the window murmuring under his breath but true to her motherhood days raising Ashley she could pick up a whisper from miles away and heard his little insult to the group. "Oh Nicky...don't be so bitter."

She almost taunted him with the nickname the girl from the lab had given him. Helen had figure he was going after the naive young girl and somehow she was living with the illusion Nikola was a good man. Well he could be but maybe not all the time. There was something rather selfish about everything he did which was why Helen was cautious about him. "I like your idea Sophie and in fact I was counting on it." It never got old that Helen was always six steps ahead of everyone else. She constantly looked over her tools and her staff, thought about what each could offer and as far as they were all concerned Helen was winging it but the pawns had all already been placed and the game was set. They didn't know it yet but she had already won.

Walking closer to Nikola she nodded in his direction. "We could use your help as well Nikola...if you want to offer it that is." She cracked a little smile. She knew how to get to him now and turn his bitterness into something useful. "Just like old times." If that didn't turn Tesla around and bring him back into the conversation then he would have to remain at the window sulking and upset about being stuck in the Sanctuary. Lately the Sanctuary had become more a prison than anything else but no matter where abnormals went their home became a prison. The reason being because the moment they left their 'safety' someone from SCUI would be waiting to snatch them up.

Will felt that one little comment about Tesla blew up in his face and he was being accused of being a two year old. But he sighed and shrugged it off and didn't read to much into it because there was no point in it. He listen to what Helen stated as well as Sophie. He was slightly hesitant on the idea of spying on them but how they were going to go about this.

"Perhaps we could have some one be an agent or send some people in. Knowing their reputation most likely it has to be a human or a some one with less Abnormal powers and abilities. They may have test that they run in order to make sure the place isn't hassled." he stated with a theoretical idea planning out, "But there might be some abnormals that could work with them. But that..." The he caught himself from going on off on a rambling streak.

He sat closer the edge of his seat and leaned in a little further, "If we do decided to send some one or some people in. We need to know at lest their regulations and port a calls. The way things move. Shift changes. It might take some one at lest a week or so to learn everything. And even then we must be on guard to make sure things run smoothly. Not knowing what truly goes on there can be quite dangerous. Perhaps there are things that Nikola doesn't even know about."

He would know the obvious answer to his questions and statements but these things needed to be brought into the light of the matter and that way every one was on the same level or page to were he was getting at.

Well of course they would all agree wouldn’t they? It wouldn’t surprise Nikola if they hadn’t planned this between themselves, but then again he wasn’t thinking straight! What Nikola failed to realised yet was that they were only taking his best interests into consideration, which he will probably never realise just because he was too damn stubborn like that. When he had made the comment about the insignificant race, he didn’t mean to just target the ones in the room, though that would be compulsory right now. Even if he was acting like a two year as Sophie had pointed out, it was with good reason! People thought it was some kind of ego act that was the driven force behind Nikola, on most occasions they would be right. Ever since he found out what SCIU had planned for his inventions, pitted against the abnormals, genocide, he had seen this play out so many times before and who would want that blood shed on their hands, if you weren’t Hilter, or Druitt! So much for him, having a sit down with his ego, they had used him and his mind to get what they want and Nikola didn’t take that likely, it was insulting to him. This wasn’t how he had visioned it would play out, it was like his Death Ray device all over again, sharing his work with everyone hoping peace would break out, only this time, he hadn’t got a noble speech memorized.

Yes, he did see everything as a game, a competition if you like, but he always had to cross the finishing line first and he didn’t care what devastation he left in his wake either – or consequences on his own actions. As long as they benefited him in the long run. What he failed to understand is that, the world didn’t always revolve around him, though he liked to think it did. He was glad he chose to stare out Helen’s office window, at the familiar sight of the Sanctuary courtyard and main gateway entrance, so the others couldn’t see him pulling faces and scoffing when Helen said she’d go with him, if he, for any reason needed to leave the Sanctuary. So he needed babysitting too? And she called him Nicky, ever since she found out the hottie at SCUI called him that Helen had taken is upon herself to tease him about, which he couldn’t help but role his eyes at.

He had been listening to the conversations the others were having even though he didn’t appear like he was. Sophie mentioned spies, Will also mentioned sending people in and Helen was banking on that plan, which suggested she had already thought about it and if she started talking in riddles once more, he seriously thought about throwing something. He wanted hard earnt facts and wasn't getting any. He turned on his heels, still holding the wine glass in his hand, when Helen mentioned it would be just like old times. “We build but to tear down. Most of our work and resource is squandered. Our onward march is marked by devastation. Everywhere there is an appalling loss of time, effort and life. A cheerless view, but true and I believe I said that once before and times haven’t changed since then” he paused, noticing Helen moved n his direction, he gave a heavy sigh. “And seeing has I haven’t no choice about staying in the Sanctuary, I might as well be some good use” He made his way back over to the chair, but didn’t sit, he glanced over at Sophie once more and said… “I like you!” which under the circumstances should be taken as a very good compliment and was referring to her intellectual side – obviously.

Regardless of his choice of words, he would have helped anyway, he was just making a big deal about it and besides it was a chance to get his own back on those bastards. Pardon the French. He liked to make people feel bad about themselves for the right reasons, if that made much sense. Nikola had a photographic memory, which he must have inherited from his mothers side, it was documented that she had memorized complete works of Serbian epic poetry and could say them back to an audience without hesitation or reading from a book. Nikola, while studying at Graz University, found out that he also had the ability. “It is quite evident, though, that this squandering cannot go on indefinitely.” He glanced at Will “We haven’t got a week William, but what we have is a genius and one in the making, I know enough about the secret testing laboratory in the New Mexico desert the real Area Fifty One, headquarters, to throw them from here to kingdom come. Henry managed to catalogue some relevant and reliable information, which I allowed by the way..." he just thought to make that point over to the crowd... "When he and Helen broke into the building. Default passwords, building blueprints, security camera feeds. I can work with that. Gain access to the main live camera network, we can navigate our spies through the building from here, without being traced” Now that Nikola was using his mind, he straightened to his full height, a glimmer of enthusiasm that he hadn’t felt for a long time spread across his face, thoughtfully as he added “Ever thought that I might have left a small booby trap of my own?” he glanced at Helen “Before you say thank you… you are welcome, just doing a good deed for a good friend!”

Welcome back Nikola...
