His head snapped back up as Hye Mi tried to frantically stop Jin Bae from bowing and apologizing. She said that she was flattered to be invited to the JBP concert and that she was just borrowing some of her father's privileges as if it were no big deal. This didn't make him feel any better. If Hye Mi's father was getting offered these kinds of things, Jin Bae couldn't help but imagine how important the young lady's father was. The last thing he wanted was news traveling back to headquarters about his appalling behavior with the daughter of someone valued so highly by the company. But Hye Mi insisted that if he was serious about not offending her then he should stop saying sorry. 'Sorry...' Jin Bae sat back up with a nod, still looking uncertain. Then he realized he'd just apologized again and his eyes widened at his mistake. He shook his hand, prompting for a moment to correct himself. 'Sorry! I didn't mean to say 'sorry' again... I just did it again didn't I...?' He slumped in his seat, giving up on himself. Apologizing for apologizing, fantastic JB...

'I hope you enjoy your time in New York anyway' he said with a shy smile, '...and that this interaction with me does not reflect poorly on JBP. I swear I passed the psychiatric examinations before they hired me.' He chuckled softly. He wouldn't have been surprised if Hye Mi thought he was weird. His demeanor had been all over the place from the moment they had started talking - happy and cheerful one moment, then panicked and frightened or shy and embarrassed the next. But at least he could make a joke even while feeling so uncomfortable. The least he could do now was try and patch the situation up a bit before he was called into the head offices for a 'chat'. 'So I'm going to assume that this isn't your first trip to America?' he asked, lifting an eyebrow curiously. Though, as he went to wait for an answer, he suspected that this may have sounded rude. 'I-I mean it just... sounds like if these are the kinds of offers you or your father get... you must travel a lot... ne?' He wasn't entirely sure if talking about her or mentioning her famous father was going to help or hinder the situation right now, but Jin Bae felt better deflecting from him and the spectacle he'd been making of himself at this point. But who knew? Maybe she could give him some more advice or regale him with some stories about surviving America. Because really at this point, he didn't know if or how he would.

Jin Bae uttered another apology even after she made her views clear. Her eyes glared at him in feigned disapproval, and before she knew what was happening, the flustered man was apologising for an apology! Breaking into hysterical laughter once more, it took her a while to calm down to respond to him properly, "It's alright! Okay, no more from now on, okay?" She smiled kindly at him, trying to make console him for what seemed like the greatest mistake he had ever made in his career. Honestly, Hye Mi never understood the big hoo-ha over her identity and her father's. It could be partly because he was her father and well, to her, he was just an old, balding man with a slight pot belly who snores so loud, it can penetrate the walls. Although she did enjoy having such a powerful man for a father whom everyone feared when she was in her pre-school days, but at her current age it was a problem sometimes when it came to socializing. Some saw her as a snob, others just did not want to risk provoking her.

"I'm sure I will!" She replied cheerfully. She had been to New York a number of times already, it was always nice to return there. "Oh no!' Her hands raised in objection again, "Like I've said, I don't blame you. It's perfectly normal for you not to know me and yes, I'm certain you did pass the psychiatric examination too." She chuckled at the last line, though still unsure if he was convinced she really had no desire in trying to ruin his career by making a complaint whatsoever. In fact, Hye Mi was not sure if her words would even be taken seriously if she ever had the intention to sabotage Jin Bae, after all she was just an eighteen year old girl who happened to be rich and maybe even bratty at times. Even if word did get to the JBP head, she was sure he was just going to tell Jin Bae he was just unlucky to encounter such a rich spoilt brat like her.

"Nope, it isn't." Her voice maintained the same enthusiasm, which she hoped could somehow infect him and rid him of his nervousness. Then, he started getting all paranoid and uptight again and Hye Mi started to try to comfort him again. "Oppa, it's okay!" She reassured him first before continuing, "And to answer your question, yes I do get to travel a lot, mostly because my dad can afford to bring me out for holidays frequently." Then she giggled softly again, "And no, we may receive such invitations sometimes but we don't accept them all the time, especially if we're busy. It just happened that I was a fan of LY and TKO, which was why I decided to attend." She paused to check his condition before asking out of concern, "Are you much calmer now? Honestly, if I knew you would react so adversely to it, I would probably lie and say I was the paparazzi or something." She joked, sticking her tongue out playfully, hoping to dispel the tension in the air.

It was hard to remain uncomfortable when Hye Mi maintained such a sunny disposition. She smiled, laughed, reassured him and answered his questions without an air of disapproval or distaste at his behavior. It felt like some kind of paranormal phenomenon, as if he'd entered another dimension. He might have wondered if he'd fallen asleep during his rushed study session and was dreaming this if his panic had not made him feel so alert now. But everything inside him seemed to relax as the young woman responded to his questions. As he had guessed, she had traveled a lot which stirred a vague feeling of envy within him. 'You're lucky. It must be exciting to see so many different places' he replied with great interest. Jin Bae secretly yearned to travel the world - to see all the different lands and cultures than composed the Earth. He was a naturally curious person. Other ways of living and being fascinated him. 'Holidays must be nice too.' He chuckled. 'Do you have a favourite place to go?' Again he was envious. He couldn't remember the last time he'd had anything that you could define as a holiday. Sure, he'd been to Japan in his senior year, but that had involved some study. Now as a member of JBP, a holiday seemed even more distant than whenever his last one had occurred.

She asked if he was any calmer now, stating that she would have said she was a member of the press if she had known he would get so worked up about her social status. As she poked her tongue out, Jin Bae gave a sheepish chuckle and scratched the back of his head, feeling the attention been drawn back on himself. 'Sorry--' he stopped, cringing and pinching the bridge of his nose as he apologized again. But he fought it off and looked back to her with a shrug and an embarrassed grin - offering an explanation. 'It's just how I am. I have a bit of a reputation for being a bingu, but I try not to do it in front of people that might talk to Jae Byul about it...' He looked a little wary as he said this, but he continued. An explanation for his behavior at this point felt manditory. 'And in front of the fans... because you know... they see me a lot differently with Strong Baby and all...' Jin Bae casually lifted up his fingers and began counting off all the people he tried to hold an image with. 'And the media - because they assume the same thing... and with JBP affiliates... and sponsors... and girls in general... and....' He trailed off, looking at just how long his list was growing. '...I seem to try a lot' he chuckled, shaking his head. What seemed to amuse him the most was the fact that as much as he had to try with so many people, the cases where he failed mounded up just as much. He dropped his hands, looking back to Hye Mi. 'It's the thought that counts though, right?'

Hye Mi was fully aware of how lucky she was to be born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her father constantly reminded her not to take such good fortune for granted as well, which was why he would regularly donate to charities, sharing the immense wealth he earned from his huge company. She may not know Jin Bae very well on a personal level but seeing how his words slightly betrayed a hint of jealousy, she guessed he too, belonged to the huge population of people that were not as lucky as her. Smiling awkwardly, unsure of how to respond, she phrased her words carefully, "Ah... Yes.. It is.." It was fun to see the world out there, she was never fussy wherever her father took her, even though he always put in a lot of effort in the planning just to please the young girl. "Unfortunately this world has too many gorgeous places for me to just settle for one favourite." She admitted to him sheepishly, before adding, "Though I remember the recent holiday to Venice, where the scenery is so picturesque, it's surreal feeling like I'm in a postcard or painting!" She chirped, then realising how ridiculous she sounded and blushing just a bit.

Then, he uttered another apology to which she gave him a half-serious glare of disapproval, and he cut himself of. Stifling a giggle, she lifted a hand to further contain her amusement. She, herself had watched the music video for Strong Baby and comparing the charismatic T.I.C busting sleek dance moves to the shy Jin Bae who was terribly clumsy with his words, there was really a rather striking difference. Well, if she was a much bigger fan of JB, she might be disappointed to know his true self differs so much from his stage persona but whether for the better or the worst, she merely liked his music and admired his talent in dancing. "Of course!" She agreed with him. "Honestly, I'm sure your fans would be tickled to know that their super cool oppa is actually just an ordinary person backstage. It makes you more personable, and less distant, you know?" Ironically she too had a similar problem, she tend to be more friendly when she's interacting with one person at a time. When she was faced with a huge mob of fans, she clams up and feels sorta claustrophobic, which pretty much just makes her unable to connect with her fans well.

'Ne, that's true' Jin Bae nodded. If he were to travel the world one day, he doubted he would know where to start. There were indeed so many beautiful places - the snow-capped mountains of Canada, the untamed forests of the Amazon, the rich artistic history of Europe... yeah he wouldn't have a clue. He smiled at the idea of Venice. It probably was just like being in a postcard. Though with him there it probably would have looked like the world's dorkiest postcard... 'That's... the place with all the big, long boats right? Where all the streets are just water?' It probably wasn't the most beautiful nor accurate description, but he wanted to make sure he was right. 'Personally, I'd hire a jet-ski to get around...' he mused playfully, looking off into the distance as he imagined flying around the city at an alarming speed, spraying down anyone and everyone in his path with water. He wouldn't actually do it, his mind just wandered off like that. But hey, at least he'd get to see the city quicker than the ones stuck paddling!

Hye Mi reasoned that if his fans knew what he was like off-camera that it would make him more personable and less distant. 'Oh so I'm distant huh?' he asked, faking indignation at the idea as he snapped back into reality. 'You sure have an interesting way of approaching 'distant' people...' he added with a grin. However, it faltered as he thought about the fans reactions to his persona off the stage. It was something he had considered countless times should one have run into him and instead of meeting the charismatic T.I.C., would cross paths with the bumbling, accident-prone Jin Bae. He could imagine the disappointment on their face and the news quickly storming the internet - 'T.I.C. is a bingu!' 'T.I.C. has been lying to all of us!'. It was painful to say the least. 'I-I'd appreciate it though... if you didn't say anything... that is...' he started, uncertainty making itself at home in his voice again. 'There are some people out there that wouldn't be as happy as you if they found out their sex symbol was a complete... well... turn-off.' He gave his neck a scratch, feeling embarrassed to even be asking such a thing of her. He wasn't always like this he swore it. Around people he knew he was loud, playful, energetic. They knew him and accepted his ways and he was comfortable. If he was an idiot he just embraced it. This was different. Hye Mi was a stranger and he never could let himself be sure - as much as he would have liked to.

Upon hearing his description of Venice, her head bobbed up and down excitedly, "Yes! That's it!" Although he may not have depicted it in a fanciful, poetic way, it was still fairly accurate nonetheless. And then once again, Jin Bae's comment tickled her so much that she exploded into laughter. "Oh gosh! Then you should watch out for the bridges and gondolas." Her hand was still slightly hovering in front of her mouth, trying to contain her amusement. He was certainly proving to be a four-dimensional sort of person, not that she had anything against such people, in fact she found that she had the most fun when they were not so straight-minded.

"No! Nonono! Definitely not!" Her hands were waving in front of her again to emphasize that he had misunderstood her words. Though the speed her hands were moving wavered when she noticed he was just pulling her leg. "Oh come on! You seemed like you were really having a hard time, I was just trying to help you out." She stuck her tongue out playfully and then grinned impishly. Then as if on cue, she cracked up again after he pleaded with her not to tell anyone and shatter his charismatic image. "Aigooo! You really think too little of me, oppa!" Resting her hand on his shoulder boldly, she looked him in the eye, raised her other hand and assured him, "I solemnly swear I won't tell anyone your secret. Is that okay?" She cackled softly, entertained by his strange antics. "And come on, it's not that much of a turn-off. I think it's adorable, I'm sure some of your fans would love to see this side of you." Pausing for a while, she added softly with a shy smile, "Well, at least for me, I prefer the wacky and frank Jin Bae oppa to the T.I.C. on stage who can seem rather intimidating sometimes."

'Watch out for them? They better watch out for me!' he smiled, talking about the gondolas and the bridges Hye Mi thought that Jae Bin would have to negotiate. 'I won't be a 'Sunday driver' that's for sure.' Actually, Jin Bae was quite a responsible driver. But if he were ever to enter an alternate dimension where he could do absolutely anything he wanted with little-to-no repercussions, he imagined himself going a little wild to say the least. But until that happened, the wildest he went as joking around and messing with people - which he seemed to have successfully done with the girl beside him. She thought for a moment that he really thought that she thought he was distant. But thankfully she got it. 'And it's appreciated' he nodded, referring to her help with his English. 'I'll be asking for receipts like it's nobodies business' he smiled. And he probably would - simply because he knew how to ask for them properly now. He'd probably bring a big ol' bag home to proudly show his mother.

He was relieved to know that she would keep his secret, and he had a pretty good feeling about the girl now to think that she was being sincere. 'Thanks' he said, nodding in appreciation. 'If you ever need someone to not... say something... about you... then consider it done' he offered awkwardly in exchange. Jin Bae could feel some heat rise to his face as Hye Mi said that she thought how he was behind the scenes was adorable. Personally, he didn't see it that way. He often imagined it to be annoying or embarrassing around people he didn't know too well or that didn't know him well in turn. 'Ahh!' he exclaimed, pointing at Hye Mi with a shake of his head. 'There you go again, saying I'm intimidating' he grinned, teasing her again. 'Though honestly, sometimes I find him that way too. We might wear the same size, but T.I.C.'s shoes are hard to wear sometimes.' He knew it wouldn't always be that way. With every performance came a little more confidence. Once he got out there and the cameras starting rolling it was really just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other and enjoying it - which he always did. Doubt was always going to be a part of the job, but it wasn't always going to be the largest part - he knew that.

'So what about you, huh?' he asked after a moment, 'You know all this stuff about me now and I don't know all that much about you. What have you got that I can use for leverage in case you do decide to go and talk to my boss?' Of course, by the look on his face he was just playing around. Jin Bae was curious was all - about the stranger that had just entered his life. 'Do you study? Work?'

The thought of Jin Bae smashing through the bridges and gondolas, destroying the infrastructure like a boss definitely seemed funnier and cooler than imagining him crashing into the bridge and then sliding down the wall of the bridge into the water. Then he added a little comment about not being a 'Sunday' driver which forced the laughter she was trying hard to contain to escape from her lips. Hye Mi felt Jin Bae should appear on variety shows more often with his witty speeches and four-dimensional personality, he was sure to be a crowd-lover. And as if to prove her point, he brought up the receipt issue, but phrasing his words in an amusing manner that got her bursting out in giggles again. "Ohmygod, you are so hilarious, oppa! You know that right?" She exhaled a breath to calm herself down. "They can totally serve as evidence of your awesome English skills!" She flashed an eye smile and a thumbs up.

Hye Mi was not sure if he was being serious about the whole image thing, even if she was already prepared to take the secret to the grave but judging from his response, it seems like a huge thing. It puzzled Hye Mi because she didn't think his fans would mind that much, after all he was highly entertaining with his candid personality which can also be considered one of his charms. She decided to liken it to her little alcohol and partying addiction that her father would go to great lengths to hide for the sake of her career, and then his up-tightness did not seem so far-fetched anymore. "Good to know! I'll let you know when I need a secret keeper, alright? Make sure you don't run away when the time comes!" She used a warning tone that was half-convincing.

"Opppaaaaaaaa~" She whined, as he tried to tease her again and make her try to explain herself. Smiling at his analogy, she encouraged him brightly, "I'm sure those shoes will be broken in soon, in no time you'll probably feel like it's apart of you." Suddenly, the conversation took a hundred and eighty degrees turn and soon the attention was on her. A little taken aback, Hye Mi was speechless for a few seconds, her eyes enlarged and then she decided to play along with his charade. Using a finger to rub her chin, she spoke, "Hmmm... Let's see... I attend concerts and events that I'm invited to and stalk random celebrities sitting by themselves trying to learn English." Waving a hand as if to annul what she just said, "Ayy, of course not." She paused to recollect her thoughts, "Well let's see. I school at the Seoul performing arts school at the moment and I kinda take up a few singing jobs occasionally like recording for OSTs and performing at certain events. No heavy promotion like you and the other idol heavyweights. Nothing interesting." She leaned back on the back rest of her chair.

He grinned as Hye Mi told him not to go running when the time came for her to tell him a secret. 'Ani I won't. I've got nowhere to run to to be honest' he chuckled. His mother lived in Seoul and the singer wasn't particularly close with the rest of his family. His dad had left before he was born and he only really saw any extended family on his mother's side on the occasional holiday here and there. His mother was all he needed anyway. She was the one who had raised him and without her, he was sure that he wouldn't be even half the man he was today - which would be an even more pathetic sight than he'd managed to be today. Jin Bae laughed at Hye Mi's annoyance with his teasing. She wasn't angry, just bothered that he obviously did it so well. She assured him that one day T.I.C.'s shoes would be a good fit. He nodded with a soft seriousness. She was right. One day it would all work out. The more he got out in front of the people and the cameras, the more comfortable he would be. 'Ne, I agree. We've got to break out of our comfort zones every once and a while right? Otherwise we'll never grow' he smiled. It was something he told himself every time he got rattled before a performance. 'I just worry what I'll have to do when this zone gets too comfortable' he laughed, 'I've been sky-diving and I've bungee-jumped. What else is there left to do?' Yes, this was the same guy who freaked out at the thought of having to converse with a girl he liked. He was a complicated fellow to say the least.

He blinked as Hye Mi informed him about what she did with her time. She was studying at the Seoul Performing Arts School for starters. 'Omo really? Wow' he said, looking to the girl in a new light. 'I was offered a place at KNUA' Jin Bae beamed, gesturing to himself as he found something in common with the young girl. But that wasn't the only thing they had in common. Apparently Hye Mi was also a singer. It didn't sound like 'nothing interesting' as she described it. Performing at events and recording for OSTs sounded far from dull or boring. 'See?' he started, pointing to Hye Mi with amusement. 'You are a big hot-shot! What's your stage name? Who have you performed with? Can I get your autograph?' Again he was teasing. He couldn't help it though. She insisted that he didn't make a big deal out of her but Hye Mi was making it harder with everything she said.
